An Uncaring Anomaly

Chapter 14: Challenge round PT 2

I really should have attacked first when I saw the ground units actually have Air units in the ranks. Somewhat knowing the dangers of the Tyranid species I use my m1919 and begin firing. What I noticed was I didn't have the fire power to kill them quick enough. I was doing damage with the small bullets but not enough.

I went straight to high caliber, 200 per shot. Killing the small fry were easy as well as most of the air units, And dealing good damage to the gaunts. Unfortunately the cost was to great and they were really fast. 'Still sucks that I'm four foot ten and a halve.' Thinking quickly I removed the friction on the sole of my feet, Using the wind to power my movement I had to speed up to dodge the acids and spikes that were being shot at me. Instead of enhancing myself I formed a shell around myself as more precaution.

Creating a pair of chains I used them to smack, skewer, and help change direction. I was getting close to out pacing my regeneration and the shell around me was only a buffer around be since it had been broken when hit at least twice in succession, Or when acid came into contact with it. I had seen spores to which I had blown away with the wind or setting on fire.

It hadn't even been four hours and I was starting to feel fatigued. The outpost was overrun and I was constantly being pushed back and constantly surrounded. "If I knew how to control the ground this would have been so much easier." Every now and then I did out pace my regen when I did come into contact with carnifexes or its counter parts.

When I did put the shell down It was to cause waves of fire as much as six feet tall. Threads took to long to slice through anything with that many numbers. Pushed back so far I was entering some woodland. Using my chains I get off the ground by pulling myself up and began swinging. from tree to tree.

Deciding to fight one type of enemy I stop on a tree climbing to the top and starting the slow creation of a pairs of wings, Before long I had a pair with a wing span of a yard and a half. Using the wind I achieved lift off and shakily started to pick up speed.

I underestimated the difficulty of the air The sky rippers and gargoyles were on my tail and much faster than me. In a desperate attempt I tried modifying the wings to have a cylinder to direct flames thus giving me extra speed. Which was thwarted by the countless spore mines in the air attracted by the heat. Out pacing my regen by two I flew fast enough to out speed the tyranids.

Flying higher and higher I take a glance behind me only to see a harpy. Quickly charging a compressed ball of wind I let it explode between us as the screech from it was some what nullified leaving my ears only ringing slightly.

Disoriented I free fall luckily dodging the spore mines the harpy was shooting. readjusting myself I reform wings just about to keep going before 'Crunch' "AARGG Fuck!" Pain shot from the now stump of my right arm as the Harpy dive bombed past me eating on my arm.

[04'48'32]

I couldn't focus as I plummeted to the ground, Clutching my arm I only stared at the endless numbers of tyranid beneath me.

[Time four hours forty nine minutes and six seconds.]

[Wow You Did Better Than I Thought]

I panted and laid on my side my whole body shaking.

[Oh Man Up It Wasn't Even That Bad.]

I looked at my right arms now fully intact. "What are my rewards." I asked still calming down from the entirety of the challenge.

 [You Get...A Participation Ribbon! Hooray!]

"Are you shitting me?!" I got up ready to try and beat the shit out of the blue screen.

[Nah Just Joking Don't Get Your Panties In A Bunch. Here How About This, I Give You 7500 Extra Mana 125 Extra regen With A Side Of An Inventory Of Twenty Slots No Stacking]

I took a deep breath in and out making sure I was Calm enough to rational. "Just give it to me."

[Oh I'll Give You Something =P]

"Gross I'm still a kid" I looked the blue screen and inched away from it.

[Yeah Yeah Well Here you Go]

[Max Mana 16,436]

[Mana Regeneration 254.86/sec]

"All right could I go home now I smell like shit and dirt with a side of stomach acids."

 [Yeah Whatever Spoil Sport]

I was once again in the comfort of the door way of my room. Grabbing a pair of clothes I hopped in the shower and setting fire to the old pair. In fifteen minutes I finished showering and finding Izuku waiting. "Why are you taking a shower at this time?" "I spilt something very gross." I said showing nothing as I walked past him heading towards my room.

"W-wait." I heard him say softly. "Yeah what is it?" I looked towards him confusion written on my face. "I- I just wanted to say, Thank you. Even though we have only known each other for just more than a year, I just wanted to Thank you for helping me and being the kindest anyone has been besides my mother."

"Yeah no pro-" He came up to me and hugged me shedding tears of happiness. "Thank you so much for believing in me and giving me hope. Thank you so much." I patted him on the back letting him cry as he held me tight and I held him back tightly. I feel like I'm going to have nightmares after that challenge.

I let him go as we split ways. He looked at my back for a second and smiled then closed his door. Finally hitting the bed I was out before I could be thinking.
