Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The Cyclops below was killing at a rapid speed. In no time at all, it had eliminated all the Demon Fiends that had rushed out.

Looking at the magic crystals and Demon Blood Limbs littered on the ground, Wen Yu frowned and looked at the Ancient Demon up on the city wall. After some thought, he decisively directed Cyclops and Star to start cleaning up the spoils of war.

Maybe the Demon City is jam-packed...

This was Wen Yu's guess. He naturally didn't know if it was true or not. Even if there was some conspiracy involved, Wen Yu couldn't see through it. He could only respond to situations as they arose!

The Ancient Demon on the wall sneered twice at Wen Yu and then walked off the city wall.

Inside the Demon City, the amount of Demonic Qi spewing out from the three Demon Realm's Gates suddenly accelerated!

Wen Yu hadn't noticed that for a very long time, no new Demon Fiends had emerged from the three Demon Realm's Gates.

Simultaneously, in a position between the three Demon Realm's Gates, a smaller, blood-red, three-meter-tall Demon Realm's Gate was slowly taking shape...

A few more hours passed in a flash.

Wen Yu was still sitting before the Demon City, constantly fiddling with Palpitation and Mad Medley in his hands.

Cyclops and Star were also lying on the ground, bored. They were either napping or scratching at the sand and soil.

The Demon City remained quiet. Even the three Level 4 Demon Fiends on the wall had disappeared.

Just as Wen Yu was about to take out food again for his meal, the distant mechanical rumbling grew louder.

Looking back, he saw several military vehicles rapidly approaching.

The first person to get off a military vehicle was Kuangliu. He greeted Wen Yu and then walked straight over.

From the vehicles behind, ten super warriors from the military stepped out in succession, closely surrounding several seemingly weak humans in the middle.

Kuangliu walked over to Wen Yu, unceremoniously picked up an Energy Bar from the ground, and spoke while nibbling on it.

"Those behind me are my men, all the super warriors of the military. I brought them out this time to gain some experience and maybe level up."

"Those few people are from the research institute, responsible for studying the Energy Shield outside the Demon City."

"Moreover…" Kuangliu paused, glancing at the super warriors escorting the researchers towards the Demon City before continuing, "Without witnessing bloodshed, without experiencing brutal battles, they won't grow! Wen Yu shrugged. "I'm not cut out to be a nanny."

"That's why I'm here!" Kuangliu replied.

Seeing Kuangliu's resigned expression, Wen Yu smiled faintly and resumed observing the Demon City.

After learning that the Human Race had once again sent a team to the Demon City, the familiar Ancient Demon reappeared on the city wall.

It first glanced at the researchers, who were about tens of meters away, already with their instruments out to study the Energy Shield. Then, it looked at Wen Yu in the distance and Kuangliu near the researchers. Rage erupted in the Ancient Demon's eyes!

These guys... they really think we're pushovers!

The Ancient Demon uttered complex Demon Realm Language.

A Level 4 Soot Skin Demon Fiend behind it sneered twice and slowly said, "Perfect. Send some cannon fodder to harass them a bit. It will also serve as more offerings for my ability."

The Ancient Demon nodded slightly. Simultaneously, a complex and subtle Spiritual Fluctuation emanated from its mind.

Inside the Demon City, an Early Stage Level 3 Demon Fiend, leading nearly 3,000 low-grade demonic creatures, quickly rushed out of the city gate, baring fangs and brandishing claws as they charged towards Kuangliu and his team.

Although there were many Demon Fiends, which would translate into a considerable sum of points, Wen Yu remained seated, unmoving.

He wanted to gauge the strength of Kuangliu and these military super warriors!

The drones constantly hovering in the sky served as an indication to Wen Yu. The military had likely figured out his combat style, as well as that of Cyclops and Star. In other words, the military had a good understanding of Wen Yu's capabilities.

However, Wen Yu knew nothing about the military's top combat forces.

While Wen Yu held no grudge over this, it still left him feeling somewhat uncomfortable.

He decided to use this small wave of Demon Fiends as an opportunity to observe the strength of Kuangliu and these super warriors.

The battle started quickly. As a large number of Demon Fiends rushed out of the city, Kuangliu quietly pulled the few researchers back a couple of steps. He then took out a protective tool from his space ring.

Bright Light Shield (A-Grade Tool): Upon activation, it deploys a protective shield around the user. The shield can negate damage below Level 5 and lasts for ten minutes. Attacks cannot be launched from inside the Bright Light Shield while it is active!

This item was the same one Jiang Wentao and the others had used in the Flashing Bluestar treasure land when facing Cyclops's attack.
