Chapter 70 - Favour (2)
Zang Ya, on the other hand, looked at An Yun’s troubled expression and said slowly, “You can go.”
An Yun was a little hesitant, and suddenly he heard a voice. He hadn’t reacted yet, so he turned his head to look at Zang Ya, confusion in his eyes. “What?”
Zang Ya raised his hand and touched An Yun’s red lips, which had been kissed by him, and said calmly, “I’m already awake. I don’t need you to accompany me all the time. Go and check out the store, so you don’t have to worry about it.”
Zang Ya had always been domineering and unscrupulous. Suddenly hearing him say something so considerate made An Yun a little touched. At the same time, he firmed up his thoughts and shook his head. “No, I’ll stay with you here. The store is here, anyway, it can’t run away for a while, so I can decorate it anytime.”
When Zang Ya heard what An Yun said, the hand that had pressed his lips became heavier, almost touching his tongue. He had just tasted it, and it was moist with a hint of sweetness.
An Yun wanted to hide, but he didn’t.
Zang Ya’s fingertips rubbed his lips, making the spot where he had just been kissed feel like it was burning with pain. Unexpectedly, Zang Ya continued to speak at this moment, “No need. There are other servants here, I don’t need you to accompany me all the time. You should go and come back early.”
An Yun was confused.
Zang Ya said a few more words of persuasion.
An Yun finally compromised and promised that he would leave early and return early.
Zang Ya asked An Yun to change his clothes before leaving, and at the same time, his eyes circled around his body.
An Yun felt a little uncomfortable under that gaze. He looked down and found that when he had been too involved in the kiss, he had sweated a little, and some parts of his clothes were soaked.
Of course, there were also areas that didn’t look wet with sweat, which made An Yun blush at the first glance.
At that moment, An Yun didn’t know whether to complain that his body was prone to sweating or to scold Zang Ya for being a pervert.
An Yun said some orders outside, changed his clothes, and followed the maid out.
After An Yun left, Zang Ya stopped smiling when he was around and called out to someone outside.
Soon, Qing Yue walked around the screen and entered, standing silently in front of Zang Ya.
“Let Ming Yue bring my father back and reveal to my grandmother the news that I was whipped this time because I refused to help the You family.”
“Understood,” Qing Yue replied, and quickly turned to carry out the order.
.
Although An Yun had been successfully persuaded by Zang Ya, he still remembered him in his heart and just wanted to resolve the matter quickly before returning.
After getting off the carriage, An Yun went straight to the shop to communicate with Shopkeeper Xu and discuss the carpenter’s decoration design he wanted. There was no small talk during the process. When problems arose, he immediately pointed out the issue and how to resolve it.
This efficient and resolute approach made those who had scorned An Yun because of his young age and status gradually begin to respect him. They even worked with more urgency.
An Yun stayed there for about an hour. Once the key issues were nearly solved, he spent another half hour explaining to Shopkeeper Xu what needed to be done in his absence.
After everything was dealt with, An Yun got back into the carriage and returned to Zang Mansion.
However, as An Yun entered the mansion, he felt something strange in the air. Though the guards at the door still stood at attention, and the maids bustled through the halls as usual, something about the atmosphere seemed different.
An Yun felt uneasy, but since he cared only for Zang Ya’s well-being, he didn’t pay much attention to the rest.
Upon reaching the courtyard and asking the maid guarding the door, he was relieved to learn that Zang Ya’s condition was stable and there was no emergency.
An Yun walked inside, first going to check on Zang Ya, who was sleeping at the time.
Qing Yue, who was sitting nearby, softly explained that Zang Ya had been active for a while after waking up, had taken medicine, and had fallen asleep again.
An Yun knew that Zang Ya needed more rest, so he quietly stepped out, went to the room next to his, changed into clean clothes, and then stayed outside with the other maids.
When An Yun came out, the maids simply saluted him before going about their tasks. They weren’t as fearful of him as they were of Zang Ya.
Xiao Cui glanced at the sky, then at An Yun, sitting there. She went inside and returned with a thin cloak, gently draping it over his shoulders.
An Yun noticed the weight of the cloak on him, looked up, and saw Xiao Cui standing next to him. He smiled softly and patted the spot next to him, motioning for her to sit.
Xiao Cui smiled back but didn’t sit down. Instead, she stood beside him.
An Yun looked at the sky for a while before suddenly speaking. “The young master gave me a shop yesterday and also gave me two hundred taels of silver as capital to open the business.”
Xiao Cui’s eyes widened in surprise at his words. After a moment, she smiled happily. “So, you can open your own lip balm shop now?”
An Yun nodded, smiling. “Yes.”
Xiao Cui clapped her hands with excitement. “Fulang, tell me about the shop! I want to be happy for you too!”
An Yun shared the news with Xiao Cui intending to let her share in his happiness. When Xiao Cui asked, he spoke directly.
After hearing this, Xiao Cui’s jaw dropped, and after a moment, she looked at An Yun with a complicated expression. Her tone became a bit strange. “Fulang, the young master is so kind to you. That street is one of the busiest in the city, with very few shops that aren’t profitable, and they’re all controlled by aristocratic families. I’m afraid the young master spent a lot of money to give you this shop, or perhaps bought an already prosperous one.”
An Yun fell silent for a moment. After a while, he smiled softly and shook his head. “I don’t know. The young master didn’t tell me. He just gave it to me, and I accepted.”
When he said this, An Yun’s eyes flickered with complexity. He looked at the sky, a lonely expression clouding his face.
He had accepted what Zang Ya had given him, and as for the rest, he didn’t feel it was his place to ask. He knew that asking more wouldn’t change anything.
