Ancient Dragon Elephant Technique

Chapter 38: Star-picking Hand

The stone hall exuded a chilling and terrifying aura, causing Lin Feng to frown slightly.

He found nothing in the first layer of the stone hall, so Lin Feng ventured deeper into the first layer of the divine hall.

There, a gigantic stone gate stood before him.

Lin Feng exerted force against the stone gate.

The gate was tremendously heavy, and it took him every ounce of strength he had to push it open.

"Roar..."

As soon as the gate was ajar, a roar sounded from the vast second layer of the stone hall.

Immediately afterward, a golden giant charged out, brandishing a stone hammer as it swung ferociously at Lin Feng.

"I'm going to die."

Lin Feng turned pale with fear, collapsing to the ground in fright.

But the golden giant swinging the stone hammer at him dissipated into nothingness.

"It's just an image."

Lin Feng let out a sigh of relief, having been greatly startled.

He climbed to his feet, entered the second layer of the stone hall, and beheld a veritable heap of gigantic bones.

The bones all bore the hue of gold.

Perhaps due to the passage of countless years, many of the bones had decayed, crumbling to dust with a mere pinch.

"How can there be so many bones?"

Gazing at the bones scattered across the hall, Lin Feng was moved.

"Hmm, these array patterns are..."

Soon, Lin Feng noticed the array patterns on the ground. Despite the endless passage of time, the patterns remained incredibly clear.

"An altar, this is an altar for ancient sacrifices; is the second layer of the hall an altar?"

Lin Feng frowned.

The ancient ancestors held sacrifices, setting up an altar.

Array patterns swirled around the altar, connecting heaven and earth, and the divine.

Lin Feng had by now become a Heavenly Stage Spiritual Array Master and had gained some understanding of the ancient sacrificial techniques.

"These are the bones of golden giants," a demon monarch sitting atop a lonely grave said.

"Golden giant bones?" Lin Feng was taken aback.

Such an enormous hall, with bones covering its entire expanse, and they were the bones of golden giants.

How many golden giants would have to be slain to fill the whole hall with their bones?

What on earth happened in those years past?

Who killed so many golden giants?

Was the unknown entity slaying these golden giants in order to use them as sacrifices to start a ritual?

Questions filled Lin Feng's mind, leaving him puzzled.

Lin Feng asked, "Demon Monarch, do you believe something is amiss here?"

The Demon Monarch replied, "That, I'm unsure of; only those who lived then would know."

With those words, the demon monarch fell silent.

"Are there any usable golden giant bones left?"

Lin Feng searched the hall, hoping to find any golden giant bone that hadn't decayed.

That way, upon returning to Heavenly Saint City, he could ask the mysterious Forging Master to help him craft the Seven Treasures Glazed Tower into a true Tao Artifact.

There were many bones from golden giants, but most had already decayed.

"Is this a king bone?"

Finally, Lin Feng found a piece of bone from a golden giant that was extraordinary.

It was enveloped in runes, and even after endless ages, its energy hadn't dissipated; it was likely a bone from the Golden Giant King.

For the other bones had long since decayed, while this one remained so well preserved.

He picked up this golden giant bone and continued his search.

He found nothing more; the rest of the golden giant bones were all eroded by time.

Lin Feng then ventured deeper into the second layer hall, attempting to push open the stone gate within, but found himself unable to budge it; the gate was too heavy.

Lin Feng had no choice but to return.

"What did you find?" Liuu Piaomiao asked.

"Bones everywhere; the gate to the third-layer hall won't open, so I don't know what's inside,"

Lin Feng replied.

He then inquired, "Do you feel any better now?"

Hearing Lin Feng's concern warmed Liuu Piaomiao's heart slightly.

She nodded.

The two then fell into silence.

After a while, Liuu Piaomiao said, "Actually, my name is not Liuu Yiyi, but Liuu Piaomiao."

Previous years, when Lin Feng asked her name, she had said Liuu Yiyi, concealing her real name.

Lin Feng was a little surprised, something he hadn't anticipated, though he quickly understood.

Liuu Piaomiao had always been active in East County Divine Land and was likely a cultivator from there, and at her age and skill, aside from Liuu Piaomiao, it would be hard to find another person.

Liuu Yiyi was just an alias for Liuu Piaomiao; Lin Feng should have figured it out earlier.

He nodded slightly and said nothing more, then sat cross-legged to heal, as he too was injured, and the immediate priority was to recover.

Liuu Piaomiao felt a vague sense of loss at Lin Feng's indifference.

Though she deliberately kept him at a distance,

in her heart, she hoped Lin Feng still truly cared for her.

As night fell, the stone hall grew ever darker, the chilling aura enveloping it entirely.

Lin Feng awoke, his injuries mostly healed.

Lin Feng went to the entrance of the hall and found it was guarded by golden giants, making escape impossible.

This made Lin Feng frown slightly.

"What's happening outside?" Liuu Piaomiao asked.

"Golden giants are guarding it, seemingly to trap us, so for now, we can only wait,"

Lin Feng replied.

Deep into the night, a golden giant returned.

This golden giant was by far the largest, towering over four hundred meters high.

Upon its return, many golden giants cheered in chorus.

"Could that be the Golden Giant King?"

Lin Feng pondered.

A resounding clamor ensued.

The Golden Giant King tossed a massive stone onto the ground.

Under the night sky, the stone emitted a golden yinyun glow.

Many golden giants gathered around the stone, bowing to it.

"Golden light? That seems like Buddhist karma, a meteorite that fell,"

Liuu Piaomiao exclaimed.

Lin Feng nodded, a hint of excitement appearing, "Yes, it is a fallen meteorite. It's unexpected that the Golden Giant King found a meteorite."

By the depths of night, most golden giants were resting, except for five or six keeping watch and the golden giant guarding the stone hall entrance, who remained awake.

Beams of moonlight power cascaded down as the outer space meteorite gleamed with a yinyun shine, golden divine light swirling around.

Lin Feng and Liuu Piaomiao both sat cross-legged on the stone steps, observing the outer space meteorite from a distance, hoping to gain insight from it.

Gradually, Lin Feng entered a profound and ineffable state, as if transported to an ancient land, where he saw a fire ape, standing beneath the starry sky.

The fire ape reached out and grasped the stars from the outer heavens with its mighty hand.

It was wielding the ancient divine ability, the star-picking hand.

Legend has it that the ancient divine ability, the star-picking hand, could grasp stars from the farthest reaches of the starry sky world.

Now, the fire ape showcased the terrifying prowess of the star-picking hand.

It was truly a peerless absolute skill.
