Chapter 473: Chapter 473: Her Highness Should Really Think It Through
Kokuu was quite curious about Tomoyo's world. It was evident to her that this world had its own cluster of subordinate worlds. She could tell at a glance.
Takumi noticed Kokuu's arrival and greeted her before disappearing to begin constructing the gateway inside Tomoyo's world.
Kokuu glanced around but didn't overthink it. All she had to do now was quietly watch. When Takumi was ready to go to Little Garden, he would definitely let her know, so there was no need to rush. With that thought, Kokuu vanished and went off to find Ophis and the others.
Inside Tomoyo's world, Takumi arrived in her nation. By now, Tomoyo had finished discussing everything with her ministers and was seated in the courtyard of her estate. When she saw Takumi appear, her eyes lit up.
"Is everything ready?"
Takumi's arrival meant the world had been settled.
"All prepared. We just need to build the portal. Choose a location, and from now on, your country can be the entry point to my world. There are quite a few countries in this world. Why not use this opportunity to elevate your nation's status? Should I also send over some guards?"
Takumi stared intently at Tomoyo as he spoke.
Tomoyo's world didn't consist solely of her own nation. Her country was, in fact, just a small one. News about the portal would spread, and once other nations realized Tomoyo's country had such a connection, they would definitely take interest.
That's why Takumi offered to send over mechanical guardians. Even though Tomoyo's strength made other nations treat her kindly, wealth always tempted people. She understood this well, and upon hearing Takumi's words, her eyes curved into crescent moons.
"Thank you! That helps a lot~! I'm really grateful, Takumi."
Being understood felt wonderful. Tomoyo was genuinely happy.
"Once the portal is built, I'll send over the mechanical guardians. You just need to assign someone to manage them. They'll handle your nation's security well."
Takumi had made his decision. With that settled, they began discussing the portal's location.
Tomoyo had already decided with her ministers.
"Follow me. It's best to place it in a wide open area. After all, a lot of people will be coming and going in the future."
The buildings in her country were quite small—nothing compared to those in Takumi's world. Most were tightly packed together. Since this was a more ancient civilization, careful planning was essential.
They had to consider future development. It wasn't as simple as just placing the portal somewhere randomly. Inconvenient traffic would be a problem. That's why they chose to build the portal outside the city.
Later, they would construct a new city there. With a connection to Takumi's world, many things would be transported here. She also planned to introduce science and technology to her people and even send some to study in Takumi's world.
As they left the royal estate, Tomoyo shared all of this with Takumi.
Hearing her plans, Takumi smiled.
"Let your ministers negotiate with my people on that. They'll likely agree, so you don't need to worry. Let your subordinates handle it all. You just focus on being a beautiful princess. Leave the headaches to them."
Tomoyo couldn't help but smile.
"Alright. I'll have my ministers handle the talks."
As they chatted, the two of them walked out of the royal estate. Takumi didn't teleport them but instead strolled casually with Tomoyo. Outside, the carriage was ready.
Its windows were open, so people outside could see in. As they passed through the city, many people saw Tomoyo and bowed respectfully. Her popularity in the country was sky-high. She was the kind and gentle princess adored by all—a national idol.
Seeing Takumi and Tomoyo sitting together in the carriage puzzled many.
Could he be the princess's consort?
Whispers broke out immediately. Naturally, Takumi could hear them all. Listening to the people speculate, his mouth twitched.
Was he really being mistaken for her consort just for sitting in the same carriage?
No one thought he might be a guard or something?
Why were they all so gleeful about it?
What's with those delighted looks, like the princess had finally found herself a man?
Takumi was speechless at the reaction.
He glanced at Tomoyo, who looked equally exasperated. Clearly, she was just as frustrated by the people's assumptions.
That thought made Takumi quietly amused.
The carriage rolled through the city. After more than half an hour, they finally left the gates. This alone showed how small the city truly was—just a modest nation.
Outside the city, Tomoyo pointed to an open field not far ahead.
"Right here. Place the teleportation array here."
This was the spot she had chosen. Only a few scattered people lived here, mostly those who had moved out due to the city being overcrowded.
Takumi looked around and nodded. He immediately got to work.
Activating his powers, he restructured the land and even built a few structures along the way. Once everything was ready, he began constructing the portal.
A gate large enough for starships soon appeared on the plain.
After finishing the magic circle, Takumi summoned a few mechanical guardians and let them take charge. He also connected them to the network, allowing them to download necessary data.
With everything in place, Takumi returned to Tomoyo and said:
"I'll head back and finish things on my side. When it's ready, the mechanical guardians will inform you. You can command them freely. Tell them to do whatever you need."
He pointed at the mechanical beings he had created.
Tomoyo nodded.
"Alright. You go ahead. I'll have my ministers take over management here."
Looking at the area before her, Tomoyo knew she would now have to plan and build an entirely new city.
