After Time Traveling, I was Forced to Marry a Wealthy Family

Chapter 51 - II

When Mu Ci arrived at the gate of the amusement park, he realized that Gu Huai had indeed not lied to him. Not all the people coming and going in this place were children. Most of them were adults, though primarily couples.

Mu Ci’s face was a little gloomy, but Gu Huai shamelessly held up a couple’s shirt, saying, “Baby, can we wear this today? You can change into it in the car.”

Mu Ci looked at the two painted shirts in Gu Huai’s hand. The couple’s shirt with the dream unicorn and the love bubble wrapped tightly, responding indifferently, “No, not even to death.”

Gu Huai sighed regretfully, “Thanks to me, I specially customized it. Look at this. There are our names on it.”

Mu Ci squinted and examined the pattern on the clothes carefully. He barely recognized his name from the artistic strokes, instantly getting goosebumps all over his body.

“Hurry up and throw it back in the car, or I’ll leave now!”

Mu Ci rarely got angry over a piece of clothing. Gu Huai quickly rubbed the two couple’s shirts and stuffed them into the car window, laughing, “If you don’t want to wear something, don’t wear it. Come on, let’s go in.”

Today’s theme was visiting the haunted house, and Gu Huai didn’t hesitate, pulling Mu Ci straight to the topic.

As a prince in ancient times, Mu Ci was a bit superstitious in nature, and he did believe in the theory of ghosts and demons. Standing at the gloomy entrance of the haunted house and hearing the faint howling of ghosts and wolves, his calves began to tremble.

Gu Huai wanted this effect. He was afraid he might regret it, so he deliberately provoked Mu Ci, saying, “I didn’t expect that you’ve lived in the intrigues of the palace for more than 20 years, seen so many human beings, and still afraid of ghosts?”

Mu Ci, with a red face, retorted in a low voice, “This is different!”

Tremblingly, he looked at the dark entrance ahead, secretly reassuring himself that it was all fake.

Worriedly, he asked Gu Huai, “Are they all fake?”

Gu Huai remained noncommittal, smiled, and strode in.

Mu Ci, looking around, regretted entering immediately. The darkness inside made it hard to see anything. Hands would occasionally touch his feet on the ground, and he felt a coolness on the back of his neck, as if touching long, wet hair.

This hurt Mu Ci’s young and innocent heart, frightening him to the point where his three souls were scattered. He couldn’t care about past grudges. Following Gu Huai, he found some sense of security – even though he was an asshole, he was still a human being, right?

He reached out to tug at the hem of Gu Huai’s clothes, paused, and finally let go, rubbing his fingers uneasily.

Walking through more corners and passing through creepy rooms, Mu Ci suddenly heard a creaking sound beside him. He subconsciously turned around and faced an ice house. The corpse inside was disemboweled, and its eyeballs were open.

Mu Ci screamed in surprise and finally couldn’t help but rush over like a fox, grabbing Gu Huai’s hand. Only then did he realize something was wrong. Looking up, he faced a face with a dark complexion, hollow eyes, a mouth full of fangs, and a bright red tongue dripping with blood almost hanging in front of his eyes.

“…” The little Prince Mu trembled and finally cried out of fear.

.

Meanwhile, Gu Huai also sensed that something was off. Unfazed by ghosts, he walked forward steadily, listening to the footsteps behind him. Having been through more than half of the haunted house, he wondered why Mu Ci hadn’t come to hug him in fright.

Young Master Gu sighed fondly, guessing that Mu Ci was too shy to hold his hand.

‘If you don’t want to take the initiative, then let your husband reach out and hold you in his arms,’ Gu Huai thought.

With this in mind, he reached back, grabbed the man’s arm, and pulled him into his arms. To his surprise, he saw a rather sturdy Bai Wuchang…

Bai Wuchang was pulled into his arms without warning, his pale face still a little shy. Gu Huai was stunned for a moment, “Brother, who are you?”

Bai Wuchang, being a professional haunted house staff, wouldn’t speak human words unless necessary.

He just gave Gu Huai a look that could only be understood but not described, and walked away in a daze. The light white sleeves matched his stocky figure, which was not very light at all.

Gu Huai watched silently as Bai Wuchang disappeared into the darkness. When he turned around, there was nothing behind him, and there was no trace of Mu Ci anywhere.

Turning it over in his mind, Gu Huai immediately understood: The two probably got separated when entering a certain house or turning a corner. In the dark and messy environment, he only heard footsteps behind him, assuming it was Mu Ci following. Little did he know it was Bai Wuchang.

Mu Ci didn’t call out when they separated. Could it be that he thought he was following Gu Huai? So, who was this little thing following now?

Just as Gu Huai was pondering, he heard a radio announcement above his head. A sweet voice said, “Now the announcement is coming, Mu Ci’s…” There was a pause, and then she continued with some hesitation, “Mu Ci’s Guardian, please go to the lounge. Please Mu Ci’s guardian to come to the lounge.”

Gu Huai: “…”

.

Rushing to the lounge, Gu Huai found Mu Ci sitting on the sofa surrounded by people, holding a glass of hot milk and sobbing uncontrollably.

The tall and thin boy next to him, still in ghostly makeup, handed him a tissue with a guilty look, saying, “I’m sorry, I really didn’t mean to scare you.”

Mu Ci sobbed and took it, wiping his tears with trembling fingers.

Gu Huai squeezed through the crowd and quickly hugged Mu Ci. Ignoring the people around, he comforted softly, “Okay, okay, don’t cry anymore. I’m here. It’s my fault this time. I didn’t notice, and I almost lost you.”

Mu Ci choked, trying to suppress his tears, “I, I’m fine. He just suddenly came out, and I was shocked… I’m not usually this timid.”

Despite his attempt to save face, Gu Huai felt a mix of anger and amusement, pinching Mu Ci’s face, “Okay, stop pretending. You are so scared enough to cry.”
