Chapter 406: The Start Of Everything I
Well... with all that... it's actually and finally the new year...
To the dot. And it's the start of everything 1987 from there on out.
It's just that after the big countdown to get here... there were far better ways to experience the next new minutes to come.
It's not just about being stuck outside and being stuck between enthusiastic girls.
Which was why after skillfully unlatching their prolonged kisses... Alexander interjected. "Alright then."
"It's getting kind of breezy and the glare from these flashy fireworks isn't really much help for heat... so we better get back inside." Given the fact that they went outside in their pajamas on a whim, his concern was pretty valid. Concerns for colds, that is.
"Bwut I want to kyiss sham more!" Drew said.
"Mwe too!" Milla seconded.
This was the girls with their smooching lips smack dab at his delatching palms... expressing their opposition.
Alexander could only sigh at that and reminded. "Haven't you guys had enough of milking all these holiday practices?"
After experiencing the obvious mistletoe abuse this past week, they'll most probably go overkill again with this little thing that people do at the precipice of the year's shift.
Planting those sweet, sweet lips against each other during midnight of New Year's Eve.
"Didn't you really like the kissing under the mistletoe stuff as well?" Free from his palm, Milla reminded back. "This time, it's the special New Year's Eve kiss and we're even gracious enough to save you from the confusion on how to do it."
"Yeah... real midnight could only go so long." Drew surprisingly supplemented. "If we haven't set aside our difference and planned this, what would you have done?"
And with that question, Alexander saw where they were getting at.
If it was him, he would either not do it at all or the awkward way wherein he goes back and forth between the two... and those are quite the choices to go for.
And quite the position to be in.
"You got me there." He acquiesced but still, these two should look into other traditions like New Year's resolutions instead of smackeroos.
Granted, he wasn't in a hurry to do that, was he?
It's an activity that strengthens the bond for another year, as relationship experts and historians say.
And since the girls proactively want for it...
Who was Alexander to refute them?
It's just that instead of confining them to that moment under a barrage of celebratory fireworks, he'd rather be more in-depth with it in an extended period.
There's still something called New Year's Day, after all.
Which was why... as soon as he persuaded them to get back inside, they went straight for the bedroom, and did just that.
He laid Milla and Drew out on the bed... and it was just a matter of picking which one to go with first from there.
One was young Milica Natasha Jovovich or Milla as known to many people. Someone who serenaded with 'Take My Breathe Away', soothed with 'I'll Give You Romance', and recently rocked the world with 'The Final Countdown'.
Those songs really have quite the connotations when stacked, don't they?
On the other hand, was Drew Blythe Barrymore. That famous girl who kissed E.T. and appeared in a few other movie roles that made her a darling to many.
There they were, ripe for the picking.
Umm... yeah... maybe scratch that part...
Still, even though Alexander had his fair share of starlets and wannabes like Snipes, these truly high-profile personalities were just something else.
One was tucked in and reserved but that look of admiration towards his ways spoke volumes of what they've been through, what she wanted, and all that he was allowed to do.
As for the other one... well... she is precocious and knows quite a lot of questionable stuff, with her leg parted the way it currently is. And that impulsive and passionate gaze reflected the relationship that they had.
One was an experimental dummy he considered while the other considered him to be prince charming of sorts.
Both essentially turning into double insurance policies to stave off what he considered as troublesome puberty.
Lucky him since they somehow had the make to be quite the understanding girlfriends... from time to time.
Not a lot had that going on for them and it really stroked whatever inkling of vanity he had.
This is also one of those rare instances where they got along with each other, which was why Alexander was more than inclined to play along...
Immersing into the kisses, the cuddles, the tumbles, the fondles, and the sweet talks to each of their collective content.
Sure.
It tiptoed and even crossed some lines but Milla was happy and Drew was grinning. All the while Alexander got to know his way between propriety and fun.
Of course, in his own biased opinion... what he's done wasn't so bad...
There's nothing like doing good old relationship-bolstering activities with girlfriends at the start, right?
The start of everything that this year had to offer...
---------
Then again, somewhere down the line, something just clicked and he found himself escalating some things for a bit.
It wasn't anything much. It's just that those pesky hormones kicked in and it became kind of hard to extricate himself from what they were doing.
It wasn't just him as the girls were in the same boat too.
And then there were those complex looks that came their way whenever they entered his bedroom.
It reminded them that the house had other people present now and it was much-deserved awkwardness directed towards Alexander, to say the least.
Fortunately or unfortunately, it was just momagers being momagers and Old Sullivan being Old Sullivan.
Miss Galina had an obvious agenda, Mother Jaid had somewhere else to get to, and there's the spoiling grandpa clearly being spoiling.
He could never prove it but Alexander can say that he wasn't too far off in his assumption that these three must have had a sit-down at one point, discussed the pro-cons, and decided to let him and the girls get away with it.
How else could he explain the uncriticizing indifference and suspicious acceptance mixed with complicated gazes?
It was truly baffling times and that's saying something.
Usually, at the start of the year, he gets to thinking about matters regarding the rest of it.
The projects and projections of the year 1987 and whatnot.
And that's perhaps the most troubling of all in his workaholic opinion.
When the distractions went as far as extending beyond New Year's Day into New Year's Days After... it was then that he realized that he may have overdone it as he really needed to get back on track.
Ruminations and implications about what happened can be done for later.
Some business matters this January were quite important and Alexander needed to get a comprehensive update on those.
--------
Rather fortuitously, it didn't take long for his request to be headed his way...
He had hired a certain somebody to do that job... and she should arrive just right on schedule.
*Ding!
And that doorbell even rang at 10 AM on the dot...
It was rather fitting as she's practically in charge of keeping track of his schedule.
Lo and behold.. as soon as he opened the door, there she was...
His secretary... looking young, sexy, and pretty... pretty professional, that is.
Alexander, being who he is, didn't take long for his view to creep up to her bosom.
Not to ogle at her model knockers, of course.
It's just that she kept those folders to her chest and not to criticize the way she carried them... he just really wanted to get cracking on those.
Alexander had a reputation to keep as a workaholic first and hormonal boy second, after all.
Miss Consigliere, not knowing his most complex of thought processes, just did what she was asked to do. "I got the files you asked for, little boss."
To that, Alexander nodded as he simply proclaimed. "Then, let's get to it..."
It wasn't much but Miss Consigliere found it simple enough to signify the start...
The start of everything that they're about to do...
Together...
From now on...
