Chapter 12: Renting Warehouse
Elena woke up enjoying a rare dreamless night, something she hadn't experienced in nearly ten years.
As she stretched her arms and legs, ready to stand up from her bed, the curtain slid up, and the warm sunlight wrapped around her, beaming with life.
At that moment, she took a deep breath, filled with hope and excitement for the day ahead.
After a quick shower, she made herself a simple breakfast, a ready-to-eat meal she had stored in her space.
Today, Elena was going to an agency to rent three big warehouses for her supplies collection.
She drove to the Chi Agency, known for its real estate business.
As she walked into the office, a woman in her thirties smiled warmly at her.
"May I know what you are looking for, miss?" the agent asked.
"I want to rent a warehouse for three months, one that's good for storing supermarket goods. Do you have any available?" Elena replied.
"Yes, we do have some available! What are your requirements?" Agent Rosa said.
"I want a place that's easy to access but away from the crowded areas," Elena explained.
"I'll look for it. Please have a seat, miss. By the way, what should I call you?"
"You can call me Elena. What about you?"
"I'm Agent Rosa"
"Okay"
Agent Rosa quickly went to work, searching for available warehouses that fit Elena's needs.
After a short time, she returned with good news.
"Miss Elena, we have five warehouses available—two to the north of City A and three to the south."
The north side was closer to my home, so I may visit that one first, Elena thought.
"Let's visit the north side first," she decided.
They drove toward the warehouse on the path to the port, where trucks passed by, gathering supplies from the seaside.
As Agent Rosa maneuvered the car, Elena noticed that despite many vehicles passing by on the main road, the area near the warehouse was surprisingly quiet.
Plus, the ground was cement and easy to drive on, which she liked.
When they stopped, Elena saw a big warehouse on the right side of the car. There were six warehouses in total, but four were already rented out, leaving only two available.
Agent Rosa led Elena inside one of the warehouses, which was about four times the size of a basketball court.
It had upper and lower floors, and Elena loved the spacious feel.
"This is perfect," she said, feeling excited.
She decided to rent both warehouses but also wanted to check the ones in the south.
They drove to the south side next.
As they got closer, Elena felt disappointed.
Although the quiet area was nice, the road was bumpy and unpaved, which she disliked.
After touring the warehouses, she knew they weren't right for her.
On the drive back to the office, Elena felt relieved.
She had found the two perfect warehouses in the north.
"I'll rent the two warehouses on the north side," she told Agent Rosa with a smile.
"Great choice!" Rosa replied.
As they drove back to finalize the paperwork, Elena felt accomplished.
Since time was not on her side, she would find a broker next to fill the warehouse with supplies.
They entered the office, and after a few moments of signing and initialing, Elena completed the three-month rental agreement.
It cost her 120,000 green coins.
With everything sorted out, she wanted to go home and find a broker.
But just as she was about to leave, a thought struck her.
Real estate agents often had great connections, maybe Agent Rosa could help her find a broker.
"Agent Rosa, Do you know anyone who can supply supermarket merchandise? I'm talking about food supplies, household goods, and personal care products. My husband and I are planning to open a supermarket, and I need a reliable source for inventory."
Rosa paused, her brow furrowing in thought.
Then her eyes lit up as she remembered someone.
"Yes! I know someone from SupplyLink Brokers. They specialize in sourcing and distributing a wide variety of products for supermarkets. You can trust them!"
"Oh, that's fantastic! Can I have their contact details? I want to reach out to them right away."
Rosa beamed, happy to help.
After a quick search through her desk, she produced a neatly printed card and handed it to Elena.
"Here you go! When you contact them, just mention that Agent Rosa recommended you. I'm sure they'll take great care of you."
"Thank you so much for your help today!" Elena replied with gratitude
On her way home, she decided to stop at the local restaurants she had enjoyed visiting.
She ordered a delicious variety of foods to store in her space, imagining all the tasty meals she could enjoy later.
