Chapter 289: Take Action

Faced with the desert vortex, Blue Demon showed no hesitation. Flapping the mechanical wings on his back, he shot toward the Sand Beast like a blue meteor.

He raised the massive energy blade in his hand. A dense ball of blue energy gathered at its tip, resembling a blue star on the verge of exploding.

Seeing this, the Sand Beast directed the vortex of sand to meet Blue Demon head-on.

In an instant, blue light and the yellow sandstorm clashed, erupting in a deafening roar.

Energy and sand twisted together, impacting and enveloping the entire battlefield in a powerful force. The light was so dazzling it was almost blinding.

"I didn't expect you to have a few tricks," Blue Demon said. With a push from his mechanical wings, he charged directly into the sand vortex. "But if you think this is the extent of my power, you're gravely mistaken!"

Blue Demon seized the opportunity. He swung his blade, fiercely slashing at the Sand Beast's head in the center of the vortex. The beast, caught off guard, couldn't react in time as the blue energy blade gouged a massive gash—taller than a man—into its hard skull.

"AWOOO!!!"

The Sand Beast cried out in pain, suddenly spewing a stream of black sand from its mouth.

This stream of black sand was completely different from the yellow sandstorm before it. It carried a decayed, evil aura, and wherever it passed, the very air seemed to corrode, sending out black ripples.

Sensing the danger from the stream of sand, Blue Demon chose not to block it head-on and dodged swiftly. His form flickered through the air like a phantom, but the black sand clung to him like a maggot on a corpse, relentlessly changing direction to pursue him.

A ghostly light glinted in Blue Demon's eyes. He crossed his blade before his chest and began muttering an incantation.

Instantly, a blue energy shield materialized before him. Runes flickered across its surface, exuding a powerful defensive aura.

The stream of black sand struck the energy shield, creating a hissing sound. Black ripples spread across the shield's surface, but it ultimately held, failing to break through the defense.

The battle between Blue Demon and the Sand Beast had reached a white-hot intensity. The very air around them seemed to ignite from the ferocity of their clash.

Using his agile mobility, Blue Demon weaved swiftly around the Sand Beast, trying to find a chink in its armor. The blade in his hand gleamed with a cold light, and every strike found its mark.

The Sand Beast, relying on its massive body and hard carapace, fought defensively. Whenever Blue Demon drew near, it retaliated with its thick limbs, sharp, gravelly shell, or enormous tail. Each move caused the ground to tremble and sent dust flying.

As the stalemate dragged on, Chen Pingchuan, who had been observing the whole time, frowned slightly. He had grown tired of toying with his opponent.

"How boring."

Chen Pingchuan suddenly began chanting a mysterious spell.

Instantly, the sky changed dramatically. The once-clear heavens were suddenly shrouded by a heavy pall of churning sand. Several sandstorms erupted in the area, arranged in the shape of a pentagram and emitting a deafening roar.

"Raging Sand Domain—Weaken the Weak!"

Chen Pingchuan bellowed, his voice booming like a great bell across the entire battlefield.

As his words fell, he and Blue Demon abruptly vanished. In their place, a terrifying, colossal sand tornado materialized. The colossal sand tornado ravaged the land like a primordial beast, roaring between heaven and earth and eclipsing the world in shadow.

Inside the tornado, however, was another scene entirely. Within a palace constructed from yellow sand, Chen Pingchuan sat upon a throne in the center of a great hall, gazing coldly down at Blue Demon, who was forced to one knee below.

Blue Demon had been in the heat of battle when he suddenly felt the world spin. When his vision cleared, he found himself in a strange, new space.

He was surrounded by walls made of yellow sand. The dome overhead was also formed from condensed sand particles, emitting an oppressive and mysterious aura. Not far away, Chen Pingchuan was seated on the throne in the center of the hall, watching him with a cold expression.

"I admit, for a Heaven's Chosen, you have some skill."

"But so what? You clearly don't comprehend the terror of the Celestial Palace. Now, lower your weapon, and I might spare your life."

Blue Demon vigilantly tightened his grip on his blade. The situation was clear: he'd run into a real monster this time. This man wasn't among the world's renowned masters, but unforeseen threats were often the most dangerous.

Blue Demon's voice was strained with indignation and tension.

Chen Pingchuan's lips curled into a scornful smile. "As expected. An ant is still just an ant. It hasn't a shred of reverence even when facing a True God."

A furious light flashed in Blue Demon's eyes. "You dare call yourself a Divine Spirit? Watch me take you down!"

With that, he flapped his mechanical wings and charged at Chen Pingchuan. The blue energy on his blade flared once more, shining even more brilliantly than before. He was clearly putting his all into this attack.

Chen Pingchuan, however, was unhurried. He simply lifted a hand and snapped his fingers.

Instantly, countless sharp sand spikes shot out from the yellow sand walls. Like a horde of slavering monsters, they stabbed rapidly toward Blue Demon.

Blue Demon deftly twisted his body in mid-air, using his excellent mobility to evade the attacking spikes. However, the spikes emerged endlessly from the walls, assaulting him from all sides and making it incredibly difficult to dodge.

While evading, Blue Demon spotted an opening and fired the blue energy from his blade as a beam, aimed straight at Chen Pingchuan.

Chen Pingchuan snorted. With a casual wave of his hand, a barrier of yellow sand formed instantly before him, easily blocking Blue Demon's energy beam. The energy collided with the sand, kicking up a cloud of dust, but Chen Pingchuan remained seated firmly on his throne, his expression unchanged.

"A futile struggle."

"Then allow me to show you true despair!"

"Sand God—Judgment!"

As Chen Pingchuan's voice faded, the raging sands around Blue Demon suddenly surged toward him, instantly encasing his entire body and forming a massive sand cocoon. The surface of the cocoon churned and roiled, as if some terrifying power were brewing within.

Blue Demon struggled fiercely inside the cocoon, flapping his mechanical wings wildly in an attempt to break free. However, the seemingly loose grains of sand were now as hard as steel. No matter how much force Blue Demon exerted, the sand cocoon didn't even tremble.

Chen Pingchuan sat on his throne, coldly observing it all.

"Judgment rendered! The weak shall be bound!"

The sand cocoon began to emit an eerie light, which deepened from a faint glow to a blood-red hue. Inside the cocoon, Blue Demon felt an unprecedented pressure, as if the entire space were compressing inward, threatening to crush his mechanical body to dust.

For the first time, a flicker of fear appeared in Blue Demon's eyes.

"No!!!"

"This power... it doesn't belong to this world!"

"You're an Evil God! You have to be an Evil God!"

A crazed light suddenly flashed in his once-icy mechanical eyes, just as he prepared to take his enemy down with him—
