Chapter 84: Towards Britain
I frowned as I sensed that Aisha was holding something back and it should be important. 'She didn't answer clearly' I thought my suspicion intensifying as my mind raced with possibilities.
"So as long as you don't think it's inappropriate, nothing will happen righ?" I asked trying to clarify the situation Aisha nodded hessitantly her cheeks flushed with a deeper shade of red.
"Why do you think this is inappropriate?" I prssed gently but with a look of utter seriousness "Isn't it normal for married couples to kiss?"
Aisha blushed harder averting her gaze as she repeated herself "I said it already before We're just married in name engaged at best. Wait until the formal marriage ceremony".
she paused for a moment and blushed before continuing."Until then...I'll only allow kisses."
"Alright then..." I sighed and accepted Aisha's words for the time being.
Hugging her close I leaned in my face inches from hers .
Aisha's eyes fluttered shut nervously anticipating a kiss.
However instead of a kiss she expected what she got was a gentle peck on the top of her head with an affectionate pat "That should be enough for now" I said in a soft and gentle voice.
I smiled at her reassuringly after distancing a little.
"Let's prepare for our journey to London Tomorrow Mother in law has already prepared a flight for us".
Aisha blinked surprise etched on her face as she processed the sudden change in my behaviour. she nodded slowly a hint of dissapointment flashing in her eyes before she quickly masked it

The next day...
I glanced around mentally checking off the items on my packing list "Alright it seems we got everything" I replied confidently as if I did all the work even though they were prepared in advance by claire.
"Passport tickets, clothes...I'm all set".
Aisha nodded and said with a serious tone "Let's not waste more of our time let's leave".
As such we left our mansion and walked towards the Airport.
Yes Walk...
Since we already had a portal ready in front of us to take us to the airport.
Claire left it open before she got back to the night kingdom.
'But why the hell couldn't we just teleport to London like this' I thought with a Deadpan but knew that there's probably some restrictions around that I don't know about.
...
...
As we began to make our way through the terminal I couldn't shake of the feeling that something was off.
Glancing beside me I noticed what was wrong...
Aisha's behavior seemed strange she seemed more anxious than usual.
"Hey" I asked gently and touched her arm to get her attention "Is everything okay? You seem kinda...distracted".
She got startled at the sudden contact her gaze snapped back at me "Oh...yeah" she murmured nervously "Just a bit nervous about flying, that's all".
I raised an eyebrow at her words.
Seriously...
"You are scared of Heights?" I asked incredulously. "I didn't expect that from a Saintess who could fly with her wings".
She flushed upon hearing my words and looked away "Well I am not exactly used to flying" she said defensively "And that's the spear's ability which I am not scared of and
She started slightly at my touch, her gaze snapping back to me. "Well, I'm not exactly used to flying,"she said defensively."In the church, we mostly stayed on the ground. And when I did fly, it was always with my wings not in a metal tube hurtling through the sky."
I chuckled softly and squeezed her hand with a smile "It's okay" I said gently "Flying is perfectly safe. I'll be right beside you the whole time".
As we waited in line to board the plane, I turned to Aisha with a curious expression.
"So, how did you come from the Vatican City then?"I asked, genuinely interested in learning more about her former home.
"Assuming that's where your headquarters is."
Aisha's eyes widened slightly, caught off guard by my question. "Oh...well, yes,"she replied hesitantly."The Vatican is where I lived and trained for most of my life."
She paused her gaze drifting off as she reminisced "It's a beautiful place filled with history and spirituality. The architecture is breathtaking and artwork... it's like stepping into a different world".
"The cathedral is the heart of it all,"she continued softly."St. Peter's Basilica...the sheer grandeur of it never fails to humble me. And the Sistine Chapel...the artwork on the ceiling, painted by Michelangelo himself. It's...it's indescribable."
A wistful smile tugged at her lips as she spoke, her voice tinged with nostalgia. "I miss it sometimes the quiet moments spent in prayer, the sense of belonging to something larger than myself."
She blinked rapidly, as if shaking off a reverie, and turned back to me. "But that life is behind me now,"
As she spoke those words, I couldn't help but wonder what else lay hidden beneath her saintly exterior what secrets and longings she kept buried deep within.
"Maybe we'll visit there soon since I suppose I need to meet your family" Aisha's eyes widened at my suggestion, a flicker of surprise and something else perhaps excitement? crossing her features.
"You...you want to meet my family?"she asked softly, her voice barely audible over the hum of the airport.
She bit her lip, seeming to consider the idea for a moment before nodding slowly. "I suppose that would be nice,"she murmured."It's been a while since I've seen them."
A small smile played on her lips as she continued,
"And yes, we could definitely visit the Vatican. There's so much I'd love to show you the hidden gardens, the ancient libraries...the secrets tucked away in the shadows."
Aisha's cheeks flushed a deep crimson at my teasing words, her eyes widening in a mixture of embarrassment and indignation.
"I..I am not a pervert!"she sputtered, her voice rising slightly. "And those are not the kind of secrets I meant!"
She crossed her arms over her chest, her gaze darting away as she muttered,"You're impossible."
Despite her protests, I couldn't help but notice the way her lips twitched, as if fighting back a smile. It was clear that she wasn't truly offended just playfully annoyed by my teasing.
As we boarded the plane and settled into our seats, Aisha leaned in closer, lowering her voice to a conspiratorial whisper. "But maybe...maybe there are some secrets I've been keeping,"she admitted softly."Things about myself that I haven't told anyone else."
As I chuckled softly to myself, Aisha tilted her head, studying me with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion. "What's so funny?"she asked, her brow furrowing slightly."And why are you smiling like that?"
She leaned back in her seat, crossing her arms over her chest as she eyed me warily. "You're not making fun of me, are you?"she demanded, a hint of indignation creeping into her voice.
But even as she spoke, I could see the faint blush coloring her cheeks a sign that she wasn't entirely unaffected by my attention. I reached out, gently brushing a strand of hair behind her ear and leaning in closer.
"Honestly,"I murmured,"the first time I met you, I never thought you'd be this cute."
Aisha's eyes widened at my words, her pout fading into a look of surprise and embarrassment. "Ccute?"she stammered, her face flushing an even deeper shade of red."I'm not...I mean..."
She trailed off, seemingly at a loss for words.
Before Aisha could respond, a flight attendant approached us, her gaze fixed solely on me. It was clear that she had noticed my presence and was drawn to me for reasons beyond mere professional courtesy.
"Dear sir,"she began, her voice taking on a slightly breathless quality."Do you need any help settling in for the flight?"
She leaned in closer, her eyes lingering on my face with an intensity that made Aisha stiffen beside me. I glanced at the attendant, a frown tugging at my lips as I forgot how annoying My handsome mug used to be for my daily life.
"I'm fine, thank you,"I replied politely, turning my attention back to Aisha. But the attendant seemed reluctant to leave, hovering nearby as if waiting for an invitation.
Aisha's eyes narrowed slightly, a hint of jealousy flashing in their depths. She reached out, placing a possessive hand on my arm and pulling me closer.
"Actually,"she said sweetly,"we were in the middle of something. Perhaps you could give us some privacy?"
The attendant blinked, as if suddenly realizing her behavior. "Of course,"she murmured apologetically."stepping back and turning her attention to the other passengers.
As she walked away, Aisha leaned in closer, her breath warm against my ear. "Your Face is really annoying maybe you should wear a mask".
I chuckled and said with a dry look "Since even these glasses aren't enough How would a mask help". I said pointing to the glasses I was wearing.
Hearing my words Aisha tilted her head in confusion as she looked curiously at my glasses.
"What's so special about them".
Noticing her curious gaze fixed on my glasses. "Ah yes,"I said, a smile tugging at my lips."You're curious about these, aren't you?"
She nodded, her eyes sparkling with interest. "I was wondering how you got them,"she admitted."They seem...special."
I leaned back in my seat, my thoughts drifting back to the events that had transpired before our departure.
"Well,"I began,"it's a bit of a story..."
"Alicia gave them to me,"I explained, remembering the encounter vividly."Before I left for the human world, she pulled me aside and handed me this pair of glasses."
Aisha listened attentively, her brow furrowed in concentration. "Why would she do that?"she asked softly.
"Apparently,"I continued with a chuckle,"my eyes have a certain...effect on people. Especially humans."
Aisha's eyes widened in realization. "Oh,"she murmured."So these glasses help reduce that effect?"
"Those glasses don't seem to be working very well,"she whispered teasingly."Or perhaps the problem isn't with your eyes at all."
She pulled back, a smirk playing on her lips as she watched the flight attendant retreat. "Maybe you're just irresistible,"she added with a shrug.
I couldn't help but chuckle at her observation.
"Maybe I am,"I conceded, reaching up to adjust my glasses."But for now, let's focus on our flight.
