At least the man was a bit more pleasing to the eye; as for Lu Yin, she couldn't say anything about her because Lu Yin was still hung up on Lei Qian, despite knowing that the man was going to be a father in a few months.

A glint flashed in Dacheng's eyes as he was quite satisfied with the response that Bai Meiyue had given to him. He leaned forward and interlocked his fingers with his elbows resting on his knees. "I want you to join us, even if it's temporary, and help us kill Yu Miaomiao. I know that you were planning to do that before the mutated bugs attacked the safe base and changed your plans."

Dacheng's words made Bai Meiyue raise her brows. She had to admit that Dacheng was really fit to live in the apocalypse. He joined Yu Miaomiao by betraying them, and now that he wanted to rise to the top, he was willing to kill Yu Miaomiao without a change of expression. Bai Meiyue was certain that when Yu Miaomiao took him in, she was quite smug, thinking that this man would never dare to betray her. But now look at this. Not only was Dacheng willing to betray her, but he was even cruel enough to kill her.

While it was really cold-hearted, Bai Meiyue knew that only people like him could survive in this world. Even though it would be really lonely.

Bai Meiyue did not respond. She simply rubbed the crystal bracelet on her wrist while being lost in her thoughts. Neither Dacheng nor Lu Yin pushed her for an answer. They waited patiently for her to answer, but when Bai Meiyue didn't say anything, Lu Yin frowned hard. She sucked in a breath and hotheadedly said to her, "I know that it sounds a bit crude. But it's better for us to kill Yu Miaomiao. Her death would benefit all of us. I know that you want to protect your child, don't you? As long as Yu Miaomiao is alive, I assure you that she will not give up on your child. The only way to make sure that she will give up on your child is to kill her. Don't you want to protect your child?"

Bai Meiyue chuckled when she heard Lu Yin's words. Though these words sounded really nice to hear, in truth, they were cold.

Lu Yin kept mentioning the safety of her child, but in the end, didn't she want to use Bai Meiyue as a weapon to kill Yu Miaomiao?

"And what is your plan to kill her?"

Bai Meiyue hadn't gone to the safe base where Yu Miaomiao was living at the moment. But Lei Qian and the others had been keeping an eye on her for the last few weeks. Even though the woman no longer controlled the safe base as she did in the past, it didn't change the fact that she still had some strength left within her. Lu Yin and Dacheng were never her right-hand subordinates, and even if Chief Lin was someone she trusted, Yu Miaomiao was not someone who would put all her eggs in one nest.

Which meant that Yu Miaomiao was already keeping guard against Chief Lin. Since that was the case, there were too many things that Dacheng and Officer Lin didn't know about Yu Miaomiao. Like she had actually created a bunker in her home, which allowed her to store supplies. These supplies were what she was using to feed the soldiers who were under her control at the moment. That wasn't all.

Yu Miaomiao also had a separate weaponry that no one knew about. This was something that Bai Jixuan and Wan Guofu found after looking around the safe base for a long time. Fortunately, Bai Jixuan could turn into all kinds of animal forms, which meant that he could easily sneak into the safe base without anyone finding out.

What was more–

"Do you even know where she is hiding?" Bai Meiyue asked with a raise of her brows.

"We do," Dacheng nodded as he took out the map that he was carrying with him. He opened it and spread it all over the table. He then showed the five or six red circles that were scattered on the map and said to Bai Meiyue, "These are the places where we usually find her."

Bai Meiyue looked at the map and realised that one of the places where Yu Miaomiao was hiding was the penthouse where she lived. It was a good place to stay to begin with, with all the security defences that she had arranged for her family and herself. With Yu Miaomiao adding a little more force to it, it had become almost impenetrable for anyone to pierce through her defences. What was more, she had collected all the wood ability users as well as the water ability users. With her perseverance, the woman was not going to leave the penthouse any time soon. If anything, she must be waiting for Bai Feng, Fox and Officer Lin's supplies to run out.

With the mutated bugs running out of control, it was not a surprise that Yu Miaomiao was dragging this matter out. After all, she had collected all the useful ability users that she could. And there was also the matter of the three men caught in the war.

No wonder Officer Lin sent these two here to convince her.

With Yu Miaomiao's strength, along with the soldiers that she had, it would take a long time for them to take her down, and they didn't have the supplies for that. They couldn't travel this long to find Bai Meiyue every day either. Thus, they were all running against time. Unless Bai Meiyue and Lei Qian joined the fray.
