Three hours later, Bai Meiyue found herself looking at the pill that she had made with her own hands.
When she was unconscious, Bai Meiyue had travelled far and wide with an old immortal who taught her a lot of skills. He even made her learn how to make pills that could not only treat a lot of serious illnesses but also help in making a person look younger and healthier.
One such pill was the Bone Marrow Cleansing pill. The effect of this pill was really good in her dreams; thus, Bai Meiyue found herself feeling itchy trying to make it.
Ciyi eyed the pill carefully; her eyes stared at the glowing light pink pill, and she turned to look at Bai Meiyue as if silently asking if this pill was even going to work.
"Well, it should work." Hearing the whimpers of the little pup, Bai Meiyue answered. She then turned to look at the pill, picked it up with her fingers, and studied it carefully. From the scent to the colour, everything looked alright.
Bai Meiyue took a sniff of the pill and then brought it to her mouth.
As soon as she took a bite of the pill, she felt it melt inside her mouth, and the second it melted, Bai Meiyue nearly fainted because of the pain. Fortunately, she prepared the pill for women who were pregnant because if she hadn't, then the pain would have been twice as bad
She covered her stomach and then rushed to the restroom, where she stayed for more than an hour, and even when she stepped out, she had to turn around and go right back into the restroom.
It was not until the sixth trip that she felt a bit better, and her body felt lighter and much stronger. She rubbed her stomach and took a look at her pulse, and because she had learnt some skills, Bai Meiyue found out that her son, because of years of malnutrition as well as the doomsday virus, was destined to be born as a rather slow child.
No wonder her son was much more innocent and childish when compared to the children of his age.
Fortunately, she got some special skills that helped her deal with the problem before it could become permanent. Now that she had cleared up the impurities from her body and used her spiritual essence to stabilise her condition, Bai Meiyue hoped that the growth of her son would be much better than in the past.
The sound of whimpering attracted Bai Meiyue's attention, and she turned to look at the little pup who was looking at her worriedly. She patted the little pup on the head and said to her, "I am fine. Don't worry."
Ciyi turned her head to one side. She didn't quite trust Bai Meiyue as she had seen her suffering alone and never calling out to anyone, even when she was in a lot of pain.
Seeing the disbelieving look in the eyes of the pup, Bai Meiyue smiled at her. She picked Ciyi up and said to her, "Then shall I show you that I am doing good?"
In response, Ciyi let out a bark.
"Eh?"
"What's the matter?" Bai Zhan turned to look at his brother, who was looking at the glass of water in his hands. "Is something wrong with the water?" Did they need to clean their water tank?
"No," Bai Jixuan shook his head. He handed the glass of water to his elder brother and said, "I think something happened with Yueyue. Take a sip; the water is really sweet—"
"Isn't it always sweet?" Bai Zhan asked with a raise of his brow.
"Just take a sip," said Bai Jixuan in a hurried manner. "You will understand what I am trying to say then."
Bai Zhan didn't understand what the man was trying to say. However, he still took a sip of the water and was surprised when he felt a sweet taste explode in his mouth. The water was indeed sweeter than before; that wasn't all — there was also a subtle warmth in it which slowly spread through his extremities.
His eyes widened, and he turned to look at his brother, who arched one of his brows and said to him, "You see?"
"Maybe it had something to do with her skill upgrading," Bai Zhan lowered his head. He stared at the water in the glass, and a glint flickered in his eyes. He didn't know why, but the more he tried to understand his sister, the more he realised that she was getting more and more mysterious.
At that moment, on the other side of the Sunshine Deluxe Apartment, Dacheng, along with Lu Yin, were standing in front of the building. The two of them were dressed in long green military uniforms, while Dacheng was carefully styled such that he would fit in the uniform that he was wearing. And Lu Yin was wearing a long uniform skirt with an overcoat that matched her uniform.
Her long hair was straightened and pinned behind her head. She was wearing delicate makeup, which made her look even younger. She was holding a file while looking at the top of the building. Her eyes were filled with pride as if she had already won the bet that she had placed.
"Let us go," She was not the only one; Dacheng also thought that he had finally gotten what he wanted.
He and Lu Yin strode inside the building, attracting a lot of attention, as they reached the apartment where Bai Xue lived with Bai Feng and the rest of the Bai family.
It was just a shame that when they knocked on the door, the one who welcomed them was Su Hu and not Bai Feng.
