Alpha’s Mark (Three lives Of A Witch)

Chapter 3: Chapter 3

With a smile on her lips, Mia waves her hands in the air in an attempt to catch the pilot or perhaps aim to guard him to land with ease and pace.

"It here" she cheerfully jumps on her legs with winks at her friend who smiles it off with a head.

Thinking of how childish and playful she can be and how quickly her mood changes. Her fear and threat of life being taken are replaced with excitement and freedom, but she is at peace as well to see the helicopter.

She too doesn't wish to be caught or die so soon. Her life has just begun and she hasn't done much of what she planned. That's the reason she took the job in the first place plus it could land both her and Mia's freedom from the organization they're in.

The organization as known from the outside is home to the homeless children and a charity sanctuary yet a secret from within reveals it to be a place of brutality and torture chambers. Children who are brought in are compelled to train in various practices, they're taught the skills of war and the art of seduction.

If she can recall clearly, their first arrival was like every kid they met that night, excited and thrilled with the thought of being rescued from the mercy of the streets, less they know those bubbles were soon to be popped. The night came with them being jogged out of bed by a loud alarm, in haste they led their feet to the center of the building, where the voice was echoing. On their first arrival, they searched their eyes for the owner of the voice but found nothing.

"Welcome children, as you know this is the organization, a home to all homeless children " Ella's eyes took a second confirmation to the black speakers that were knotted at the corners of the transparent roof that gave enchanting views of the sky.

"But, The Organization is far from that. Tonight we test your skills and agility, tonight only fifty children shall be the ones to live to see the next day. Out that door is a maze and somewhere with holds fifty badges, each person is entitled to one badge. Find it and bring it and those with no badges well, they're automatically expired from the game. The countdown begins now" the voice silenced out with a chuckle that had the children scared in their stomachs. Among their eyes stared at one another in question.

"Fifty badges, but there are more of us than the said badges " Mia whispered to Ella, who gave little attention to her speech. Her eyes were observed to the countdown that held in suspense above.

"Let go" she coldly stated to Mia as she grabbed her hand and raced to the door as others followed. Time wasn't much in their favor, there were like hundred children, most in age of ten to fifteen. Everyone was in the thought of themselves, all desired the badge and feared losing the game and being eliminated.

Out, they caught hold of the strange maze. Ella's eyes sketched through the patterns of the walls, in hesitant thoughts she led her steps within that held reflections of herself and others on each corner, below were rooots of thorns that curled their way on the mirrors within.

"Ell, am scared," Mia said encountering a return smile from her reflection.

"We have to split up," Ella said to nervous Mia who shook against the idea. She was every bit brave and she knew her limits.

"I don't think that's such a good idea. Let's just do it together "

"That would be a delay, it is much faster if we split up. Call me if you encounter any trouble " she said with a tap on her fingers. So they split up and headed for the different entrances. Being quick on her feet, she fought her way through the stubborn roots that curled its veins at her leg, dragging her from the badge in sight. With great length, she struggled her feet out with the aid of her teeth that she punched in on the root, which drew back.

Hastily she grabbed the badge and returned in fear of how Mia was doing. On her way, she scolded her name in an attempt to locate her fast

"Mia" her voice went loud, again and repeat it went till she caught a scream for help. With no doubt she chased for the direction of the scream, sure it was her friend's voice.

" Ell, help me" Mia requested at the sight of Ella who rushed to her aid.

Just like Ella, she had spotted the badge and in pace, she chased to grab it only to be pulled away. She turned in haste to discover she was being eaten by the roots and its veins had covered half of her body, leaving little breath for her.

" Ell..?" She called out, fear registered in her eyes in watch of the roots suddenly wide of its mouth. Strange she screamed of such possibilities.

Without a second more, Ella rushed her hands in the grab of her friend. Hard and long she pulled but the grip of the roots on her was firm. Every second, her body was being dragged to the opening of the root mouth, left with less choice Ella took out the badge and began using it against the roots. As it was made of metal with sharp edges, it gave much aid to her course.

Soon the roots withdrew and freed she was.

In heavy breath, she cuddled her arms on Ella, eased to have her come to her rescue.

"Let go," she said taking the lead for the outdoors. Not a minute more did she want to spend and have those nasty roots attack or devour them. She had already witnessed three girls and a boy being swallowed by the roots. Somehow her thoughts were in doubt as to how it happened, what caused a root of such to have such ability but again that question was of no importance as their lives.

Maybe it could be a cause of chemicals, it is just like those movies being watched from the windows of people's houses.

"Congratulations to the surviving children, you're the winner for the rest, well they're being taken care of," a lady said on their arrival. Her light sun hair glowed its way to her cherry lips giving details to her slim chin and pale violet eyes, oddly as her looks presented she was indeed a beauty of mystery.

"You fifty have been chosen as the newly recruited prodigies of the organization, well second you're going to be further tested tomorrow, relax it all safe" she assured after a frown from their faces.

"The others, what about them? Are they going to be alright?" Ella asked capturing the lady's smile to fade

"The others ain't your problem, your concern should be tomorrow " she dryly stated

"Those things, the roots they were alive, what were they? They eat the other kids" a barely formed sentence came in questions from Ella, staring right back at the lady that sensed nothing from her, puzzled and gained interest in her.

"Those were just illusions to make the game more fun, don't take it seriously," she said patting Ella's cheek. "And back to your rooms you go" And with those words, they disappeared to their rooms in a flash.

In the coming years, Ella became the best the organization ever had, went on missions, was trained by the finest, and carved by the toughest.

"After this, we can finally live on our terms," Ella said, assuring that this is the last mission for The Organization. This deal was set that only five hundred missions were required of each agent within five years and this mission was their last, after it, they'll be fulfilling their many dreams of traveling and chasing boys.

"I first get to choose the city we're traveling to"

"Fine, you'll choose first" Ella chuckles in concord to her friend's cute talks.

In a second their smiles faded away, as flames and smoke set on their pupils. Mia's fingers rub through her eyes with a second look in the air, only to find the helicopter tail being burned to the ground on the open bridge of cold mountains. At the other end, Ella captures the gaze of a man with a gun in his hands.

Mia's body hastily shields behind Ella's.

Since day one Ella has been protecting and providing for her. They were both orphans who met on the streets finding somewhere to sleep. On a shivering night, Mia's body was being trashed out from the comfort space she had found by the dust bins by another homeless girl, who was far an inch above her and weighed much more than her skinny body then.

"Who's that disturbing my sleep?" Twelve-year-old Ella landed on her feet from the half-built walls, sighing her breath in displease to the grown bully feet on Mia's body.

"This has nothing to do with you, so scam away," the girl said in a wild tone of intimidation.

"And what if I refuse?" Ella asked taking a firm stand.

"Then you'll join her," the girl said directing her gaze on Mia's body struggling to free from beneath her tons-weight leg.

"I'd love to see how you do that," Ella said with a hard throw of her leg on the girl's body against the solid street ground, before she could recover her stand she went in with a punch on her face and dumped her head in one one of the bin which caused her to black out.

"Is she dead?" Mia's tiny voice concerned out with tangled fingers, as she took peeps at her body for seconds to see if it could move.

"She isn't dead, just out of breath for minutes to come" Ella casually said returning to her space.

"Oh," Mia said in relief.

"Hey wait up, can you take me with you?"

"No, you'll be a burden and another mouth to feed" Ella declined climbing her way for the walls and flatting her back on the bricks.

"I promise I won't be a burden, just take me, please. Also, I can cook, clean, and sew. Plus am likable" she said with wild innocent eyes and pouted lips.

"Fine" Ella accepted not wanting more of her alluring eyes.

Since that night they have lived together and as promised, Ella has protected her in every way she could. Just two years by before they were taken in by The organization.

"Two little thieves. Sounds disappointing, don't you think?" The voice directs out from the center of guards. Between he stands with loose goofy lips, in bright rainbow pants that braced up to the fit belly T-shirt of dark grey.

"Teens" he forwards in with a flat grasp of the laughter of the girls, then circles his steps. Amused and baffled at their abilities, the fact they bridged into his highly secured building, defeated his skilled guards, and stole his precious ice stone without getting any harm is admiration in the heart, even if it hurts his ego.

" For little girls, must commend your guts. You broke into my robust safe, passed my guards, and destroyed a glass jar worth millions" he easily said with smiles to the girls.

"Very admirable, you even got my guards looking like idiots " his smiles concealed with a hard glare at his guards that cowards their gazes to their feet.

"I should hire you two instead, what do you say?" he said with a cold stab of his eyes at Ella.

Ella's eyes rolled in circles with a snort at his finger wanting to lay on her chin, jerking out she stabs a firm look at him.

"Let's get this done with, you tell me what I want to hear and I'll set you free". He drops the deal with a charming smile that lightens his ocean eyes.

"Tell me who sent you?" his gaze darkens at Ella who shows no sign of being intimidated by his muscular figure or badass expressions.

" What made you think we ain't here on our own accord" She shot eyes at him with a smirk of tease,

"Because I know everything" John proudly notes with his beauty charms of sparkling teeth visible.

" Then you should know who sent us, after all, you are a man of know-it-all " She had to steal his moment of pride, his smile glimpse in darkness, and the smooth forehead became covered in wrinkles and ruffles.

"Listen girl the only survival for you and your buddy" his eyes peep at Mia's concealed body behind Ella "Is revealing the person behind this mission" he offers in an unbalanced tone.

"But there's no master behind this mission. I'm my own captain" Ella shoots out not resending from the stare contest.

John moves his hands to his pockets in watch of the stubborn being in front of him. He can easily root her heart from her chest and feed it to his cubs to satisfy his pride in being challenged but again he needs information from her. Especially the hard facts of his ability being mute to get to her thoughts, usually, he can read every mind but hers is one hell of a block.

"I'm being easy since you are girls and might have been influenced to take this job. You tell me who sent you and I promise to let you leave here alive ". True but they know too well than to spill a word about the organization. During their years they'd undergone training and most of the lesson of silence towards the existence of the other side of The Organization.

Mia's eyes meet Ella's, wanting to speak the truth as the deal is good for her. Walking out there alive is one pretty deal and she's all for it. Between her and Ella she is soft easy to get to and easy to get to.

" If I tell you, will you let us go?" She pushes forward with tangled fingers on the front.

John's eyes suddenly fell weak to her presence, flinching out of the second gaze at her he walked the gap between him and Mia.

"You have my word girl. Tell me who sent you and I'll have both you and your friend sent home" he said evading in her thoughts.

"Fine, it…"

"No one" Ella steps in front of Mia, freezing her lips from saying a word with her eyes and head that shook in gestures. She then turns her brown gaze at John who stands in dazzle to her firm will of none submission, yet again ignites a hint of irritant and obstructs to his demands.

With three steps she closes the gap to John, sends her hand to his shoulder, and rings her fingers on his huge ears. In seconds her charming lips closed in for his ear.

"Do you take me for a fool, you think I'll believe you? I've met far too many people around to get fool" Next was frantic laughter as she lost her grip on his ears. Staring at his dazzled face that holds many expectations to her closed lips.

He grasps in a gulp with every sight he takes of her pale baby lips that spread in curvy laughter. Insane as it is, he held the mic to her closed lips and fingers that erupted mixed emotions of lust and wants. Confused at his sudden allures to her will.

It isn't like him to easily fall for traps as seduction, less say one from a weak young human like her. He's an alpha of the moonlight pack, one all fears and abides by.

What the fuck is it with her charms on him?.

" It takes more than a man to tame me, I spill information at my will," she said straightening her posture to his face now hardened to her words.

With narrowed eyes, he gives a long sterned glare at her. For a man of his character, it is once in bloom to see him out of his all-time goofy mood, and somehow she agitates the monster in him.

"Okay then, let's have this done the hard way."

As quick as his words, a black-out dazzles through both girls as their bodies lose grip of stance on the roof floor. Watching behind is his right-hand man J who knocked both girls out behind their necks.

Ice Palace (Secret Torture Vault)

Her first lit eye gaze was nothing but emptiness. Lifting her body on a straight seat she finds the environment alien and undiscovering, with every view she takes it becomes darker. Her hands roam the surroundings, hoping they could hold an object or find a clue about where she was. The little she recalls is the surprise knock at her neck and then the shut out.

Whatever he's playing on he better let her out now, or he would face riot from her. She threatens in her head. Folded against her body, she locks in every hole of the past crippling her memories.

She can't have the past coming now, she can't face it. Her now self just can't face her weak unhelped eight-year-old self that would scream from the inside of a square box being sealed with heavy locks as punishment for her disobedience to her first caretaker. Or the tight ropes that sink in her flesh with each passing second in the box, her breath seized with little strength to call for help. What was the use, her mouth was filled with clothes and even if it wasn't no one could come as the neighbors were unwelcome by her caretaker and her voice couldn't reach the miles away next house.

"Get me out of here" she scolds out in faint. She feels the edge of her nails claw into her skin, with every step she takes of the terror of being hit by a rod or burnt by carved steel. Impel by fear she struggles within herself to set herself free from the misery of the cage that triggers bad memories.

"Mia, Mia" a voice so low yet enough to lash through the dark room with multiple followers.

Whatever fear that's cropping in her mind isn't of much help in her situation. As many times as she spoke through her head to calm down and defeat the fear, it gave little help to the fact of her mind viewing the walls being closed on her.

After an hour of tortured of darkness, a glimpse of light strikes in her eyes. Blinding her from seeing the person who walked in with a suitcase, that came slapping at the table. Which she only comes to know of it.

"Now the show begins "
