Chapter 77: England?
Valerian stood in front of a massive mansion his eyes wide in confusion and disbelief as he stared at the place where his former house was.
"Can someone explain why my house turned into a mansion?" He muttered a look utter tiredness in his eyes as he facepalmed.
Valerian took a deep breath trying to calm himself down.'I didn't expect to be hit with such a headache just as I managed to come back to the human world' he inwardly thought to himself in helplessness.
....
Alright you must be wondering what the heck is going on.
Let the rewind a bit back to the previous night.
Where it all began.
.....
...
In the magnificent iliving room of Karnstein Castle the Air was still as the tension still remained in the atmosphere.
Eleanor Iris and Alicia sat on a Couch their expressions ranging from annoyance to defeat.
Valerian sighed heavily as he entered the room his gaze sweeped over his wives. "Alright" he began cautiously "I think its time we had w talk about what happened today".
Eleanor snorted derisively as she asked bitterly "What's there to talk about?" She lowered her head anf d grumbled "We lost To a Bitch from the church no less".
Iris nodded in agreement. "It's humiliating,"she added softly."
Valerian sighed his expression softening as he turned to Eleanor "Yes you lost" He said gently "But you shouldn't blame yourself for it all responsibility goes to me, So please if you can forgive me and cheer up a little" He paused as his gaze drifted to her stomach.
"After all you carry a precious life inside you now staying down all the time is not good" he reminded her softly "you need to stay positive and strong for our child".
Eleanor's eyes widened slightly at his words, a flicker of realisation crossing her face. She looked down at her belly, a hint of tenderness in her eyes.
Valerian smiled encouragingly at her before turning back to Iris and Alicia "As for you two" He continued "Don't let this defeat bother you so much learn and understand from it besides if you want blame someone blame me".
They nodded with a subtle smile making Valerian sigh in relief as the tension in the air slowly dissolved.
But it was too early to celebrate...
"What are you guys talking about" Valerian heard quiet footsteps echoing as a voice drew near.
He turned around and saw Aisha entering the room his eyes widening as he saw her.
She was dressed casually in jeans and T shirt looking completely different from her usual look but for some reason she was still wearing her blindfold.
'Fuck just why when I barely managed to dissolve the tension' I thought in helplessness preparing for another bout of argument to begin.
Just as I feared Eleanor's sneer was immediate her words dripping with venom. "Already treating this place as yours huh? " she snapped, her eyes narrowed as looked pointedly at Aisha.
Aisha paused her head tilting slightly as she sensed the hostility "I apologize if my presence is unwelcome". She voiced calmly "I only wished to join the family discussion".
Valerian stepped forward as he placed a hand on Eleanor's shoulder "It's alright" he said firmly "she is part of this family now. We'll all need to learn to accept each other".
He turned to Aisha, offering her a small smile. "Please, join us," he invited warmly. "We were just discussing today's events.
Eleanor grumbled under her breath but decided not to press the issue further, turning away from Aisha with a huff. Iris and Alcia on the other hand seemed unsure of how to react to their new family member.
Iris fidgeted nervously her eyes her gaze moving between Aisha and Valeria. "Um...Welcome" she said hesitantly offering a small smile. "To the family, I mean".
Alicia nodded in agreement, her own smile slightly strained "Yeah...welcome," she echoed softly.
Valerian let out a relieved sigh as it seems like No further argument will take place.
'But still I am surprised that I am adjusting this quick to everything' Valerian thought to himself 'It's as if a Second nature to me".
Valerian glanced around the room, taking in the sight of his wives Eleanor, Iris, Alicia, and now Aisha.
'But I don't hate this feeling of acceptance' he lmumbled inwardly despite the initial awkwardness and tension, he felt a sense of calm wash over him. This was his family now, and he was determined to make it work.
"Ahem..." Valerian cleared his throat, drawing everyone's attention back to him.
"Alright," he began firmly. "Let's focus on the future.
We have a lot to discuss and plan for."
He turned to Aisha, his expression softening slightly. "Anyways Welcome to the family Aisha".
Aisha smiled in response but her replywas tinged with a smirk "Don't forget" she said softly "I am also here for another reason".
She narrowed her brows and said "To monitor you and make sure your existence doesn't become a threat".
Valerian's expression faltered at the reminder of her words.
'Yeah even though it may seem normal for now but she's essentially a spy from the church' Valerian thought he had momentarily forgot the underlying tension that surrounded his relationship with her.
Eleanor's head snapped at Aisha's words her senses heightening at the meaning behind Aisha's words "What's that supposed to mean?" She demanded sharply.
Aisha shrugged nonchalantly in response her smile never wavering "just a reminder" she said calmly "That I have my own duties and loyalty to fulfill".
Valerian sighed heavily, running a hand through his hair. He knew this wouldn't be easy trusting Aisha completely.
But what can he do...
Nothing...
Other than stop a Fight to breakout and keep things peaceful.
Or risk a war.
'I wish I was a crazy Idiot who didn't care if a war could start because of his mistakes' Valerian thought with a dark glint in his eyes.
Then suddenly he felt a shiver run down his body as a soft voice whispered in his ear. "I see.. It seems you guys getting along well" Valerian jumped aside immediately and turned around quickly to see the sudden intruder to his personal space.
Only to find himself face to face with his Ezsébet
His mother in law.... and Eleanor's mother.
Erzsébet stood there with a smug smile on her face, her eyes gleaming with amusement.
"Good evening, Valerian,"she greeted smoothly. "I must say, I'm impressed. You've managed to tame quite the group of women."
Valerian forced a polite smile, despite the unease settling in his stomach. "Mother in law," he acknowledged cautiously. "I didn't realize you were here."
'When did she come I didn't even sense her presence' Valerian thought to himself with sweat running down his brows.
Eleanor straightened up at the sound of her mother's voice, her expression turning guarded.
"Mother," she began stiffly. "What brings you here?"
Erzsébet's gaze swept over the room, taking in each of Valerian's wives with a critical eye. "Just checking in on my daughter and her...family,"
she replied smoothly.
Then her smile turned gentle as her gaze landed on Eleanor her eyes shining with pride and affection.
"Congratulations, my daughter" she said warmly her voice tinged with maternal love "I didn't expect to hear such a wonderful news so soon". She stepped closer to Eleanor placing a gentle hand on her belly. "And I certainly didn't expect to see my little girl one day becoming a mother" she added her voice a bit emotional.
Eleanor smiled proudly at her mother's words a rare moment of vulnerability flashed across her face before she quickly masked it with a nonchalant look. "Don't get too excited" she said annoyed "It's still a long time until I actually give birth".
Erzsébet chuckled softly, shaking her head. "my daughter most Vampire don't even get experience what you feel and time is just a number to us". She said teasingly. "Oh, Eleanor. You have so much to learn about the joys of motherhood."
She turned to Valerian, her expression turning serious. "I trust you'll take good care of my grandchild,"she said firmly ."And of Eleanor.
"Of course," Valerian replied, his voice steady and sincere. "I will protect and cherish both Eleanor and our child with my life."
Erzsébet nodded approvingly, her gaze lingering on Valerian for a moment before shifting back to Eleanor. "Good," she said simply."I expect nothing less.
Then after a brief moment of tenderness Erzsébet's expression turned serious, her eyes locking onto Valerian's with an intensity that made him uneasy.
"Valerian" she continued her voice low and urgent "I need to relay something important to you" she glanced around the room her gaze lingering on Each one of his wives along with the maid Claire before settling on Valerian again.
"In private" she added stressing each syllable to emphasize the importance of the matter.
Valerian gulped in nervousness and featured towards the others to leave.
The nodded in unison and quickly left the room leaving us alone.
Erzsébet gave look of approval and began her words with a solemn look.
"Valerian I need you to go to.... England"
