Chapter 69: Activating the Ability: The Engraver

Zhao Wanrong nestled beside Ye Zian, fell into a deep sleep. As the clock struck midnight, time seemed to stand still, with both humans and zombies involuntarily falling into slumber. The blood moon overhead emitted dazzling red light, and the air was filled with growing energy. This mysterious energy interacted with all living beings, strengthening their cells.

Those with exceptional potential found the reaction more intense, beginning to transform into ability users, awakening their innate powers.

In front of the Liu family villa, Liu Sisi stood in the garden, eyes closed as if entranced, letting the crimson moonlight envelop her. In her sleep, Sisi basked in the energy from the blood moon with a face that shifted from enchanting to slightly covetous. These zombies, too, absorbed the ambient energy, beginning to evolve.

The blood moon would last three days, determining the fate of many people. Those with S-level potential and above would awaken their abilities during this time, while others could only leave it to fate.

In the morning, Ye Zian woke beside the still-sleeping Zhao Wanrong, her serene face reminding him of the previous night's events.

"Congratulations on becoming an ability user, awakening the SSS-level ability: The Engraver (Unique). After communicating with a female with an affection level of 80 or above, you can learn her ability. "Hiss," Ye Zian took a sharp breath, realizing how well-suited this power was for him.

This ability, formidable or lacking, depended on its wielder. If Ye Zian reached the tenth level, he could learn up to ten different abilities. The main drawback was matching a normal person's physical qualities before the first engraving. What ability user would notice an ordinary person?

Facing future challengers either weaker or intensely stubborn, like Su Chen with his protagonist's aura, would not benefit much from this control power. Instead, Ye Zian needed tracking or restraining abilities.

With his current attributes, no one on the same level could rival him in single combat; he needed strong methods to hold enemies at bay.

Upon remembering last night's events, Zhao Wanrong's gaze softened as she met Ye Zian's eyes. Believing he had left, she was pleasantly surprised to find him still there.
