Ancient Magic From The Stars

Hyacinth POV

Dad walked down the path to one of the seven greenhouses and walked in while yelling out, "Pokey I'm back and I brought Cinthy come out from your tree house and say hello." Dad had a large smile on his face as a small older house elf came out from what looked to be the hallow of a tree. He was older with grey hair and big brown eyes with a large nose, but he looked healthy and well taken care of. 

Dad smiled down at the elf and said, "Pokey this is Hyacinth Potter-Black, James' daughter. Cinthy this is Pokey he used to give your father and I all the ingredients for some of our best prank potions." I looked at the older elf and smiled, "It's nice to meet you Pokey." 

He looked almost as excited as Tilly was when he said, "Its so nice to see the little missy again. You used to love the gardens when Master James would bring you. I still have the basket we would put you in when you slept. I'm so glad your home Miss Cinthy." He is so cute and I can feel his love for me so I hugged him and said, "It's good to be home Pokey. Maybe you can teach me about the greenhouses later if you have time." He hugged me back with tears in his eyes and said, "I would love nothing more than to teach my little miss Cinthy." He then turned and started to walk away to start the tour of Greenhouse 1. 

Greenhouse 1 was mostly ivy, flowers and herbs for cooking at Tilly's request. It had a pathway leading you through it and this strange pink bug flying around curious I asked, "What is that called Pokey?" Pokey looked at the flying insect and said, "Oh, that be a Rosewing they like to make nectar from the flowers in here. Its really delicious." 

Greenhouse 2 looked slightly more exotic, it had what looked like snakes made of plants wrapping around a post and hanging from the celling. Pokey noticing me starring at them said, "Those are Dinoflora, it is a sentient plant that takes on the shape of snakes. It likes sunlight and will always stretch to find it at times it will also sway when happy or agitated." I nodded and Dad laughed before saying, "They make an interesting ingredient for potions. Your dad and I came up with some fun ways of using them. Just don't make them angry they bite and as far as I remember Potter manor has the last known ones in existence so we want to keep them around." I look at the Dinoflora with a newfound appreciation before moving on. 

Greenhouse 3 was far less colorful than the other two but it did have floating drops of water in the air and greenery all around with little floating island in the center of a large pond. Pokey got and odd smile and so did Dad and he cast a spell that put a bubble of air around my head I looked at him confused as he laughed and said, "It's the bubble head charm you will need it to see what is under the waters surface." 

I was well and truly shocked by what I saw. It turns out those tiny islands are not so tiny under water. It is like a giant underwater cave system with plants everywhere and even an underwater cave for some plants that need that kind of environment to grow. I could stay down here for days and never get bored with what I am seeing. Dad and Pokey were swimming next to me before Dad pulled me back up to the surface. With a pout I said, "Why did you pull me out? I was having so much fun." Dad laughed and said, "Trust me pup I get it but it's time for lunch and you do not want to get on Tilly's bad side that elf can get even with the best of them. I should know I have faced her wraith a few times." I just looked at him for a short while before nodding. 'I will be back though' I thought as i followed Dad back into the kitchen with Tilly she had set up a nice simple meal with lost of fresh vegetables and fruits. Lunch was otherwise uneventful we spent it talking about Dad and my fathers childhood running around the manor creating chaos with pranks and having fun with their friend Remus who I will get to meet later this week. Dad is a little upset with him because he let me be left with the Dursley's without checking up on me, but he was willing to hear him out before jumping down his throat. 

I Finished up my meal, looked at Tilly and said, "Lunch was great thank you Tilly" She blushed and said, "Anything for you Missy Cinthy." I smiled at her because she is so sweet, Dad smiled as well and winked at me before he said, "Tills we are going to head over to the Lords Hall so we can wake the portraits." Tilley almost vibrated with excitement at the news and all but squealed, "Yes master Siri. Tilley will make sure your rooms are clean." She got quiet for a second and looked somber before she said, "Umm... Master Siri will you be sleeping in your old room or Master Jamie's room?" Dad sighed but said, "I'll take James' room its closer to Cinthy and I think it will help me settle in by feeling closer to James." Tilley just nodded and popped off to handle her chores.
