Abyssal Sovereign: The Demon's Dominion

Chapter 261:Never enough, last sacrifice

No one cared whether they had once been the strongest beings in the universe or simple mortals. In the end, everyone broke down in tears and said their goodbyes.

Some went on dates, some made out, some simply held each other close.

Everyone tried to make every second count.

The two hours were almost gone when the final broadcast began.

"I hope everyone has done what they could…" Meka paused, a tear sliding down his face. Everyone could see how much it hurt him. Beside him stood the other powerhouses, all with tears in their eyes.

How painful it was—to give everything for your people, for your race, only to discover it was never enough. To work so hard, to sacrifice so much, to bleed and fight, only to learn that in the end, it was meaningless. Their sweat, their wounds, their victories… all in vain.

"Well… it's time for the end. The end of a universe. Shera, do you have anything left to say?" Meka asked, gazing at his wife. She was still as beautiful as she had been a thousand years ago.

Shera's expression was calm, but her eyes burned with fire.

"Everyone. This is the end. Time will fully collapse in ten minutes. That will be our finish. But… are we really just going to give up? Fine—we cannot touch time with our energy. But what about our combined strength? Our forged will? The will of all humanity?!"

Her voice rose, her body trembling.

"Humans are gods—I tell you, GODS! We have conquered, created, and ruled this universe. And I'll be damned if we let something like this be our end!"

She closed her eyes, as if making her final decision. Then she looked back at her family, her comrades, her friends—and finally at the mirror broadcasting her words to the universe.

"You might ask, what's the point? Why go to a war that has no chance of victory? Why throw your life away? Isn't that foolish? Isn't that stupid? Yes! Yes, it is!" Her voice shook, then grew sharper, louder. "I am foolish! I am stupid! But look around you—we have children, we have friends, we have comrades, we have lovers! Do you want to watch them perish? Do you want to see your children vanish before your eyes?

From the days of cavemen, humans have always overcome. We have lost, we have bled, we have risen again. This is just another wall, another obstacle we WILL break. Impossible? I don't care! I see a light at the end of the tunnel, and I will reach it—not for myself, but for all of you! For my children, for my comrades, for my lover—for humanity!"

Her voice exploded across the universe.

"One for all, all for one!!!"

The crowd roared with her.

"ONE FOR ALL! ALL FOR ONE!"

"Please," Shera shouted, "as long as you have stepped into the cultivation realm, believe in me! Chant for humanity! Converge your will! Together—we will face this!"

The world itself began to crack. Skies shattered, people grew young, then old, then young again in flashes. Plants withered and bloomed, animals died and were reborn. Time was collapsing. Space was worse.

But humanity stood firm.

From the weakest cultivator to the strongest, they poured everything into Shera. A transparent crown formed on her head.

Emperor of Humanity.

She felt the will of the entire human race, and the power it carried. She leapt beyond the sovereign realm, into heights she had never dreamed of.

But it still wasn't enough. No matter how strong she became, undoing the erasure of a universe was impossible.

"NOT ENOUGH! MORE! MORE!" Shera screamed, as bloodlines ignited and the powerhouses offered up everything they had. Her strength pushed further, breaking through to another dimension.

There she saw it—a feminine silhouette, holding a crumbling orb. The Law of Time. Around it, countless other orbs were breaking apart.

"Shera…" a familiar voice echoed. The universe's consciousness.

"Do something!" Shera begged, staring at the falling orbs.

"My daughter… there is nothing I can do. It is unchangeable."

Shera gritted her teeth.

"Daughter, am I? If I'm your daughter—if all of us are your children—then why the hell aren't you TRYING to save us?!"

Her cry tore through the void, but the silhouette remained still. Shera felt her hope falter.

She returned to the physical realm, her voice breaking.

"I call upon the planets, the stars, the void beasts—ALL of you! For our survival, please… help us!"

The universe trembled. To the shock of everyone watching, planets, galaxies, beasts, and even stars responded. They had consciousness—and they poured it into Shera.

Back in the higher dimension, Shera's form grew. Hundreds of meters tall, she towered above the crumbling orbs. Compared to them, she was a giant. She reached out with both hands, forcing them together.

She was so powerful that, in the physical realm, a single step could destroy a galaxy. But here, her strength barely moved the orbs. It was like trying to push iron mountains with bare hands.

And then she felt it—the weight of the universe. Infinite. Crushing.

Blood poured from her eyes. Her body shook.

Maybe it was the sight of her sacrifice, or maybe the cries of every living being resonating through her soul. But the universe's consciousness sighed.

And then, beside her, a second giant appeared—the same feminine silhouette, now her equal in size.

Together, they pressed against the collapsing orbs.

Together, they held the universe in place.

"You are right. For your survival—for all of you—as a mother, I will sacrifice everything."

The mechanical voice was no longer cold; it carried warmth, emotion, and sorrow.

Shera laughed softly and nodded.

"Together."

With that, with the combined power of all living beings, they pushed. The cracked orbs began to shift, their broken halves inching closer. Outside, the fractures shrank and slowly disappeared.

Time, the ultimate law was beginning to heal. The erasure of the universe seemed undone.

Cheers erupted, relief flooding everyone's hearts. But then… the change came.

Shera groaned as something ripped away from her body.

"This wasn't the real threat… that is," the universe's consciousness sighed.

And Shera saw it.

A memory. That small, black orb—the one that made her limitless. The one given to her by that being. The being responsible for her universe's destruction.

"It's all over…" Shera whispered. Her eyes lost their luster, and her towering form in that higher dimension shattered.

In the physical realm, she coughed blood and collapsed.

"Shera!" Meka and the others cried, rushing to her side. But as they looked to the skies, joy turned to horror. Cracks spread again, galaxies fading in and out of existence. This time, it was worse. Entire beings began to vanish.

With help, Shera staggered back to her feet and looked into the mirror that broadcasted her image to all.

"I'm sorry…" she whispered, bowing her head.

The truth was shown—the moment she had accepted the orb from Void. Gasps echoed across worlds. The scene in the higher dimension played out for all to see. Shera closed her eyes in shame.

The savior of the universe… was now revealed as the one responsible for its destruction.

She expected hatred, blame. But instead—cheers erupted.

"SHERA! SHERA! SHERA!"

Tears streamed down her face. "But why? Because of me… because of that gift… our universe will be destroyed…"

Meka stepped forward, his voice steady even as his eyes brimmed with tears.

"My love, you did well. We were there that day. We know you only grew this strong because of that gift. Without it, we would've been gone aged ago. Shera, you gave us hope when we had none. You laid down your life for us again and again. To me—you are my hero. To all of us—you are our guardian, our savior."

The others nodded, their eyes shining with conviction.

Shera's heart shattered, her tears flowing freely. She remembered Void's words.

"Nothing is ever free."

Truly, nothing was.

Just as her sorrow peaked, her declining power began to surge once again.

BOOM.

Shera broke through realms rapidly.

"Wait… what's happening?" she gasped, looking around. And then she saw it—everyone was fading.

Planets. Worlds. Her children. Her friends.

"No… don't!" Shera screamed. But it was too late. They were giving up their essence—for her.

Her children smiled at her.

"Goodbye, Mom."

"Love you, Grandma."

"Hehe… good work, Protector."

One by one, they vanished. Their bodies and souls dissolved into pure energy, flooding into Shera. She wept, trying to reject it, but she couldn't stop it. She grew stronger with every disappearance.

Meka was the last before her.

"Shera… I have loved you for a thousand years. And now, I will love you for eternity."

She screamed as he kissed her one final time. His warmth lingered for a breath, then faded as his body collapsed into energy and merged with her.

Planets, animals, galaxies—every being in the universe followed. All of them gave up their existence… for her.

And then—only Shera remained. Shera, and a silhouette.

"You are our last hope. Survive—and carry the hope of everyone with you."

For the first time in existence, the consciousness of a universe sacrificed itself for its creation. She smiled as her form crumbled, merging into Shera and empowering her further.

Now, only Shera stood.

Before her loomed the black orb, no longer small but vast, devouring everything.

Shera clenched her fists, tears streaming down her face.

"I will make you pay…"

The image of Void flickered, then merged with the orb.

BOOOOM.

Space shattered. Realms quaked.

The universe collapsed. Devoured.

This was the final sacrifice.

The end of an era.
