Chapter 29: Nightmare
As Keith drifted to sleep, he had a terrible nightmare. He was standing on top of a mountain of corpses. He recognized all of these trillions of corpses as the people he had killed in the last seven-thousand years. He remembered all of their names, blood type, scent and why he killed them in the first place.
He looked at the sky and noticed that the sky was red and the sun was as black as charcoal. He let out a sigh and said, "I guess its that time of the year." Usually, Keith and Merlin would have a dream that would remind him of how many people he killed once every year but what he didn't know was that the dream was going to be a little different.
He jumped from the mountains of corpses and dove right into the sea of blood. Each time he sank deeper; he would have a flashback on how killed his enemies. The deeper he sank the more gruesome did each one of his enemies' deaths become.
He finally sank to the bottom of the sea and what he saw shook him to his core. Everyone that he has ever cared about lay on the ground motionless, blooding pouring from the deep wounds that they had suffered from. All of the dead bodies twisted their heads in a natural way.
They all said in perfect unison, "WHY COULDN'T YOU SAVE US!!!" anger evident in their undead eyes. Those words and the glares coming from his friends and family felt like being pierced by a hundred thousand sharp blades in the heart.
He started to sweat profusely and gasped for air. He took a few steps back in fear and felt that he had stepped on something. He looked back and he saw his brother's body mangled and twisted.
"I died because you," Noah said, his voice filled hatred and anger. Keith took a step a back due to reflex. "Now you will have to pay for what you have done to me!!" he shouted.
Keith felt something gripping his leg tightly. He felt a sudden chill run down his spine but that didn't stop him from checking what was holding his leg firmly. The person who he saw firmly holding his leg was his father.
The man had jet-black hair, pale white skin, beautiful ocean blues eyes and he had a very muscular body. He glared at Keith with a saddened expression.
"I am sorry Keith," he apologized, "If only I was strong enough, you wouldn't have to go through that endless torture." After those word escaped his mouth, he was teleported to the facility where they did all kind of experiments on him.
After he acquired infinite regeneration, they didn't stop experimenting on him. They would use all types of poisons and diseases on him and see if his body was able to fight against them. After his immune system would successfully deal with the diseases and poison, they would use his body to create a serum called the life serum.
This serum didn't grant people infinite regeneration but it did prolong their lifespan and also made them immune to life threatening diseases. This serum was only shared among the dragon monarchs and the Chaos Sins of that time.
Keith looked at his surrounding with a furious look in his eyes. He hated this place more than anything in this entire world. He hated how they experimented on children and they didn't even feel a shred of guilt. He also hated this place because it brought back terrible memories.
They experimented on him and tortured him every single day in the most gruesome way possible. He started walking down the hall way, looking for the exit. He found the exit and smile formed on his face. He walked towards the exit but with each step he took, the gravitational pull became stronger and stronger.
His body released a lot of sweat and he began to feel tired with each step he took because it required a lot of energy and effort to keep himself standing and walking. When he got nearer to the exit, he fell down on the floor.
He tried to crawl towards the exit but his vision became blurry and he fell asleep. When he woke up, he found himself in an endless void of darkness. There was no sign of life anywhere in this place. It was also very silent to the point Keith could hear his own heartbeat.
He walked around for a while and after he got bored, he sat down. "When will this shitty nightmare end?" he asked even though he wasn't expecting an answer from anyone.
"Don't worry it will end soon," A voice announced. Keith didn't panic as he already knew whose did it belong to. It was his voice. A boy then emerged from the shadows. The person looked exactly like Keith but he had black hair and red eyes. This boy also had stitches all over his body.
"What do you want?" Keith asked with annoyed expression on his face.
"I wanted to warn you if you don't get stronger, your mother will die next," he warned him, his voice cold and devoid of emotion.
"What can I do since I can't go to Shadow Earth right now and I can't become a hunter just yet without passing my next exam," he said. Keith knew that he wasn't strong enough to defeat a dragon monarch or a chaos sin. The only thing that could give him a chance to defeat a dragon monarch or a chaos was to get stronger. But right now, he couldn't go to Shadow Earth because the system said they couldn't go for six months because they cleared the first twenty floors. The other option was to become a hunter but the process to becoming a hunter was a very long process, first he had to pass the exam and he then had to choose the class he wants which would definitely be assassin but he had to be in the top five then he would be allowed to take the hunter exam.
"The exam is on a Monday, right?" he asked.
"Yes," he answered.
"Well, you and Merlin are going to have the spend the weekend in my realm," he said. "Activate Chaos Realm," he murmured to himself. Keith and his younger version got teleported to a totally different location.
The sky had an orange-like hue and scorching sun had blueish hue to it. The ground was sandy and Keith was able to tell that he was in a desert. He looked to his right and saw Merlin standing beside. Merlin and Keith looked in the sky and saw the younger version of themselves merging into one. When the merging was complete, a man who looked he was in his twenties appeared.
Half of his hair was black and the other half was white. His right eye was golden and the left eye was crimson red. His face was so handsome that any person would mistake for some deity. He was 6'5 feet tall. He wore black trousers and a black coat that reached his legs.
"What's up dad," Merlin said with a smile on his face.
"This is your father?" Keith asked and Merlin nodded his head. "No wonder you are so handsome."
"Both of you want to get stronger right," he said and the two nodded, "So you'll have to what a Celestial does best. Fight. As you can see here this my Celestial Realm and you two will have to get as strong by killing the monsters in this realm with everything you've got and don't even think of holding back!"
"Now let me explain to you what happens you kill a monster in this realm. Killing monsters here does not grant you Exp so you won't be able to level up but it offers you something better," he said and Merlin and Keith's curiosity piqued trying to think what could make them stronger than leveling up.
"When you kill a monster the same rank as you, their strongest stat is divided by ten and added to allocated to that specific stat. To put it simply if you kill a monster with a high strength stat the stat points are divided by ten and added to your strength stat. If you kill a higher ranked monster the stat points are divided by five." As he was about to disappear, he said, "One more thing. One day on Drakonaria is one-thousand years here."
