Angel Monarch

Chapter 521: Unleashed Violence

Melinda's eyes snapped towards the blurry figure, a giant sabertooth tiger, similar to Damien's other form. However, this tiger had dark fur and didn't carry the same chilly feeling as Damien's transformation.

The beast bit down on the Einherjer's throat, then tossed the bleeding, unconscious body away. She then charged towards a different group of attackers, and after knocking them out too, she appeared at Melinda's side.

Blood dripped from the large cat's teeth as its form began changing rapidly until a familiar dark-skinned beauty kneeled beside Melinda.

Kathy grinned down at Melinda, her arms wrapped around her shoulders. She helped her to a standing position, while a Valkyrie attempted to impale both women.

A shiver ran across Melinda's body. She tried calling out to Kathy to watch out, but her throat still hadn't fully healed. Melinda couldn't do anything but watch with helpless eyes as the Valkyrie's golden spear closed in.

But just before the spear could've connected with Kathy's back, a tall, metallic gray-haired woman appeared before them. Her muscles bulged as a spiky metal cover grew around her fingers, and she punched the Valkyrie's chest with all her might.

The golden shield around her body held, yet the punch halted her momentum. That's when Yvonne's other fist appeared and punched the same spot with the same power.

In the next moment, she continued punching the same spot dozens of times, until the shield broke. Her last punch sent the Valkyrie flying backward, straight into a carved golden pillar.

"Don't worry, Melinda! I brought reinforcements!" declared Kathy loud enough for everyone to hear. She then leaned closer and whispered into Melinda's ear... "I also sent the message, so Vicky's probably watching and will send help if necessary!"

Melinda breathed a sigh of relief. If she contacted Vicky, then Sera's probably on standby as well, and she would save everyone if things escalated further... And it seemed the escalation only just begun...

She glanced around as the number of shouts vastly increased. All the other fourteen members of their group moved between groups of Einherjer and fought against flying Valkyries.

They didn't kill anyone, which made Lucy's weapons and abilities useless. Reapers were amazing at slaughtering their targets, but they didn't have any nonlethal attacks.

Leslie suffered from a similar issue, since his pure destructive power and rage-filled blood didn't have room for mercy.

Everyone else had no such problems. They danced through groups of enemies, knocking them out by the dozen. Cass was especially adept, since her illusions fought separately from the main body... which wasn't even fighting...

From the few hundred people Melinda knocked out in about ten seconds, the number quickly reached the few thousands.

Unconscious Einherjers and Valkyries covered the golden floor. They mixed in with the broken, upturned furniture, spilled food and drinks, and broken plates. Their discarded weapons lay nearby too, further cluttering the floor.

After a minute, no Einherjers or Valkyries came to attack the group of sixteen powerful envoys, who stood above a sea of unconscious bodies. Instead, they stood at the edge of the hall with wide grins, clearly awaiting something with unbearable anticipation.

Melinda glanced around the hall, looking for a specific person. Her heart pounded fast as she felt a wave of terror wash over her body.

She turned towards Lucy, since she stood the closest to Melinda...

"Where's Thor?" she asked, and just as Lucy glanced at the Plague, a large, hammer-sized hole appeared in the Reaper's chest.

Electricity shocked Lucy's body as a wave of blood hit Melinda's face.

A moment later, Lucy fell over unconscious and barely alive, while Thor's one-handed hammer hit its next target, David, who attempted to form a Time Loop. The hammer didn't kill him either, but only because Cass sacrificed a few dozen illusions to save him.

Caught off guard, everybody turned towards the flying hammer, and couldn't react as the three meter tall giant charged into their midst. His fist connected with Kim's head, which crumpled her body.

He then grabbed the unconscious snake-woman's tail and tossed her at Astrid. She didn't summon her golden shield, instead opting to catch her friend, which was exactly what Thor wanted.

Just as Astrid's hands caught Kim's body firmly, she felt a sharp object pierce through most of her body. Thor threw a discarded golden spear up through Astrid's groin, through her abdomen, chest, and finally, it pierced her spine near her neck.

The Valkyrie, still holding Kim's body, fell to the ground with a painful crunch.

Thor used everyone's surprise to knock out Conrad, Morren, Percy and Will. However, eventually, his job became difficult, as Yannick and Leslie focused on him.

The hammer returned to the giant's hand, and electricity danced along his hairy skin. He screamed in fury and shot out a powerful beam of energy at Leslie's flying form.

The Rage Demon's black, hellish armor covered his body, while the pair of flame wings propelled him towards Thor. His blood boiled with pure hatred as he summoned his black halberd with its flaming blade.

The flames became dark crimson as he focused all his power into the halberd's tip.

The beam of electricity met the halberd's blade, and pushed Leslie back towards the ceiling. However, he continued to struggle and gain ground against the constant force of Thor's weapon.

Back on the ground, the God of Thunder released Mjölnir's handle, but the weapon continued shooting electricity, keeping the Demon occupied.

Thor didn't get a chance to find a new prey though, as soon a sharp sword stabbed through his chest. Yvonne's usually tall form got dwarfed by the primordial god's enormous figure. She didn't even manage to hit Thor's heart, because of the size difference.

The giant man grinned and chuckled. He punched towards Yvonne, who promptly evaded the blow, and summoned a long glaive, while Thor broke the sword's handle, leaving the blade in his chest.

Anger consumed Yvonne's face as she charged towards Thor for the second time. The God of Thunder chuckled again, while electricity continued dancing along his skin.

Suddenly, lightning struck from the sky as raindrops fell inside the golden hall. Heavy winds lifted discarded items and weapons as a giant tornado formed with Sarah at its eye.

The wind's speed continued increasing. It pushed away unconscious bodies of Einherjers and Valkyries, yet left all of Sarah's friends undisturbed.

The storm reduced Thor's line of sight, giving Yvonne ample opportunity to attack, and she wasn't alone. Through the storm, a wild beast rushed through.

It stood over four meters tall, on a pair of humanoid dark furry legs, which lacked muscle yet propelled the creature forward with vast speed. Her disturbingly long arms had six long claws, which looked similar to curved swords.

The beast's head had a long snoot with multiple rows of razor-sharp teeth that darted back and forth, like the blades of a chainsaw.

Kathy didn't make a sound as she snuck up behind Thor. She simply used her claws to rake open both of the primordial god's legs, then bit down on his lower right arm. Her chainsaw-like teeth cut through skin and muscle easily, reaching the bone within moments.

At the same time, Yvonne's glaive slashed through Thor's upper left arm, cutting through muscle and bone. With a shower of blood, his arm fell to the ground as a loud scream echoed from her throat. It sounded similar to thunder, shaking everyone to their core.

Thor clenched his teeth as his face scrunched up in pain and hatred. His right arm barely held on, while Kathy continued chewing away at his bones.

He swung his arm towards Yvonne fast enough to send the giant beast flying with the lower part of his right arm. She hit the tall woman, and both scrunched against the ground, unconscious.

A rain of swords and spears hit Thor's body, as the wind carried thousands of discarded weapons. However, he didn't care as both arms regenerated.

The giant god stepped towards Sarah when he suddenly lifted into the air. A powerful force began pulling his body.

The primordial being glanced around and saw a giant darkness floating midair. He looked quite surprised, but a moment later his eyes landed on the person flying above the void.

His usually covered eyes now stared right at the God of Thunder. Two bare sockets, containing an endless black void within.

There was nothing Thor could've done against Yannick's power. He shot lightning towards him, which immediately bent and got absorbed into the darkness below. Thor then tried using the wind to his advantage, but the void's pull was simply too strong.

He should've lost the battle, but that's when something strange and unexpected happened.

Leslie finally reached Mjölnir and hit the floating hammer with his halberd's overcharged blade. The weapon flew into the air, behind Yannick. It somehow remained unaffected by the void, and left the disturbing, eyeless man defenseless.

A wide grin grew on Thor's lips as he reached out. Mjölnir suddenly flew towards the primordial god's outstretched hand, hitting Yannick's head in the process.

The void sphere collapsed as Yannick fell to the ground unconscious and bleeding heavily.

The Rage Demon didn't even care for his friend as he rushed towards Thor. Another beam of electricity hit Leslie, but this time, in the chest. Even then, he didn't fall unconscious, but he fell to his knees, halting his approach.

Sarah rained more weapons down, but it only slowed down Thor, and soon his fist connected with her chest. The storm ended as Sarah fell to the ground unconscious.

As the rain and wind settled, only two people remained in fighting condition. Melinda, who trembled and felt sick, her face still covered in Lucy's blood, and her girlfriend... Joan, whose body danced with electricity, same as Thor's...
