Chapter 8 A Trip to the Star Realm
"Unrestrictedly carrying human souls, hiding the beings of this civilization within another civilization... that place must be very beautiful, right? To be honest, Yaier, *I am really a bit curious.*"
Wenresa Iluvita said this to the human woman, and then seeing the worried look in her eyes, she added, "But, I'm not that curious."
That's good...
After all, "curious" and "too curious" are entirely different levels in this matter... The former might be just simple curiosity, while the latter, to put it harshly, could be called a *self-destructive tendency.*
"Wenresa, you..."
The human woman had just started to speak.
"Calamity, huh... Yila sure knows how to get people to do things."
Wenresa's sigh interrupted her. Feeling helpless, she looked at their slowly sinking bodies heading towards the Star Realm and said, "When did he start naturally considering us as part of his camp?"
In response, the human woman shrugged, indicating she didn't know either. She looked at herself gradually sinking into the distorted air through Wenresa's "Raven Rainbow Eye - Gate" and said, "Once something happens, it tends to happen again~"
"That's true. Perhaps from the moment Ernie first sought the human woman's help, from the first official meeting between Yila and the two of them, it was destined to gradually lead to this step..."
"..."
"That 'once' of 'once something happens' was done by you first!"
Wenresa retorted, and then the two of them fell into the void... Accompanied by the flashing scenes like a rainbow before their eyes, the two quickly traveled from the Main Plane to the Star Realm.
Although they crossed the Spirit Realm midway, their strength did not significantly decrease... slightly, but not much.
"..."
Soon, someone noticed their arrival... This was a humanoid creature, entirely black with shining starlight specks all over its body, surrounded by a white outline that distinguished it from the black world of the endless starry sky.
"The bloodline of a divine descendant, no matter how many times I see it, it's always so amazing."
The Starlight Body remarked, and under Wenresa's gaze, who was covering her eyes and calming her breath, it answered before they even asked, "I'm not sure what 'calamity' exactly is, but I do understand the aberrant Mana that is hidden."
Because it had always been watching Yila, the Starlight Body was aware of that conversation as well.
"The Mana that appears at the end of spring, causing magic beasts to breed explosively and go berserk... the Mana sealed in the Extreme North... everyone already knows these two, and in your knowledge..."
"The things sealed above Heaven and below Hell are undoubtedly two of them. The offspring of the Evil God is another... but I'm not sure if that matches the so-called 'ocean' calamity prophesied by the Pope, or if there are more calamities."
"Next is a crucial one, the calamity belonging to humans..."
The Starlight Body said this, extending its hand to draw curves in the air, "Wenresa, you were the first to sense the aura on Ernie, indicating world-destruction potential... The Main Plane is indeed a fragile place."
Moreover, Ernie might just be one of the calamities of the Destroyer.
In other words, many people have the potential for world-destruction, and now Wenresa did not know where to find such people... However, even if she knew, she had no interest in doing something about it.
At most, she would tell Yila.
But Wenresa also realized that if it were her in the past, she wouldn't even have the interest to "inform"... Now she was unknowingly involved in the drama.
But it was quite interesting...
"..."
"..."
"And then?"
In response to Wenresa's words, the Starlight Body did not continue but tilted its head and said, "Those secrets are the domain of the gods. Before Mana officially erupts, what my eyes can see isn't more than what you two can see."
"..."
In the silence, the human woman somewhat understood what the Starlight Body meant and nodded affirmatively, "In other words, Little Star, you don't know much either?"
"..."
Silence represented consent.
"Is that so? Do you know anyone with deeper knowledge in this field?"
Wenresa asked.
The Starlight Body, who was called "Little Star" by the human woman, shook its head and said, "Everyone who has direct contact with the calamity knows more specifics than I do, but as for a deeper understanding... perhaps the truth has long been buried with history."
So you know nothing?!
"I see. If that's the case, I'll ask the Hunting Squad at the Dark Rift later."
Wenresa sighed as she said this. She sat down amidst the brilliant stars... As she sat, a chair and cushion appeared beneath her, and the human woman similarly sat down in the Star Realm.
The two of them needed a rest, as Wenresa Iluvita's "Raven Rainbow Eye" couldn't be used consecutively. She was merely a divine descendant, not a direct bloodline of a god... of course, she wasn't like the "Silent Species" with only thin blood.
"Do you know where Yila comes from?"
The human woman asked the Starlight Body. The Starlight Body thought for a moment and said, "Only Yila himself knows the answer to that question. Instead of asking me, why not ask Yila himself?"
Wouldn't it be easier to just say "I don't know"?!
"It must be a wonderful plane..."
The human woman guessed irresponsibly. She swung her legs and said, "I can't imagine what kind of great nation Yila wants to reshape... Probably better than the current Demon King Territory."
But to be honest, even in the eyes of these outsiders, the current Demon King Territory was already quite an impressive and beautiful nation... beautiful like the half-plane of "Avalon."
Even lovelier than the "appearance" of Avalon.
"The survivors of civilization, the bearers... it indeed sounds like a cruel identity."
Wenresa casually commented, leaning back on the sofa behind her, looking at the Starlight Body standing there. After thinking for a moment, she sat up on the stool, which immediately became softer with a cushion, and said, "Maybe the civilization that needs bearing isn't just one."
"..."
The implication of those words was a bit ominous... Especially since Wenresa Iluvita herself had a rather tenuous connection with "ravens."
While the trio engaged in their not-quite-a-conversation, another portal appeared in the sky of the Star Realm... This was a formal gate, a conventional route to the Star Realm.
"You have a guest. We're leaving."
"..."
The Starlight Body nodded, watching as a bloodied human boy stepped out of the portal. It raised its head slightly, looking at the boy, and a long table and crystal ball appeared in front of it. It said, "Welcome to the Star Realm. Choose the knowledge you seek, the future you wish to see... and pay the corresponding price."
