Chapter 3:
Chapter 3:
At the back mountain of the Azure Sun Sword Sect, inside the Reflection Cave.
Xiao Yang, who was meditating in the cave, suddenly opened his eyes.
“Demonic energy…”
He stood up swiftly, then walked out of the cave. Looking up, he saw sword lights swirling and flying in the sky above Azure Sun Peak, engaged in a fierce battle with several shadowy demonic figures.
The sword energy was overwhelming, while the demonic aura surged like a tidal wave.
The swordmasters of the Azure Sun Sword Sect were locked in a relentless struggle against the invading demonic cultivators. The terrifying fluctuations shook the surrounding area.
The entire sect was thrown into chaos. Disciples moved in a flurry, shouting and running everywhere.
“How is this possible…”
Xiao Yang was stunned.
He distinctly remembered that in his previous life, the Demon Sect didn’t attack the Azure Sun Sword Sect at this time.
Could his rebirth have caused some changes in the course of events?
“Interesting!” Xiao Yang thought of something and narrowed his eyes.
The next moment, a crimson sword light shot out from behind a large boulder nearby, piercing straight toward him.
The menacing sword energy was suffocating.
“The Crimson Demon Sword?” Xiao Yang was startled. Things were unfolding just as he had suspected.
He swiftly stepped forward.
The crimson sword light grazed the back of his robe, narrowly missing him.
With a flip of his right hand, sword energy began to condense. A radiant sword instantly materialized in his hand.
A figure clad in black emerged from behind the boulder, controlling the Crimson Demon Sword with the art of sword manipulation.
The crimson sword light made a sharp turn in mid-air and came slashing toward Xiao Yang once more.
Xiao Yang smirked coldly and swung his sword.
The fierce sword energy burst from his hand and collided directly with the crimson sword light, sending it flying.
“Your cultivation isn’t sealed?” the black-robed man exclaimed in shock.
Xiao Yang’s expression turned cold.
Without hesitation, he thrust his sword at the man.
The sword light, cold as lightning, pierced through the black-robed man’s left shoulder in an instant. A spray of blood erupted from his wound.
The black-robed man was flung backward but still managed to recall the Crimson Demon Sword mid-air.
The crimson sword light enveloped him, and with a flash, he disappeared into the night.
Xiao Yang did not give chase.
He stared thoughtfully in the direction the man had fled.
Soon, the demonic cultivators attacking the sect also retreated.
“A feint, with the real aim to kill me? So impatient?” Xiao Yang chuckled.
The flying sword in his hand dissipated into strands of sword energy, which then flowed into his body. Within his dantian, the sword energy coalesced into a sword core, its pure energy nourishing his meridians, bones, and flesh.
This was the sword cultivator’s method of tempering the body with sword energy.
Earlier, his Master, Jiang Qitian, had sealed his cultivation with sword energy. But shortly after arriving at the Reflection Cave, Xiao Yang had forced out the energy sealing his powers.
“Qin Fei, Qin Fei… After ten years of hiding, you’ve finally revealed your fangs.”
Xiao Yang knew this was Qin Fei’s doing.
Qin Fei had always been an undercover agent of the Demon Sect, a fact Xiao Yang only discovered at the end of his previous life.
In this life, however, Qin Fei had no secrets from him.
After killing Xiao Yang, Qin Fei would quickly take the position of Holy Son with his immense talent, advancing his sinister plans.
“Qin Fei, since you’re so eager to be the sect’s Holy Son, I’ll help you achieve it!” Xiao Yang muttered as he turned and walked back into the Reflection Cave.
The entire night passed without anyone checking on him.
His Master, Junior Sister, and fellow disciples—none came to see how he was doing. It was as if he had been forgotten by everyone.
Xiao Yang felt a profound calmness within.
Because he no longer cared.
The next day, however, two unexpected visitors arrived.
“Senior Brother…”
Early in the morning, Jiang Ting’s voice echoed from outside the Reflection Cave.
Inside, Xiao Yang sat cross-legged on a large stone slab. He exhaled a deep breath, slowly opening his eyes.
He rose from the stone slab and leapt down, stepping out of the cave.
In his previous life, during his time in the Reflection Cave, Jiang Ting had never once come to visit him. She had been too busy accompanying Qin Fei on training missions down the mountain.
This time of year marked the annual training expedition for the younger generation of Azure Sun Sword Sect disciples.
Originally, Xiao Yang was supposed to lead the disciples on this mission. But due to Qin Fei’s framing, he was punished with confinement, and the task was handed over to their Second Senior Brother, Zheng Fan.
During that mission, Qin Fei orchestrated the death of their Third Senior Brother and staged a dramatic rescue of Jiang Ting, earning the reputation of a selfless hero.
From then on, Jiang Ting became even more devoted to her “savior.”
But in this life, things had changed.
When Xiao Yang saw Qin Fei standing behind Jiang Ting, his expression darkened.
Qin Fei’s face was pale, and upon seeing Xiao Yang emerge, he forced a stiff smile.
“Senior Brother…” Qin Fei said awkwardly.
Xiao Yang sneered internally. This guy was acting again.
“Senior Brother, we’ve brought you some food. It’s all your favorite dishes,” Jiang Ting said, handing over a food box.
Xiao Yang didn’t take it.
“Junior Sister, I don’t know how I offended Senior Brother, but he still refuses to forgive me,” Qin Fei said cautiously.
“Senior Brother, why do you always target Junior Brother? What did he do to you? If it’s his fault, I’ll make him apologize. But if you’re being unreasonable, then you’re really going too far,” Jiang Ting said angrily.
“Am I going too far, Junior Brother?” Xiao Yang said, walking up to Qin Fei and patting him on the left shoulder.
Qin Fei let out a pained grunt.
“Senior Brother, what are you doing?” Jiang Ting immediately stepped in front of Qin Fei, shielding him.
“Junior Brother, I’m sorry. It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have targeted you or framed you. Please don’t hold it against me,” Xiao Yang said coldly. “Now, can you leave?”
He didn’t want to see either of them.
When he patted Qin Fei’s shoulder just now, he confirmed the identity of the black-robed man from the previous night.
“Senior Brother, you—”
“Leave!” Xiao Yang roared at Jiang Ting.
“You… you yelled at me?” Jiang Ting’s eyes reddened, and tears almost fell.
Xiao Yang had never shouted at her before.
“Don’t bother me anymore!” Xiao Yang said coldly.
In his previous life, seeing Jiang Ting upset would have torn him apart, and he would have done anything to comfort her. But now, her feelings meant nothing to him.
“What’s wrong with you, Senior Brother?” Jiang Ting asked, panicking. The Senior Brother in front of her felt like a completely different person—cold and distant.
She reached out to grab his hand.
“I said, leave!” Xiao Yang snapped, shaking her off forcefully.
Jiang Ting stumbled and nearly fell.
“What are you doing, Senior Brother!” Qin Fei stepped forward and pushed Xiao Yang.
“You dare lay a hand on me?” Xiao Yang’s gaze turned icy. In his past life, this Demon Sect spy had ruined him completely.
He almost couldn’t resist ending Qin Fei right then and there.
But killing him now would be too merciful.
He wanted to wait. Wait until Qin Fei stood at the pinnacle of his life, when he thought everything was under his control, and then crush him into the dirt.
But for now, he wouldn’t tolerate him either.
“Boom!”
Xiao Yang suddenly kicked Qin Fei, sending him flying.
“Junior Brother…” Jiang Ting froze in shock.
“I’ve been wanting to hit you for a long time.” Xiao Yang leapt forward and began punching and kicking the fallen Qin Fei.
