Chapter 846: Can't I Just Like Them?
"Wang Dachui, your examination has been completed. We'll start evaluating your test first, and talk about the rest later!"
The young man from the Divine Hoax civilization had heard about Valan's style. When they decided to be shameless, they didn't care who you were or what your background was. If they wanted to mess with you, they could do it.
For some reason, even in this Artifact Refiner Association teeming with experts, he had a vague intuition that if he clashed with this Wang Dachui, no one could actually restrain him.
He was also very clear that the three Artifact Refining Masters' attitude towards Fang Jueyu had already caused him strong displeasure. If given the chance, he would definitely find a way to punish these three masters.
In this situation, the best way was to play the peacemaker, alienate the so-called weird tuition issue, so he quickly changed the topic.
"Yes, yes, yes, you three hurry and help me score!" Fang Jueyu placed the iron rod directly in front of them, "Old Five, untie them!"
"Yes, boss!" Siria, swift as ever, untied the special ropes. After being bound for a few hours, their blood circulation was somewhat uncomfortable.
Nonetheless, despite the questionable character of these Artifact Refining Masters, their professional skills were still extremely high. They possessed an almost fanatical attitude towards artifact refining; otherwise, they wouldn't have achieved such accomplishments at their age.
Seeing this iron rod, they immediately approached it like it was a beautiful piece of art.
"Let me test its strength first!" Master Nuo Sang took out a rather imposing Ship-Slicing Saber, a third-tier weapon, a product of his earlier works.
The materials used for this Ship-Slicing Saber were extremely rare, and he had poured a lot of effort into it. It was the weapon he kept during his Divine Ability User phase, having sliced countless third-tier weapons under it.
Later, when he upgraded to an Artifact Refining Master, this Ship-Slicing Saber was kept as a memento, brought out only on rare occasions.
Despite being stored away for thousands of years, the Ship-Slicing Saber remained dazzlingly sharp. It was said that its strength was close to ordinary fourth-tier weapons!
"Your iron rod looks good, but I wonder if it's as sturdy in actual use!" Nuo Sang had great confidence in his work; even if it faced off against a fourth-tier weapon, it wouldn't suffer too much.
If the weapon forged by Fang Jueyu couldn't even withstand an attack from his Ship-Slicing Saber, then there was no point in conducting any meaningless tests.
"Master, feel free to test it. If my piece gets damaged, I won't utter a single word!"
"Good! It's a good thing for young people to have confidence!" Nuo Sang mustered his Cosmic Source Power, and the runes on the Ship-Slicing Saber instantly activated, emitting a glowing radiance.
No one noticed, however, that there was a sly hint in Nuo Sang's smile.
The Ship-Slicing Saber was indeed a third-tier weapon, but it included some fourth-tier materials and also had a fourth-tier rune engraved. Once activated, its power wouldn't be weaker than a fourth-tier weapon!
"Whoosh!" Accompanied by a piercing sound, the Ship-Slicing Saber slashed fiercely at the iron rod crafted by Fang Jueyu.
"Buzz!" A deafening bell-like sound echoed from within the iron rod, which began to vibrate with an extremely high frequency without any external force, surpassing even the frequency of a high-frequency Particle Vibration Blade!
"Ping!" With a crisp sound, a few fragments shot out and embedded deeply into the walls.
"How could this happen!" Nuo Sang looked at his Ship-Slicing Saber with both shock and heartache. A huge notch had appeared on the blade, and even the unbroken parts were riddled with cracks.
"The weapon he crafted actually possesses self-protective capabilities!" The other two masters immediately noticed the mystery. Stimulated by external energy, this iron rod had activated such capabilities, a level of skill attainable by only the most accomplished Artifact Refining Masters!
None of the three possessed this ability!
"Not only that, but the purity of the materials he used is almost at the theoretical maximum!" The only female Artifact Refining Master caressed the rod, which remained incredibly smooth even after such a harsh strike.
"What's happening? Why do I feel it getting hotter?" Pareya touched the iron rod, feeling an intense heat emanating from its surface.
"Oh, this Jingu Bang is male; naturally, it reacts in a way characteristic of males when encountering women!" Fang Jueyu said with a straight face.
"Nonsense, I've never heard of weapons being gendered!" Pareya clearly didn't believe it.
"That's because you're ignorant!" Fang Jueyu suddenly laughed slyly, "If you don't believe me, touch it a couple more times and you'll find out."
"Hmm?" Curiously, Pareya stroked the iron rod a couple more times, and the temperature of the Ocean Stabilizing God Needle almost reached the point where it could fry an egg!
Just then, a column of water shot out from its tip.
"Tsss!" With a cloud of steam, the iron rod finally cooled down.
"See," Fang Jueyu spread his hands, "Infinite Buddha, a monk never lies!"
"You! Shameless!" Pareya, despite being a Martial Artist and an Artifact Refiner, was still a woman, and similar human civilizations often shared certain similar constructs. Soaked through, she realized Fang Jueyu's perverted design.
Fang Jueyu's purpose was to disgust them; he just engraved a couple more runes on the Ocean Stabilizing God Needle.
"How am I shameless?" Fang Jueyu said with a face full of grievance, "Are you the one who's perverted? My design is so user-friendly. In case of a fire, just stroke it to activate the runes and spray water to put it out. It's definitely an essential firefighting tool!"
Pareya wanted to say more, but her verbal skills paled in comparison to Fang Jueyu. Plus, she didn't have Fang Jueyu's shamelessness, so she could only stew in her anger at the side.
"Alright, Masters, can you give me the final examination result now?" Fang Jueyu laughed.
The faces of the three masters turned a mix of red and blue. From their hearts, they absolutely didn't want Fang Jueyu to earn the title of Artifact Refining Master, as his antics earlier were unforgivable.
However, his work showcased abilities far beyond theirs. If he wasn't qualified to become an Artifact Refining Master, then none of the three could be qualified either.
"Consider yourself lucky!" Paless glared at Fang Jueyu and gave him a passing vote.
"Thank you, Master!" Fang Jueyu said, grinning cheekily, "If you like this piece, feel free to take it!"
"You're quite good indeed!" Dorov, the most open-minded of the three, laughed it off and also gave Fang Jueyu a pass.
"I think this work is just mediocre, all flashy without substance, wasting so many good materials!"
Two of them had already passed Fang Jueyu. According to the rules, the examination for an Artifact Refining Master required at least three masters to be present, and more than half must give a passing vote for the exam to be cleared.
Realizing that he couldn't change anything, Nuo Sang naturally wanted to annoy Fang Jueyu, as his long-followed work and keepsake had been ruined by this iron rod, which pained him deeply.
"Congratulations, Wang Dachui!" Valan showed a relieved smile, "I do not have the authority to grant the badge and uniform for an Artifact Refining Master. You can collect them once the association procedures are done."
"Thank you, Master Valan, for your help," Fang Jueyu slightly bowed. Valan truly was a decent person.
"Masters, thank you for coming!" Valan said to the three.
The three of them couldn't wait to leave this testing hall, so they turned around to leave.
"Wait, did I say you could leave?" Fang Jueyu's cold voice suddenly rang out, "Didn't I just say earlier? You watched my refining process, learned so much from it, shouldn't you pay some tuition fees?"
Their faces immediately changed. Indeed, they had learned a thing or two from Fang Jueyu's refining process, but they were absolutely unwilling to pay tuition fees.
"Oh, by the way, Master Paless and Master Dorov, you two can go ahead. This class is free for you! Master Nuosang, would you prefer cash or a transfer?" Fang Jueyu asked mockingly.
"Why do they get to leave?" Nuosang said, unconvinced.
Fang Jueyu put his hands on his hips, "Can I just find them pleasing to the eye?"
