Chapter 29: Chapter 29 – New members
During class, Tatsuki tuned out the lesson. The material was already familiar to him, so he struck a comfortable pose and opened the Apocalypse Chat Group.
The moment he entered, several mentions greeted him.
March 7: "@Tatsuki, there are new members! Admin, come explain this Apocalypse Chat Group!"
Insect Pillar: "Apocalypse Chat Group? Ara, is this some kind of Blood Demon Art from an evil spirit? Could the administrator kindly come forward for a chat?"
Cat Burglar: "What's going on here? Why are these words unfamiliar, yet I can understand their meaning?"
The group's built-in translation system allowed members from different worlds to comprehend each other's language effortlessly.
Momonga: "Feels like a virtual chatroom, but I'm clearly not in a virtual game right now…"
Aqua: "You three, join the Axis Cult! Worship the goddess of water!"
Insect Pillar: "A god? Hehe, sounds like some trickery of spirits."
Cat Burglar: "A god? Celestial Dragons! Is this some Celestial Dragon tech?"
Momonga: "Axis Cult… never heard of it."
Aqua: "…"
Aqua: "I am NOT an evil spirit! And definitely not some unlucky Celestial Dragon! I am a goddess! The goddess of water!"
Cat Burglar: "A goddess? If you can beat the Fishmen, I'll consider worshiping you."
Aqua: "…"
Aqua was losing it. How am I supposed to get to your world?!
Exusiai: "Things are lively here. Three new members at once."
Saeko Busujima: "They might be skeptical for now. It's probably best if Tatsuki-kun explains. @Tatsuki, are you there?"
Tatsuki: "I'm here."
In truth, he had already read through the newcomers' conversations and was now lost in thought.
Three new members had joined, and Tatsuki had already identified two of them.
Insect Pillar: Mentioning evil spirits and Blood Demon Arts could only mean Shinobu Kocho, the Insect Hashira from Demon Slayer.
Cat Burglar: References to Celestial Dragons and Fishmen made it obvious—it was Nami from One Piece.
Momonga: The information provided wasn't enough to pinpoint their identity. However, the name reminded him of a certain ID from Overlord: Ainz Ooal Gown, whose real name was Suzuki Satoru.
Having pieced together a rough understanding of the three, Tatsuki decided to address them.
Tatsuki: "@Insect Pillar, @Cat Burglar, @Momonga. Welcome to the Apocalypse Chat Group."
Saeko Busujima: "That's right, we forgot to properly welcome you. Welcome, newcomers."
March 7: "Welcome to the group!"
Exusiai: "Welcome."
Aqua: "Welcome! If you join the Axis Cult, this goddess will give you an even warmer welcome!"
The newcomers ignored Aqua entirely.
Insect Pillar: "Oh? So you're the administrator here. Did you create this place using Blood Demon Arts?"
Tatsuki: "Unfortunately, the Apocalypse Chat Group wasn't created by me."
Tatsuki: "I'm not a subordinate of Muzan Kibutsuji, nor am I a demon, and I don't use Blood Demon Arts. I'm a human, though I likely come from a different world than yours."
Insect Pillar: "You can mention Muzan Kibutsuji's name?!"
She paused. Demons were forbidden from uttering the name of the Demon King, Muzan Kibutsuji.
Insect Pillar: "It seems you really aren't a demon… but then, what is this Apocalypse Chat Group? And what do you mean by us being from different worlds?"
Tatsuki: "The Apocalypse Chat Group is a platform created for worlds experiencing an apocalypse. Everyone in the group comes from a world facing some kind of apocalypse."
Tatsuki: "For example, Saeko Busujima's world is already in the midst of an apocalypse—a zombie apocalypse. These are the kinds of monsters she faces: [Image], [Image]."
The first image showed a close-up of a grotesque zombie, while the second depicted a massive horde of them gathered together.
Cat Burglar: "S-so ugly!"
Momonga: "Zombies are real?!"
…
In the world of Demon Slayer, Shinobu Kocho frowned as she looked at the images from the Butterfly Estate.
The creatures were disgusting and terrifying, but they didn't resemble demons. Instead, they looked like soulless corpses.
A flicker of curiosity passed through her violet eyes. "Are there really other worlds?"
She slowly set down her Nichirin Sword, lowering her guard slightly, and focused on the group chat.
Tatsuki: "You can use your real names as your nicknames. You can also share details about your world's apocalypse. Checking your personal info in the group will tell you more."
Insect Pillar: "Greetings, everyone. I am Shinobu Kocho, the Insect Pillar of the Demon Slayer Corps. My world's apocalypse is listed as [Future Apocalypse (4 Stars)]."
Saeko Busujima: "Same as my world."
Tatsuki: "The demons in Shinobu's world are likely the source of the future apocalypse."
Tatsuki: "Demons and zombies are somewhat similar in nature. There are fewer demons, but they are smarter and far stronger than zombies."
March 7: "So the Demon Slayer Corps is a team dedicated to killing demons?"
Insect Pillar: "That's correct. Our duty is to slay man-eating demons."
Aqua: "Another undead type? I'm great at dealing with those!"
Cat Burglar: "I'm Nami, from Cocoyasi Village. My world's apocalypse is listed as [Abnormal Apocalypse (4 Stars)]."
Momonga: "I'm Momonga. What does [Uncertainty Apocalypse (6 Stars)] mean? Is my world doomed to destruction?"
March 7: "Whoa! You two have different apocalypses! Tatsuki's world also has these kinds of apocalypses.
