Chapter 556: Informing Mrs. Gu
Xia Chuyi explained with a smile, "The purpose of my trip to G City was actually to find someone."
"The Master I'm talking about is my new mentor, Old Sir Guan Yide, the successor of imperial cuisine," Xia Chuyi didn't beat around the bush and went straight to the point.
"This time when I returned to Capital City, my Master came back with me."
"Because of that, our luggage was too much, so we didn't bring any local snacks."
This statement was somewhat of an explanation.
After all, snacks take up a lot of space.
"As for something delicious, once my Master has rested and is settled in, I'll take you to try his cooking,"
"I guarantee it will amaze you," Xia Chuyi emphasized with utter certainty.
Hearing this, Jiang Shuqin suddenly became interested and asked happily, "Is it really that amazing?"
Xia Chuyi nodded, "Of course, that's my Master."
Seeing how confident she was, Jiang Shuqin immediately nodded vigorously, "Mmhmm, I'll definitely have to experience that for myself if I get the chance!"
Xia Chuyi couldn't help but chuckle.
Sure enough, mention good food and Jiang Shuqin gets excited.
She smiled at Jiang Shuqin, "Don't worry, there will definitely be a chance."
Because she guessed that even though her Master and his wife had come to Capital City, when the time was right, they would probably open a private restaurant again.
After all, a chef's worth is best reflected in their patrons.
After returning to the dormitory, Xia Chuyi went to see the counselor, reported back from her leave, and then went to Professor Bao's house.
"You're back?" Mrs. Gu greeted her as warmly as ever, "How did it go? Did you find who you were looking for?"
"Yes, I found him," Xia Chuyi replied, "I have to thank Professor Bao for helping me get leave."
Mrs. Gu smiled gently, "Oh, you child, why be so polite with us?"
Xia Chuyi smiled along.
Next, she asked about Mrs. Gu's recent health condition.
After confirming that Mrs. Gu had been taking Medicinal Food regularly and was feeling well, Xia Chuyi said to her, "Master, actually, there's something I need to talk to you about..."
Seeing her serious expression, Mrs. Gu grew a bit curious and asked, "What is it? Go ahead and tell me."
Xia Chuyi organized her thoughts and then spoke, "Master, do you by chance have a sister named Gu Xiu Fang?"
"How do you know that?" Hearing Xia Chuyi's question, Mrs. Gu was somewhat surprised, but she confirmed shortly after, "Yes, I do have a sister named Gu Xiu Fang."
There was an evident touch of melancholy in Mrs. Gu's voice when she mentioned "Gu Xiu Fang".
"However, we haven't seen each other for many years," Mrs. Gu sighed and continued, "I don't even know if she is still alive or where she lives."
Mrs. Gu looked out of the window, seemingly lost in recollection.
"By the way, why are you suddenly asking about this?" Suddenly, Mrs. Gu questioned her, "Did you hear this name somewhere?"
Xia Chuyi watched Mrs. Gu, ensuring that the emotions she saw in her eyes were puzzlement, wistfulness, and longing, but no resentment.
Only then did she say, "Master, actually, the person I went to find is named Guan Yide, a recipient and inheritor of imperial cuisine."
"Guan Yide?" Mrs. Gu frowned slightly, "That name sounds so familiar."
Seeing Mrs. Gu's reaction, Xia Chuyi continued, "The wife of Master Guan Yide is named Gu Xiu Fang."
