Chapter 15: Chapter 15: A little rest

Chapter 15: A Little Break

Harry was watching the television without blinking as he moved his hand from the popcorn jar to his mouth, not realizing that at times he wasn't bringing any food to his mouth.

"Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father"

"He told me enough... He told me that you killed him!"

"No... I... I'm your father!"

"No... that's not true... It's impossible!"

"Search your feelings! You know it's true!"

"No!... NOOOO!!"

Harry opened his nostrils a little more than normal and breathed heavily: "Holy shit... this is good"

"It would be great to be able to use the force, but I don't know about being a Jedi. They seem like people who put aside a lot of things so as not to fall to the dark side of the force," Harry commented to himself, as he watched the movie continue. He had bought a Laserdisc player and the original Star Wars trilogy out of curiosity. He never expected it to be so interesting and entertaining.

Harry was feeling quite relaxed. He had left his research and homework two days ago. He knew he couldn't spend every day studying or researching. He decided he should relax and do things he couldn't do properly before, and one of them was watching a movie, relaxed and undisturbed.

Another thing Harry was looking forward to trying was cooking. Not for his uncles or because it was an order he needed to perform almost perfectly, but because he was curious about some recipes or making his own food much more delicious.

Since he started making his own decisions and not letting others interfere in his life, Harry realized that he felt much freer. Even without friends currently, he felt happy with his current life. The sadness of leaving his two friends in their own worlds had disappeared, knowing that they would meet again eventually.

Right now he only had to worry about himself and that his life didn't go to shit. That was his only concern, not Voldemort or other people anymore. The latter, especially now, no longer caused him fear. He knew how to defeat him definitively, he understood that if he decided to look for the Horcruxes in these days, the battle after the third and final task of the tournament could be the end of Voldemort if he was careful enough when standing in front of the Dark Lord. But, he had no intention of defeating him at that moment.

What would happen if he defeated him at that moment?... his followers would continue to walk free as if nothing had happened and the wizards and witches would not learn anything from this. Most did not know that Voldemort was out there, in spirit form. But, when he appeared and everyone knew, most would fear him and do nothing; they would throw all the responsibility on Harry, just for being called the boy-who-lived.

The current wizarding society of Great Britain was arrogant. They had Voldemort and the ancestors of magic from the great island were famous and powerful. Britain's rich history of magic elevated it to one of the best in the world, but in this Age it wasn't the same. Wizards and witches had let it go to their heads and didn't even try to improve themselves, making them just sheep who followed the majority and whatever they were told to do.

In order to change, they had to suffer. And, even if Harry didn't want them to suffer, he wasn't a god, he wasn't a hero; he was just a teenager; capable of defeating Voldemort, yes? But a large group of cruel people alongside the Dark Lord himself? At the same time?... That was impossible for him.

If Britain wanted Voldemort dead, he would have no problem annihilating the Dark Lord. But if he wanted him to do everything?... Hell, Harry would give them the middle finger and tell them to fuck off without any regrets. They had to stand up for themselves in order to create a much better tomorrow. They had to fight for their own lives, they had to fight back themselves.

Oh, Harry understood perfectly well that not everyone had the power to fight, but if they hid and screamed at the mere name of the Dark Lord, then they were people who couldn't think straight. People who didn't have the will to see a better future, people who didn't care about their surroundings, people who didn't care about their country and would never be of help to the rest.

He hoped that the rest of the wizarding world wasn't the same as Britain, he had a small light of hope shining in the back of his mind, hoping to see the true wonders of this wizarding world.

But at the same time, he hoped he wouldn't be disappointed once again.

. . .

Harry stretched his arms up as his stiff body tensed a little from sitting for so long. His eyes closed and small tears formed in the corners of his eyes as he yawned. When he looked out the window, he realized it was already nighttime and sighed a little.

"Time goes by fast when you're entertaining yourself," he muttered before getting up and walking to the kitchen, and throwing the jar of popcorn into the trash. But when he looked at the fridge, he sighed a little annoyed.

"By the way... I forgot to buy some things to cook dinner," resigned to not being able to eat dinner, he went to the bathroom to brush his teeth and then to bed. However, when he covered himself up and settled perfectly in bed, his phone rang with a notification, managing to surprise Harry.

Raising his eyebrows, he picked up the phone that was on the table next to his bed and blinked at the notification that took him to the chat group. The window that showed the clock was still there, but hidden by another one that showed a bit of information and a new mission.

[The group chat app will issue a mission every so often for the user: Harry Potter]

[By doing this, the app takes care of its priority parameter, making its users stronger]

[New Event! - The Moon and the Wolf!]

[Lycanthropy is the term for the magical disease that turns people into fearsome and deadly wolves. Discover the reasons for the transformation and possible solutions to these people's problem]

Harry looked up at the ceiling and let out a groan of annoyance: "Aaarrrgh! Of all the missions that could be issued, a really complicated one jumped out!"

However, while he felt annoyed by the suddenness of the mission, at the same time he began to feel excitement for his possible discoveries. He couldn't sleep anymore! His body and mind were begging him to get up and start right now to investigate everything he could!

"No... no... I have to rest. There's no point in trying this without proper rest. I'll sleep, and tomorrow I'll wake up with renewed energy and I'll be able to investigate," Harry muttered before exhaling and settling back down and closing his eyes so he could sleep peacefully.

. . .

Sitting inside a cafe in London at around eleven in the morning, Harry had a cup of coffee a little ways away while holding a book in his left hand and a fork in his right hand, slowly moving from the piece of Mocha cake to his mouth.

"Mmm..." Harry muttered as he put the book down on the table and closed his eyes, "I thought I could find information in muggle books that contained information from ancient times. But, aside from the fantastic ideas that people thought of in those times, there's not much to be found."

"The problem is that I also need samples from werewolves for this mission. Does blood have something to do with it? Spiritual energy? What really causes the change?... I have a lot of unresolved questions and little time before classes start and it's harder to research and find information."

Harry sighed before drinking some of his coffee while keeping his eyes closed. The café didn't have many people, so it didn't matter much that he spoke quietly to himself, no one would really take it that seriously.

"Would Moony accept if I asked for some kind of sample?"

"But then there would still be the question of how to investigate that sample. Would a microscope make sense? I could buy one for points, as well as information. But that would influence the launch of some types of quests itself. Plus losing chat points for something I could find with other means other than the shop."

"Wait...", Harry narrowed his eyes a little: "Maybe asking for help wouldn't be that hard. There is a person who could give me information if I'm honest."

Harry smiled before eating a little more calmly and finishing in not too much time. He paid for all his breakfast and left the café and went to take the bus back to his house. He had to take his broom in order to travel to the place where he could receive some help.
