Chapter 443: The Secret Research of Ares Arsenal_2
After Dwight Savile showed his credentials to them, they finally opened the gate, but still couldn't see what was inside. A meter away from the gate, there was another iron door, and here, two guards holding AK47s were still standing.
It wasn't until the main door closed that Dwight Savile showed his credentials to them again, and the iron door was opened.
The world behind the iron door gave Henry Dale, who was visiting here for the first time, a sense of revelation yet shock.
Behind the iron door, numerous researchers in white lab coats could be seen, either holding materials in their hands while discussing with each other or a few researchers were in a solitary laboratory studying something.
More importantly, in the spacious research base, tanks of various models from different countries were placed, with several researchers probing and tinkering beside each tank. Moreover, based on the appearance of the research base's exterior, it was evident that there were more research labs outside this one.
At this moment, Henry Dale finally understood why Ares Arsenal was so extravagant in spending—because new types of weapons were being developed here.
However, no one knew about these new weapons yet.
Upon arriving, the introduction to Donnie about this place shifted from Tor Karam to Dwight Savile. However, Savile's introduction showed that he wasn't very knowledgeable about the various data of the weapons or technological breakthroughs.
Tang Fei understood this since Dwight Savile's education was limited, and he was placed in charge here simply because Donnie trusted him more than Tor Karam.
Dwight Savile also understood that he couldn't explain these matters to Donnie, so he casually grabbed a researcher and asked him to summon the person in charge of this research warehouse.
The person in charge, named Bauer Coleman, was a German weapons expert specializing in tanks. Steve Cotting discovered him, as he originally worked for Germany's Krupp Corporation. After Cotting discovered him, he immediately offered him a high salary to come to the United States.
Krupp Corporation believed Bauer Coleman had died in a car accident.
"Sir, we have completed summarizing the data of these tanks, but there are still many technical challenges in producing tanks with larger calibers and more convenient mobility. Also, we need places to test research outcomes; this site is not discreet enough!"
Bauer Coleman had met Donnie before, so there was no need for introductions. Upon seeing Donnie, he immediately conveyed his needs to him.
Donnie responded with a smile, "Mr. Coleman, don't worry, we are already looking for locations as you requested. Rest assured, your research won't be delayed!"
Hearing Donnie speak so assuredly brought an undeniable smile to Bauer Coleman's face, who replied, "If that's the case, then I have no issues here!"
Despite Coleman's words bringing a headache to Dwight Savile, he maintained a smile and said, "Mr. Coleman, you should inform the boss about the specific progress of your research, especially the results concerning the 75mm caliber barrel that the boss asked for..."
"Boss, do you understand this?" Bauer Coleman cut off Dwight Savile, asking Donnie directly.
"I know how impactful the M4 medium tank was in the late stage of World War II..." Donnie smiled and said, "It's okay, go ahead and continue. By understanding your research progress, I can better provide the support you need!"
Without thinking much, since the boss asked, Bauer Coleman continued explaining.
Donnie followed Bauer Coleman, standing beside each tank as he first explained the characteristics of these tanks and then elaborated on the shortcomings compared to what Donnie required.
Donnie nodded repeatedly as he listened.
After viewing this research warehouse, he essentially finished listening to Bauer Coleman's explanations.
After Donnie finished listening, he quipped with a smile, "Mr. Coleman, I understand your research progress now. I've noted down the existing technologies you need, and I'll find ways to get them!"
Bauer Coleman was elated by Donnie's assurance and chuckled, "If that's the case, then that's fantastic!"
After Bauer Coleman left, Donnie and his group reached another entrance to this research warehouse, where guards were similarly posted.
After following through with the standard procedures, they entered the second research warehouse.
The layout was akin to the first research warehouse, except this one housed various models of bombers.
This research warehouse was managed by Eric Mason, who was formerly an engineer at the Boeing Company.
Here, Tang Fei listened to Eric Mason's report.
Compared to the report from the tank research warehouse, Eric Mason's report was more detailed. He even suggested to Donnie the acquisition of Boeing Company!
Regarding Eric Mason's suggestion, Donnie didn't provide a definitive answer.
Besides these two research warehouses, there were several other research warehouses here, each focusing on diverse weaponry, such as a research warehouse dedicated to individual rocket launchers and another for rocket missiles.
After passing through these various research warehouses, each manager submitted a suggestion to Donnie — they needed bases suitable for testing their experiments.
