Chapter 576: Chapter 576: Jashin-chan Is Actually Quite Strong
"Open a hospital? You're trying to collect those people's DNA, aren't you? Otherwise, why would you bother with something like that?"
The moment she spoke, Takumi knew exactly what Mobius was planning. Her intentions were obvious—she wanted to build a gene bank and record the DNA of every race in Takumi's world.
"Exactly. I plan to build a genetic database. Every race in your world—I want their genes recorded. It'll be a long project."
"Tsk, with more and more worlds merging, the number of races is exploding. I collected a lot before, but it's nowhere near enough now."
She didn't bother hiding her motives. The genetic makeup of all those species was simply too tempting.
"Fine, but don't create anything weird."
Takumi cast her a glance. He was genuinely concerned she'd lose control and create something bizarre.
"Am I that kind of person?"
Mobius wasn't having it. She stopped her work and glared at him.
Careful, or I'll sue for defamation!
"Aren't you?"
Takumi met her gaze without backing down. Surely she knew what kind of person she was—a mad scientist.
"Tch~! I'm not like that anymore. I've changed."
Mobius rolled her eyes and went back to work.
"Since you're here, help me out. Deliver these tails to the Bio Research Department. Klein's out on business, so you're helping me."
While researching, she casually assigned him the task. These tails were very interesting, and there were plenty of new researchers around lately.
Even Orochimaru from the filming set next door had come here for further study. He was now doing grunt work under Mobius's assistants.
Scientists from the One Punch Man world had also joined the lab. The Bio Research Department was actually quite large—even if Mobius's own team only had two members.
Takumi didn't argue. With a wave of his hand, the tails vanished—instantly distributed.
"Tsk. You're getting lazier and lazier using Herrscher powers all the time. What next? Gonna open a portal for... you-know-what, so you don't even have to show up in person?"
Even while working, Mobius noticed what Takumi did.
If he could shortcut something, he would. He'd mastered his abilities to a ridiculous degree.
Takumi twitched slightly.
"You've got some issues. Not showing up in person? That's seriously twisted thinking... and yet, it sounds oddly interesting."
Mobius smirked.
"There's a lot of info online. If you're bored, browse it—clear your mind. You'd be surprised what you can learn. Humanity's fetishes are limitless. People even suggest heating certain parts with fire magic for added stimulation. The creativity is insane."
She wasn't making it up. These were real things people posted online.
Takumi was dumbfounded listening to her ramble.
You've really changed.
Saying stuff like that now, huh?
But then again, Mobius did know a lot. As a biologist, her theory skills were top-notch.
Takumi stood there quietly as Mobius continued her research.
About an hour later, she paused.
"These tails are fascinating. The regeneration is insane. And there's a strange energy inside... but it's turning into Honkai energy. That girl's powers are something else, huh?"
Mobius put her tools down. She had gained sufficient understanding.
"Jashin-chan? Yeah, she's pretty good. Though she's kind of a useless idiot."
Takumi couldn't help but joke.
Jashin-chan had top-tier regeneration and several strange powers. Her flying kick didn't need mentioning, and her sugoroku ability let her control dice—basically a gambler's dream.
She could also absorb angelic power to evolve into Super Jashin-chan. Not to mention her imaginary projection ability.
She might seem like trash, but her strength was no joke. At full power, she could destroy stars.
That's just the kind of absurdity you expect from a gag anime.
"Let me take a look. Maybe I'll strap her to the lab bench one day."
Mobius grew more intrigued as she heard Takumi's explanation. She immediately pulled up Jashin-chan's data.
Takumi laughed.
"Pay her, and she'll probably cooperate. Or just offer to break her curse. Bringing her into the lab isn't a bad idea. She's useless in some areas, but she's a whiz at housework—and her cooking is amazing."
Now that he thought about it, Jashin-chan wasn't so bad. And since they were both snakes, she and Mobius would probably get along.
Mobius nodded. She'd consider it later—no rush.
She skimmed Jashin-chan's file.
"Another Medusa type. The angels in her world are weird too. Hmm... I'll get some of their blood to study. Let's see if angels differ across worlds."
After browsing, she shut down the data.
"Let's go. Day's over. Come home with me. Don't go back tonight."
Work was done. Time to rest.
Of course Takumi knew what she meant.
He left the lab with her.
Mobius's home was in a nearby villa district—mostly inhabited by researchers.
As they walked out, Takumi spotted many familiar faces.
Orochimaru. Genos?
Tsk. So they all came here, huh?
"There's some real talent here."
Takumi couldn't help but nod in approval.
If he could bring Aizen in as a researcher, it'd be perfect.
Now that would be exciting.
The ultimate scientific dream team?
Not bad at all.
"As long as they're capable, we take them all," Mobius said calmly.
No skills? Get lost.
