A Witch's Legacy

Chapter 25: Chapter 25

It was a cold winter day on the outskirts of Magan Russia. Seraiya slowly walked in the middle of the snow-covered road. Her clothes were burnt and covered in as much ash as she was.

How long had she been walking? It couldn't have been long with how cold it was yet somehow to Seraiya it had felt like forever.

As she continued to walk headlights suddenly appeared in front of her. She wished to move out of the way but her body was unable as the car came to a slippery stop.

An older man and woman got out of the car and ran to her. "Что с тобой случилось" (What has happened to you) the older gentleman asked. "Где тебе больно" (Where are you hurt?) Asked the older women.

The man and woman looked at each other before looking back at Seraiya. "Do you speak English?" the older woman asked. Seraiya looked up at her, then gave her a slight nod.

"Ok," said the woman. "It is far too cold for you to stay out here quickly come with us," she said as they led Seraiya to the car.

Seraiya just sat in the back seat of the car silent as they began to drive off. She didn't care if anything else happened. She lost everything. Her friends her family. And now she was a murderer too.

Seraiya just sat in the corner of the room they had put her in. She was still covered in ash and still in her burnt clothing. She wouldn't let them near her. She wouldn't let them help her more than they already had.

"She obviously isn't human Boris," the older woman said turning to her husband. "Do you believe she is like Anya?" He asked his wife. "I do" she replied pulling out her phone. "What are you doing?" Boris asked his wife Maria.

"I'm calling Anya," she told him.

It wasn't much longer when a young woman in her late 20s showed up. She had bright blue eyes and blonde hair. 25 years ago Boris and Maria Skillcavitch adopted Anya from England. At the time they didn't know of what Anya was or the existence of supernaturals. But as Anya continued to grow they had no other choice but to learn. And Anya was now a high-ranking member of a local coven.

"Where's the girl?" Anya asked as she entered the house. "In the guest room," Maria told her. "Have you gotten her name?" Anya asked. "She hasn't spoken a word," Boris told her. Anya gave them a nod before slowly entering the room.

Seraiya was still huddled in the corner and Anya sat down on the floor only a few feet away. "Hello," said Anya. "My name is Anya what's yours? Anya asked. Seraiya looked up at her for a moment before looking away. "You know I can't help you if I don't at least know your name," Anya told her. "What's it matter," Seraiya said. "All I do is destroy" she added.

"I don't believe that to be true," Anya told her. "Where are you from?" Anya asked. "You don't speak Russian and you have an American accent so I can only assume from there. But where?" she asked.

"The East Coast" Seraiya replied. That wasn't much of an area. Anya thought to herself. "Will you tell me how you got here?" she asked. Seraiya looked into anyas eyes. Anya was shocked to see the cold almost dead look coming from them.

Rouge wolves attacked my pack and I was brought here to be sold at a supernatural slave auction but as I was about to be sold I burned the place to the ground" she told Anya. "I killed people," she said. "Maybe I really am a monster" she added.

Anya took in a shaky deep breath. "You are not a monster," Anya told her. "The monsters are those who took you," she told her "Who forced you to defend yourself" she said. "The fault of what happened does not lay on you who is still a child but the adults who would dare do this to you" she explained.

"They did this because of what me and my brother are," Seraiya said. "What do you mean?" Anya asked. "We're not wolves," Seraiya said. "And we're not witches either" she added. "Then what are you?" She asked. "We're Tribrids," she told her.

"The only 2 to ever exist" she added. "Your Seraiya Mason?" Anya questioned. Seraiya nodded.

How could Anya not know who she was when Seraiya said what she was? "The whole world knew their names. "You want to kill me don't you?" Seraiya asked. "Even the gods want me dead" she added. "Of course not," Anya told her. "And why would you believe such a thing like that?" She asked. "Because there was only ever meant to be one of us," she told her.

Suddenly seraiya looked around. "I have to go," Seraiya said. "It's the middle of the night in the middle of winter and you're in Russia," Anya said. "You go outside and you'll freeze" she added "I have to get to England," Seraiya told her.

"All of sudden?" She asked. "Like you said I'm in the middle of Russia," Seraiya said. "Plus there's an alpha in England I met at last year's alpha conference," she said. "He can tell me if any of my family survived" she added.

"I'm heading back in a few days anyway," Anya told her. "At least allow me to take you there I can even have my matriarch contact him to alert him of your soon arrival" she added.

"I don't know," Seraiya said. "Me taking you will be the quickest way there," Anya said "and at the very least it will give you time to clean up some and I can get you some clothes to wear for the trip as well" Anya added. "I will trust for now," Seraiya said. "But if you do anything that makes me suspicious of you I can't promise what I will do" Seraiya told her.

"That is all I ask" Anya replied.
