Leo took a deep breath as the call disconnected. Then he mumbled, "Fooling them is fun."

On the other side, Socrate was made a call to Amor. He didn't dare to disturb Bishop in the middle of the night. The steward picked up the call and asked, "How can I help you, Master Socrate?"

Socrate said, "Amor, I just received a call from a person who identified himself as Death Gaze. Some hitman, he said that the Counselor is dead and before dying The Counselor hired this man to kill Kastya. I have no idea what is going on here. Did you get any heads-up from the Counselor regarding this issue?"

Amor shook his head and replied, "No, Master Socrate. He was given a free hand to deal with this assignment by the old master. How much is this Death Gaze asking for?"

Socrate replied, "No matter how much, if it is true that the Counselor hired this man then this man should be worth it. I will run a few checks and see what he is capable of and then pay him money."

Amor nodded and said, "I will inform the old master in the morning about what happened to the Counselor, and also look into this issue to find out the details."

Socrate agreed and then the call was disconnected. The man went on to the Dark Web and made a few queries. Turns out Death Gaze was a new guy on the scene but he was good enough to walk in and out of the Dead Sea and also scare off the people with just his gaze.

He picked up his phone and was about to call back, when he realized that the other party was using an encrypted number, it wouldn't be tracked back in such a small time. Just then his phone rang again. The man picked up the call and asked, "How much do you want?"

Leo replied, "Fifty million, half advance, and half upon completion."

Socrate frowned and asked, "Denomination?"

Leo calmly answered, "Swastika Sterling."

Socrate clicked his tongue and asked, "Why so high? I know you are a newbie."

Leo replied calmly, "This isn't fish that you are negotiating over it. One thing that you ought to understand is The Counselor wanted it to be a message that should make the enemy back off. Also, the target is the Blonde Witch. Do you know the bounty on her head?"

Socrate took a deep breath and said, "Fine, do what you must. How shall I give you the money?"

Leo replied, "In kind. I will have my subordinate text you the details."

That was it, and the call was disconnected one more time. After a few minutes, Leo had Ellyse deliver the text with how to transact the money and the date and time of when the job will be finished.

Leo then went in the bed room, and hugged Snow to get comfortable before he entered the virtual space and began to train and rehearse the attack.

Kastya was sitting in her room, and was gazing in the void while swirling the glass of wine in her hand. She mumbled, "Leo Cardinal, you are quite clever to have trapped me like this. However, you have forgotten that you stand to lose a lot more than me."

She had made up her mind, she was going to abduct Lily and then contact Snow to kill Leo. She wanted the man to die with the feeling of betrayal consuming his last thoughts. Kastya was a Diabolical person.

In the morning, Leo received the confirmation from Ellyse and then he told Kyle and Jock to join Zeenat today in protecting Lily. Along with that he also strengthened the security detail of Snow. As he made an excuse and left the house quickly. Snow frowned and as Leo mounted the bike and rode away. This was a rare sight, but she could sense that something was going on.

Leo came to the place where Kyle had set up a small armory. Over the past few months, they have ordered parts of weapons and then assembled them all inside the house. However, they still left behind several weapons untouched, lest the cops saw it. Although they had the license to carry, they didn't have the permits to hold sniper rifles.

Leo came to this small villa for this one reason. He went inside after the few people posted here saw him. Then they saw Leo taking the parts and then putting them all together quickly. A fine sniper rifle was assembled just under a minute. Then Leo said, "I will take this, and come back in an hour."

He placed the gun inside a rectangular case, after detaching the barrel from the body. Then he flung the box inside a regular sedan used by one of the guards and headed to his destination.

Kastya had a habit of doing yoga when the sun had just come upon the horizon, and she was doing just that, unknown to the fact that seven hundred meters away, someone was laying on the terrace of a building that was not exactly across the hotel where Kastya stayed, but it was a spot lost among the tall buildings.

Leo lay flat on his belly, the access of this building was easy to acquire. He just bribed the guard, and told him that he needed to click a few pictures. The guard never saw such money and agreed to let him in through the back door. Leo had already tasked Milo to disable the security cameras.

The bullet was an armor piercing round, it went through the toughened glass as if paper, and directly shot through Kastya's head, causing the blood to splatter on the walls, as the lady slowly fell on her back.

Leo then fired two more shots, but this time he did that to widen the point of entry on the glass, so that the investigators couldn't pin point his position with ease. Then he collected the shells, packed the gun and dashed down stairs. Then he drove away. After thinking about it, he told Milo, to make arrangements for the guard and his family. Send them out of the country and give them a life of luxury with one ultimatum, never to come back.

On his way back, the system said, 'Ping: Task complete.'

Leo smiled and asked, 'No other remarks?'

The system said, 'Host, while you are doing your best to fan the flames, one should be careful and not to attract trouble.'

Leo understood what the system meant. The young man calmed down and reached the small villa. He gave the gun back to the guard who was responsible for looking after the place and then rode his bike back to the mansion.

Snow and Lily had yet to leave home, when he came back. Lily asked, "Baba, where did you go? Taking the bike out alone so early in the morning, bad manners."

Leo smiled and said, "Well, the gift my darling got for me is something to cherish, is it not? I promise, no more joy rides."

Lily nodded and then said, "You should take a shower before you have breakfast. Ma will take me to the school today, I have to teach Layla chess."

Leo smiled as he patted her head and gestured to Snow to come over. The lady followed him inside the bedroom and then asked, "Where did you go?"

Leo took off the riding gear and said, "Kastya is down."

Snow raised her eyebrow and closed in on Leo as she asked, "How dare you do it in broad daylight?"

Leo shook his head and said, "I covered my tracks. Nothing to worry about it."

Snow sighed and replied, "I hope, for your sake there is no follow up trouble."

Leo nodded and went inside the washroom to take a shower.

Socrates told his people to keep an eye on Kastya, and just a few minutes ago, he received the news that Kastya was taken down. Then he received a text on his phone to pay out the rest of the money. He was a wise man, if someone could handle this trouble in the broad daylight and escape unsighted, it was simple, he shouldn't be messed up with.
