Ace's Obsession

They were led to their table, and given menu's, Luna's eyes widened at the prices, these were beyond expensive.

She would calculate later how much she splurged and see how to make up for it. William had brought her here for a date and it would be mean of her to complain.

Rather, she will enjoy this night as a treat for herself and be frugal for the rest of the month.

"Don't worry, it's on me." As if he read her mind.

Luna shook her head. There was no way that she would let him take this on by himself.

She knew that he was not undermining her, but that he was being a gentleman, and she appreciated it.

"I can't let you be the only one putting in effort."

Which was partly true.

"It's not a big deal and I can afford it. Your presence is payment enough for me."

She couldn't agree. Luna had always paid for everything for herself. It did not sit right with her for anyone to pay for her. "I know, but you drove us here, the least I coul........"

William smiled. "I don't think of it that way. I brought you here knowing so....."

"Nothing you say will change my mind. I am not budging on this, William."

"How about you pay for your meal and I pay for mine?"

She smiled and nodded. "And we split the tip."

"That sounds good."

She smiled, "Great, now we can have some fun."

He shook his head. "You're something."

"Huh?"

He chuckled, "First time a woman insisted on paying."

Luna smiled, "There is a first time for everything."

"You're definitely unique Luna."

Luna smiled at how perplexed he seemed.

The night progressed,

Luna had lost count as to how much she laughed. William was interesting and they had completely different lives.

He was as wild as it got. He enjoyed mischief and living life on the edge. She did envy him as he lived life to the fullest and he didn't care what many people thought.

"So how is a charming man such as yourself not have a girlfriend?"

"The right one had not come along until now."

"Why me?"

"When I saw you standing your ground with Ace."

Luna sighed. "Don't get me started on him."

"Well, your defiance drew me in and I liked it, a lot."

"Oh......."

"Besides I come at your restaurant, but you have never noticed me."

"What?"

"You see, that is what I mean. I have twice asked for your help so I could hear your voice and you were so invested in work that you made sure I got the service quickly. Then you would head back to your tables without looking back."

"I don't remember serving you."

"I know. Getting your attention is very hard."

Luna nodded, "True."

"So I didn't know how to approach you."

Luna chuckled, "Sweet."

William raised his eyebrow. "Sweet?"

"Yes."

"Should I be worried?"

Luna smiled, "No, that is a good sign."

"Then I'm pleased to be sweet, and I hope you like sweets."

Luna giggled, "Seriously?"

He pouted, "But you started it, I'm just following your lead."

"You're right, I'm to blame." She teased him.

"I'm glad that you now see me."

She smiled, "Me too, but my job is the most important thing to me."

He gave her a melting grin. "I hope to change that."

Luna blushed a bit and looked away.

The night carried on and the conversation carried on as they laughed, drank and got to know one other.

They now were headed back to her place. When they got there, William climbed out and opened the door for her.

She climbed out the car, and he walked her to the front door,

"I hope we can do this again."

Luna smiled and blushed a bit with the way he was looking at her. "I would like that."

He was beautifully carved, and his eyes had light in them.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

Luna's eyes widened, "I DID NOT MEAN....."

He took her hand. "I like the way you were looking at me."

She blushed, "Oh…."

He placed a kiss on her cheek and his scent engulfed her, "I will see you very soon."

"Thank you for the roses."

"It's only a pleasure, you should get in so that I know you're safe."

Luna smiled and waved at him.

After that she got ready for bed and put the roses in a vase. She was grinning from ear to ear.

After that, she lay in bed, replaying the night over and over again. Her phone vibrated.

"I can't wait to see you soon."

She smiled. "I'm glad you got home safely and I can't wait to see you soon."

Her phone vibrated once more, "Sleep tight and dream of me Luna."

She smiled heavily. "Night, sweet dreams."
