Apocalypse: Last Traveler

Chapter 167: Combat Power_3

Only when this feeling gradually diminished and was about to disappear did they stop.

"I hope this Fungus Stone is the only one in the world, and only the two of us have it."

Having experienced the effects of the Fungus Stone, Lu Xi'an couldn't help but say this.

Yao Wei nodded and said, "Yeah."

But come to think of it, it's probably not possible. If there were only one, why would that Neo-Human in Mengxin City know about it?

That Neo-Human seemed to value the Fungus Stone so much, he must know its benefits to Neo-Humans.

Let's just hope the Fungus Stone is extremely rare in the world and hasn't fallen into the hands of other Neo-Humans.

Lu Xi'an wished in his heart.

After exercising, the two set up a fire to make breakfast.

Since they were going to stay and rest for a while, there was no rush for this breakfast.

They set up the fire and pot, cooking some rice.

Then Lu Xi'an took out two strips of meat, cut them into small pieces, and put them into the pot.

—He originally wanted to stir-fry the meat strips with vegetables, but considering the meat was already dry and hard, and had been salted and smoked before, it was already salty. Stir-frying it might make it even drier and harder, and the taste more intense.

So he didn't stir-fry the meat strips. He waited until the rice was almost cooked before cutting the meat into pieces and adding them to the pot. This would not only add some flavor to the rice but also soften the meat a bit and change the texture.

Then Lu Xi'an took some dehydrated vegetables and did a quick stir-fry, pairing them with the finished rice, creating a small luxurious meal for Yao Wei and himself.

After eating, the two started building doors and windows for the shelter.

They didn't take materials from the woods, which was somewhat troublesome.

There were ready-made items at Xiaogang Village, so why waste time and effort here?

They drove to Xiaogang Village and searched around for a while.

On the ruins in the village were wooden doors, iron doors, and others made of different materials.

The wooden doors were all broken and unusable. The iron doors were in various conditions, but even the good ones were too heavy and unusable on the cliff.

Fortunately, they finally found an aluminum alloy door that was relatively light. It was the right size and basically undamaged, seemingly usable.

However, the door was already detached from its frame, so Lu Xi'an could only use the inner door; the frame couldn't be taken back for use.

Even though it was just an inner door, Lu Xi'an immediately had a plan for installing it and could try it when they got back.

But when it came to windows, it was more troublesome.

The windows on the ruins were all shattered. After searching around, they found at most an intact aluminum alloy window frame, but none of the sizes fit, and all the glass was already broken. None were usable.

Lu Xi'an thought for a moment and said, "How about we don't bother with the windows? Leave a small window, we can keep an eye on the car and see if there's rain or snow, then we just go back to the car."

Yao Wei replied, "Alright."

So they only took that aluminum alloy door, put it on the car roof, and drove back to the cliff edge.

Lu Xi'an then took out a shovel and dug a groove at the lower edge of the shelter's wall, slightly widening the edges to embed the door.

Then he chiseled a finger-width groove above the top of the door and nailed a nail inside the wall, preparing everything.

Next, he had Yao Wei watch from outside, while he tied a rope to the door handle securely, embedding the door into the groove at the shelter's entrance on the cliff, and with the rope, pulled the door up, embedding it into the door frame he had chiseled with the shovel.

This way, the door fit tightly, blocking the entrance perfectly.

After finishing these, Lu Xi'an tied the rope to the nail to secure the door.

In case they needed to go out, they could just untie the rope or simply kick the door out.

He gave the door a gentle push, feeling it was fine, and then stood by the window, looking out through the tiny window hole, asking Yao Wei, "How's it look?"

"Good."

Yao Wei nodded to indicate no issues.

Lu Xi'an smiled, "This feels like I'm living in a prison, and you're here for a visit."

Yao Wei seemed to know what a prison was and didn't need Lu Xi'an to explain, "I'm living with you."

So Lu Xi'an let go of the door, and Yao Wei brought in some ready-made firewood. They sat inside this small "prison" together.

There was no sunlight today, and the weather was slightly cool. Even though there was no rain or snow, it was quite suitable for lighting a fireplace to warm up.

Lu Xi'an had already cleaned the old ashes from the fireplace earlier, so he put new firewood in and lit it, sitting with Yao Wei, watching the fire and feeling its warmth.

Their seats warmed up quickly. It seemed that the floor heating hadn't broken during their absence.

As promised, Lu Xi'an began telling Yao Wei the story of Dragon Ball.

He didn't start with the Earth arc but talked a bit about the origin of the Fighting Race, the Saiyans, Namek, and some of the main characters' backgrounds before diving into the Namek arc.

The story was neither too long nor too short. Lu Xi'an skipped the details of the battles, just focusing on the outcomes, so the story was compressed enough to finish within half a day.

When he finally described how Kakarot, enraged by Klin's death, turned into a Super Saiyan and thrashed Frieza, even Yao Wei couldn't help but clench her fists.

Yet, when Lu Xi'an finished, Yao Wei said, "Needing a friend to die to become a Super Saiyan and increase fighting power doesn't feel good.

"But it's interesting how Saiyans increase their fighting power when near death; that suits Luo Ping quite well."

Lu Xi'an nodded in agreement, "Too bad Luo Ping isn't a Saiyan."

"Yeah."

Yao Wei said, "If Type B Neo-Humans were like Saiyans, it would be terrifying."

"True."

Lu Xi'an agreed. If that were the case, what if Type B Neo-Humans, with a little food, sought death?

Just thinking about it was scary.
