Aron nodded in satisfaction.
Danger Sense and Immunity had saved his life more times than he could count.
Without them, he'd have died long before now.
Still, logic told him he should probably upgrade his shield ability.
Maybe he could reach the point where he could attack from inside the dome while it was active.
At first, that idea sounded amazing.
The image of himself sipping tea while enemies wailed helplessly outside was quite the fantasy.
But after using the dome for a while, he realized something unpleasant.
He hated it.
The feeling of safety was suffocating.
The thrill, the adrenaline, the chaos of battle, was what made him feel alive.
So he stopped using the dome altogether.
And honestly, it wasn't like an ability that perfect would ever exist anyway.
Aron had already noticed that while each of his abilities was overpowered, none of them were flawless. They all came with there downside.
By that logic, the most he could hope for from upgrading the dome was probably the ability to reflect attacks. Anything beyond that would be just wishful thinking.
Shaking his head, he turned his gaze back to his status window.
He'd upgraded Water Control earlier because the base version required existing water to function.
With Thunder Manipulation already in his arsenal, it wasn't hard to guess that upgrading Water Control would evolve it toward true elemental mastery.
After contemplating his options for a while, he decided to save his last upgrade point for later. There was no need to rush.
Once he was done, Aron called forth his clones, and unsummoned them.
That was when he found another annoying downside.
No matter how much he leveled up, his clones remained the same as when he had first summoned them. Their power wouldn't increase at all.
Through their memories and the building's clock, Aron realized he'd been unconscious for two days. That was… unexpected, to say the least.
It also meant he had only a few hours before the event he'd planned to attend.
With that, Aron reached for the door, only for the handle to snap off in his hand.
He stared at it for a moment, expression blank. "…Right."
Giving up on the handle, he simply broke the entire door down and stepped out of the building.
--
The moment he stepped outside, a suffocating wave of stench assaulted his nose.
As his body grew stronger, so did his senses, and unfortunately, that included his sense of smell, and at times like this, that was not a blessing.
He covered his nose instinctively, grimacing.
Even though he couldn't feel the heat of the sun directly, he could tell it had become at least five times hotter and harsher than before.
The air was thick, heavy, and reeked of spoilt meat.
Extending his senses, Aron scanned the surrounding area.
Some of the survivors he'd seen before were gone, most likely dead.
Others were still alive but barely hanging on, their bodies gaunt, their eyes lifeless.
One was using a cup to drink water from a toilet pit. Another was drinking his own urine.
They were all dehydrated, starving, and steeped in despair.
The streets were littered with swollen corpses, most of them cooked under the blazing sun.
Some had been half-eaten by zombies.
Even with his current strength, Aron felt his stomach churn. The sight was revolting. He almost wanted to throw up.
(Disgusting…)
He didn't linger.
Boom!
In the next instant, he shot forward, breaking the sound barrier as he ran.
He had zero intention of missing the event, no matter what.
At first, his body struggled to keep up with his speed, but the awkwardness faded as his movements grew smoother and more natural.
Everywhere he passed, within a two-mile radius, every living zombie dropped dead without exception.
Now that he could conjure water from thin air, he wiped out any undead within range of his senses. Notifications flooded his vision as he ran.
[Zombie Crawler Lv. 20 killed. 0 EXP!]
[Zombie Bomber Lv. 17 killed. 0 EXP!]
[Zombie Crawler Lv. 20 killed. 0 EXP!]
[…]
Hundreds of glowing zombie cores floated behind him, suspended in streams of water as he extracted them before the corpses even hit the ground.
Without stopping, Aron sped through Zone B, leaving silence and destruction in his wake.
The road ahead was painted with death, and Aron didn't slow down once.

Shameless Author:
First of all, thank you. Seriously, you guys make me so happy. The support has been massive, and to be honest… you completely outdid my expectations. Even my shameless self is standing here in shock like: "Wait, are these readers really mine?!"
Now, I also need to apologize. I know it's frustrating to wait a whole day just for a single chapter. Truth is, I'm currently tied up with a task that eats most of my time, so I've been squeezing writing into whatever scraps of free time I can find.
But! Starting next month, things should stabilize, and I promise you'll be getting two chapters daily. (Yes, you heard me, TWO. My fingers are already crying, but hey, what's life without suffering for art?).
Once again, thank you for the overwhelming support. 💖
