Age of Ascension: Forging an Immortal Realm from Nothing

chapter 59 - Thundercloud Wall! Mirror Lake! (1/4)

Just looking at the sword's fine print told you it was a pain in the ass. Sure, it was a Gold Legendary sword, Level 11, powerful as hell. But 200 Spirit? What the fuck? A normal person would have to grind to Level 30 just to get a Spirit stat that high without turning into a drooling moron. Try to wield this bad boy before you're ready, and the wriggly shadow crap all over it would start to eat your brain. Nasty.
"Awesome, but… yeah, no. I'm not touching that with a ten-foot pole." Wu Chi sighed.
"I'll let Sister Lin deal with it." He checked his other goodies.
Two new buildings.
First up was the [Lightning Enchantment: Stone Wall]. Pretty self-explanatory: a stone wall that was way tougher than his old wooden fence, and it zapped anyone dumb enough to touch it. But this was the vanilla version. What would happen once his cheat-code bullshit got its hands on it? Wu Chi got a little giddy just thinking about it.
The other prize was a [Bathhouse]. Seemed kinda boring… but then again, a place to scrub off the grime and blood of battle sounded pretty good. He had a baker's dozen of people running around now, and more on the way. A big bath was actually a solid quality-of-life upgrade.
He chucked the blueprints onto a plot of land, and they sprang to life.

[Lightning Enchantment: Stone Wall] (+)

[Bathhouse] (+)

That beautiful, beautiful little plus sign. It was time to get his cheat on. Wu Chi didn't even bother reading the stats and just hammered the button. A rainbow of divine light shot out of him and slammed into the new buildings. A few seconds later, the light faded, revealing their pimp-my-ride makeovers.
The wall was now a fifteen-meter-tall behemoth, covered in slick, purple, glowing tattoos that looked like storm clouds. The bathhouse… wasn't a bathhouse. It was a goddamn open-air hot spring lake, complete with a fancy pavilion in the middle and sexy mist everywhere. The water was so crystal clear you could see your reflection perfectly. Wu Chi just stared at it, and all the stress from the battle just melted away.

[Thundercloud Enchantment: Stone Wall] (Per Unit)
Type: Defensive Wall
Level: 1 (0/200)
Durability: 1000/1000
Enchantment: Thundercloud Art (Level 1)
Description: Touch this wall, get struck by lightning. A lot. We're not kidding.

"A thousand durability at level one? Sweet." Wu Chi nodded.
"And Thundercloud Art… isn't that, like, a super high-level spell? Nice! Now, the upgrade cost… TWO HUNDRED essence stones just for level 2!?"
His jaw dropped. All the joy from his massive payday vanished. Great. Another black hole for his money.
Still, it was way better than his old fence. He ripped down the wooden walls, shifted some buildings around, and dropped 3,000 crystals to build a full perimeter. Then, wincing, he dumped a metric ton of essence stones into it, power-leveling the whole thing to Level 5.
-200 Void Essence Stones!
-500 Void Essence Stones!
-1000 Void Essence Stones!
-1500 Void Essence Stones!
The upgraded wall was now ridiculously huge, with 10,000 durability per section. If that three-headed freak came back, it'd probably just break its knuckles trying to punch through.
"Now… the bathhouse." Wu Chi turned, a weird look on his face.

[Mirror Lake]
Type: Bathhouse
Level: 1 (0/200)
Function: Gets you clean, heals you up, and purifies your filthy soul.
Description: A magical hot tub that'll soothe your weary ass.

Five hundred square meters was pretty big for a "bathhouse." Wu Chi figured it was fancy enough for now and didn't ❀ Nоvеlігht ❀ (Don’t copy, read here) need any more of his precious cash. With his construction spree over, he shuffled back to his room in the palace and face-planted onto his bed.

The next day, his internal alarm clock went off at 5 AM.
