Ancestral Lineage

Chapter 398: Aftermath

A white-haired man with beautiful golden eyes floated above Anbord with a proud smile on his face. His hair swayed behind him as he watched Trevor and Dennise's battle with a proud expression. From where he floated, one could see that there seemed to be a rip in reality. Like an abnormality in the reality and this was where the current one-sided war was happening.

Zark smiled when he remembered Ethan's discussion with him before he went into seclusion.

"Dad, could you please help us in the upcoming war?" Ethan said with a hint of expectation in his voice.

"I wish I could, but I'm too powerful for this world and beings like me have a lot of restrictions in the works of mortals. I'm sorr..." Zark answered with an apologetic expression, but Ethan stopped him.

"I don't mean fight. What I mean is that, could you at least assist the others in the war? I want you to separate the battles from the civilians, but I don't want Trevor and the others to be aware of what you really did. They have a plan in place to protect the civilians, but that isn't enough to assure no casualty. So, if you could..."

"Oh, I get it. That should be fairly easy. Don't worry."

"I'm sorry for asking you to do something like this. If only I was here... I always have something else coming up anytime I'm really needed."

"I understand. I've been watching ever since you got the system and I know how you feel, but all this is for the best. This would be your true evolution and after that, you will be battling Saint Realm and above beings. Beings who could threaten the empire with just their presences. This is needed for the greater good. Besides, have faith in your family. They are strong enough to take on this. Leave it to them."

"Thank you, Dad."

...

"We have a potential Primordial from Anbord now..." Zark muttered in a calm tone, his eyes taking on a radiant glow with spear-shaped pupils for a second, before going back to normal. He turned towards the place and smiled.

"It seems it's over. I wonder how Ethan is doing up there..." He muttered one last time before snapping his fingers.

Looking at the battlefield, one could see that it was literally getting erased from reality, like it had been drawn or painted there. And that was what had actually been done there. Upon Ethan's request, Zark created a mirror dimension of Anbord and led everyone, both friend and foe to the place. Even the barrier that Reginald and Jerry had created earlier was made here.

Of course they were being protected, so they weren't in any harm. What Zark did was to just set the pace for them and the rest was history. He even thought that the wives and the other ancestors would join the battle, but this had exceeded his expectations.

Not only did Trevor advance to the Emperor Realm, but he totally dominated his stepbrother who was also at the Emperor Realm, and he didn't even go all out.

"This Ancestor status is really something... they are gods above and even above arbiters... Things are really getting interesting,"

With one last look at the place which had returned to normal, like there was never a battle, he disappeared.

...

Trevor and the others paced about in the grand living room of their mansion, confusion clearly on their faces.

"There was no casualty. Not a single one," Harley spoke in a quiet voice, her expression calm, but a bit scared at the fact that there was an unknown factor in their midst. Her hands softly caressed her bulging belly as she spoke.

"What do you think is the cause? It's like there wasn't even a battle in the first place, but Regi and Jerry are still in their positions. And I've got Dennise with me. So, what is the catch here?" Trevor was on the verge of tearing his hairs out.

If there really was someone so powerful in Anbord, then weren't they doomed. The person erased all evidence of a battle. Even the place was back to normal. It was like time had been reversed specifically there and everything was back to normal. Even the civilians had no idea of a battle.

"Aren't you all thinking a bit too much about this?" Seraphis suddenly spoke, catching their attention. Her hair was untied today, and her usual blue skin had become a bit pale. She was either pregnant or on the verge of an evolution as was in her biology as an Ice Spirit.

"What do you mean?" Lisa asked.

"Well, do you see Asteria around?" Seraphis asked back, causing them to look around in confusion until realization dawned upon them.

"You mean she did something?" Cassandra was doubtful. She didn't know just how powerful Asteria as everything had been moving too fast for them to study one another properly.

"It is a possibility. She's a god after all. And besides, father-in-law is also around," Seraphis said with clear conviction in her voice, causing Trevor to stop walking around.

"Now that you say, sister Asteria is truly a god, but she sealed her divinity. She won't be able to do it. At most, she's currently at the Saint Realm, the same for Barki and Amara. This only leaves father.

He's still a divine being..." At Trevor's words, they all came to a realization. They had been played!

The battle was nothing, but a simulation and they didn't feel good about it. Although they understood that it was done on their behalf so that they could fight to their hearts' content, it didn't sit well with them.

"I'm going to fucking kill that guy!" Trevor exclaimed as he plopped down in the sofa beside a sleepy Elaine. Her long green hair had strands of whitish grey in them, while her horns had become thinner and shaped like branches. Her spilled over the sofa.

"Sister, aren't you worried about your husband?" Trevor asked Elaine with a smile.

"Don't talk to me about Ethan. He hasn't taken responsibility for my growing child..." Elaine said in a quiet, tired voice, but everyone heard her clearly.

"Honey? You mean..." Pisces asked in shock as she almost dropped the plate of cookies she was holding.

"What? What's so shocking about it? Carmen is also pregnant. And Andriel and Clara too."

Silence! Pin drop silence enveloped the room as a chill spread through the place.

"It seems the peaceful times are over..." Lusamine said with a wry smile, as she took out her phone to watch A-Tube.

...

In a place filled with stars, galaxies and planets, a huge figure of a beast slept. Everything about it screamed DIVINE!

Divine authority. Absolute dominance. Order.

The beast, who was actually Ethan in his true Primord form suddenly opened his eyes, one a deep and domineering gold and the other a beautiful and mesmerizing silver.

His body suddenly shivered as he felt a chill pass through his spine.

"Why did it suddenly turn chilly? Does it snow in the cosmos?" He asked out loud, before closing his eyes to sleep again.

He wasn't actually sleeping but consolidating his powers. He was learning most of the things his new and true race brought. Plus, he was now officially a true Saint. No false saint dilemma or drama.

He was in the Saint Realm, truly and he felt great. Though, he felt chills from time to time.

If only he knew...
