Chapter 48
“Dad?”
Lou Yiwen couldn’t care less about anything else and pointed at Chi Yu, asking Chi Jing, “Is he your father?”
Chi Jing: “Yes.”
Ou’er Bai gently touched the ends of her hair and whispered, “You two look quite alike. Both are very handsome.”
Of course, Chi Jing and Chi Yu were among the most stunningly attractive individuals among the succubi.
Chi Jing walked towards him and said, “Dad, we’re still recording the show.”
“It doesn’t matter; I don’t mind,” Chi Yu replied, holding up a freshly washed strawberry. “Want one?”
Chi Jing took a bite, finding it very sweet, with a strong strawberry flavor.
The livestream had been repaired on the way back, and after Chi Jing’s unexpected relationship reveal, the number of viewers had not decreased but increased. However, the bullet comments were now deliberately filtered to ensure only a random, limited number appeared, so the live broadcast remained visually clear.
【Wow, he’s another beauty】
【Chi Jing’s dad? Is he really his biological father?】
【When did this happen? And what’s his status? How can he just walk onto the set without an introduction?】
【Lu Tao is standing right next to him. Seems like they know each other】
As the audience was puzzled, Lu Tao stepped forward to introduce him.
“Mr. Chi Yu is the owner of this estate.”
The crowd, already quiet, fell even more silent.
Lu Tao smiled broadly, looking at Chi Yu as if he saw a stream of money and popularity. “Mr. Chi Yu made a special trip to join you for dinner.”
【No wonder Chi Jing was given such a nice room; now it all makes sense】
【Those who thought the room assignments were unfair, still complaining? It’s his dad’s house. Of course, he can give his son the biggest room】
【I even suspect the reason this estate was offered for the show was just for him】
【So when exactly did Chi Jing reconnect with his biological father? Isn’t anyone curious?】
【I guess his father recognized him on TV after he entered the entertainment industry. They look so alike, and there were news reports about the baby switch】
【That makes sense, nothing surprising about it】
The dinner was prepared by the chef Chi Yu brought along, featuring airlifted seafood and the freshest steaks. However, Tang Zhengqing was absent, and Chi Yu had already instructed the chef to remove shells and bones for the dishes.
Shen Yixing sat trembling in the farthest seat, not out of fear, but because his muscles ached from the day’s exertions at the amusement park.
Lou Yiwen noticed that he could barely lift his arms and kindly asked what he wanted to eat.
After a chaotic dinner, Chi Jing pulled Chi Yu back to his room.
“Alright, you sleep in this room,” Chi Jing said as he walked into the dressing room, taking out clean pajamas. “I’ll go to Jiang Yucheng’s room.”
Chi Yu: “I heard you’re dating Jiang Yucheng now.”
Chi Jing: “Yes.”
Chi Yu smiled. “We should all have a meal together sometime.”
Chi Jing: “Sure, I’ll ask him.”
After saying that, he left his dad behind and took a secret passage to Jiang Yucheng’s room.
The bathroom door in Jiang Yucheng’s room was unlocked. Chi Jing tried pushing it and found it open, much to his delight.
Then they ended up staying in the bathroom for two hours.
When they emerged, Jiang Yucheng was carrying him out.
As Chi Jing’s back hit the bed, he naturally rolled to the center and lazily drawled, “My dad wants to meet your parents.”
Meeting each other’s parents during a relationship is a sign of seriousness, so Jiang Yucheng agreed without hesitation.
Chi Jing kicked his leg. “You agreed just like that? What if your parents are busy?”
“They won’t be. They’ll definitely make time.” Jiang Yucheng paused, then bent down to kiss him on the forehead.
“The last time at the villa, my parents already knew I liked you.”
“What did they say?”
“My mom thought I couldn’t win you over.”
Chi Jing laughed, propping himself up on one arm, “Did she really?”
“Yes,” Jiang Yucheng said as he lay down beside him, burying his head in his neck. “But I did win you over. We’re dating now.”
“Yes, we’re dating.”
The last light in the room was turned off, and the darkness swallowed up the intimacy.
Chi Yu seemed to have come just to see Chi Jing for a moment. The next morning, after Chi Jing woke up, he found out that Chi Yu had left the estate by car in the middle of the night.
Chi Jing guessed that his dad didn’t like sleeping alone and had gone to find Tang Zhengqing in the middle of the night.
Still, he sent a message to Tang Zhengqing, confirming that Chi Yu had safely reached him before resuming the filming of the show.
Three days later, the finale of *Our Springtime Rendezvous* officially wrapped up.
Lu Tao couldn’t wait to offer Chi Jing a contract for the next season, but he didn’t sign immediately, saying he would wait until the details for the next season were finalized.
After spending four days and three nights at the estate, he and Jiang Yucheng went straight to the film set.
The *Swords and Blades* crew had fully set up, but Chi Jing’s shooting schedule was arranged for later. However, upon hearing that he and Jiang Yucheng were together, Director Xu immediately invited him to stay on set to get into character early.
Chi Jing didn’t mind. It saved Lu Tao the trouble of arranging another hotel room, and he was happy to stay with Jiang Yucheng, much to Director Xu’s delight.
A month later, the buzz around Chi Jing’s mysterious father with the grand estate had started to die down.
He had also become increasingly familiar with his character through the atmosphere on set and officially began filming his scenes a month later.
Most of his scenes were shot at the film studio, which had been built by Director Xu using his life savings. But if the film did well, the studio could be rented out to other crews to recoup the costs.
Chi Jing played a character named Zhou Si. Due to his mother’s unusual background, Zhou Si had crawled his way up from the bottom of the underworld. Like his mother, he possessed an enchanting allure. Though a man, his every smile could easily capture the hearts of both men and women.
But deep down, Zhou Si preferred a white robe with bamboo patterns. Unfortunately, it wasn’t until his dying moment that he finally got to wear the clothes he loved.
In his final moments, the blood flowing from Zhou Si’s chest stained the white robe with the bamboo patterns—his favorite outfit—turning it into the crimson color he hated the most. Zhou Si, who had sacrificed all his dignity to survive in this world, ultimately died in the red color he despised.
“Cut!”
“Great! That’s a wrap!” Director Xu shouted excitedly, and Chi Jing’s assistant and Mu Jingshan immediately rushed over to offer him a fan and a cooling tea.
Today marked the completion of Chi Jing’s scenes. To ward off bad luck, the director’s assistant ran over with a red envelope for him, a gesture of good fortune.
Mu Jingshan: “Are all the scenes in the film studio done?”
Chi Jing: “Yes, I have the next two days off, and then in three days, we’ll head to the location shoot.”
However, Chi Jing didn’t have any scenes at the location shoot. As of now, all his scenes were done, and he was officially off work.
Mu Jingshan: “Mr. Tang just messaged me. He’ll be here in half an hour.”
Chi Jing: “Got it.”
He returned to the dressing room to remove his makeup, just as Jiang Yucheng returned.
“Let’s go, time to eat.” He leaned on Jiang Yucheng, “You go remove your makeup first; Dad and Father are just outside the set.”
Chi Yu couldn’t stay put in Haishi, so he decided to visit Chi Jing at the film set. When Tang Zhengqing found out, he quickly booked a ticket for the next day.
Their plane landed at the film city half an hour ago.
Chi Jing originally wanted to take Tang Zhengqing and Chi Yu to the local restaurant they visited last time, but when they got there, they found the restaurant was fully booked for lunch. He had to settle for the hotel restaurant instead.
Luckily, the hotel’s food wasn’t bad, just a bit ordinary.
After lunch, he leaned back in his chair, waiting for his overstuffed stomach to digest.
Chi Yu: “I’m going to the restroom.”
After Chi Yu left, Chi Jing moved closer to Jiang Yucheng, unreservedly placing his full weight on him. “So full, it’s uncomfortable.”
Jiang Yucheng glanced at Tang Zhengqing, who was on the phone discussing a contract, and honestly placed his hand on Chi Jing’s stomach, gently rubbing it in circles.
Chi Jing closed his eyes in comfort.
But he didn’t get to enjoy it for long. After Chi Yu returned from the restroom, they planned to catch an afternoon flight back to Haishi.
But because they boarded the plane, Chi Jing missed a breaking piece of gossip.
#Chi Jing Spotted Entering and Exiting a Hotel with a Middle-Aged Man#
Unfortunately, the middle-aged man in question was his father, Tang Zhengqing.
