Chapter 13
After the transfer was complete, the creature distanced itself from me and let out a roar.
“Graaaaaaaaaaaawrrrrrr!!”
“Well, well, don’t get so worked up. I’ve just invited you to my own little space, haven’t I?”
The place where the creature and I had arrived was a pocket dimension I had recently created using space & time magic.
Here, the concept of time was ambiguous, and it was completely independent of the time axis in Mea’s world…
“Here, you can fight as long as you want without worrying about your surroundings.”
Or maybe I should say that I could go all out here. Of course, I did want to use magic to its full extent, but more than anything, I couldn’t let this creature that was causing havoc in Mea’s forest die too easily. I was going to make it regret going against Mea.
And since this creature shouldn’t be a boss that appears in the story, I was genuinely grateful that I could eliminate it without hesitation.
“Well then, let’s start with [Chains of Inferno].”
I unleashed an advanced fire magic, [Chains of Inferno], in front of Mea without incantation.
Magic circles appeared around me, and dozens of chains of flames shot out, binding and engulfing the fleeing creature in intense flames. The azure flames enveloped the creature, burning it at a rate equivalent to its regenerative speed.
The burning creature writhed and struggled, trying to escape in agony.
“A..arghhh…aarghhhh!!”
“Hmm… It seems fire is effective after all. My knowledge from light novels doesn’t appear to be entirely wrong.”
Now then… This probably wouldn’t be enough to defeat it, and I couldn’t afford to let it die so easily. So I released the spell. The flames that were burning just moments ago disappear in an instant.
I couldn’t do this a year ago, but now I can even cancel out the highest-level spells midway. With a little focus, I can also erase the opponent’s magic.
The technique to cancel out opponents’ magic—[Magic Nullifier]—apparently had the highest difficulty level. However, thanks to my extraordinary talent and the memories from my previous life, I managed to grasp it after about five months of intense practice.
By the way, even people with talent could take several decades, and even those considered geniuses would need at least a few years. This goes to show just how exceptional my talent is.
“Now then… what should I do next?”
“Aah! Aarghhhhh!!”
As I was contemplating which magic to unleash next, the freed creature lunged at me. Yet, I calmly activated [Physical Magic Barrier] without an incantation to protect myself.
“Whoops, that was close.”
“Aaah! Aaah!”
“You think you could break it this time…? Are you thinking that? Too bad. The previous barrier was just to hold you back, so I intentionally made it weak.”
I said this to the creature, which seemed perplexed by its inability to destroy the barrier. I wasn’t even sure if it could understand words, but as a way to buy time, it wasn’t too bad.
Taking it as a chance to test things out, I continued to unleash various spells.
“[Water Prison], [Tempest], [Thunderbolt].”
The creature was enclosed in a prison of water, then buffeted by the tempest that enveloped the watery prison, and amidst the roaring winds, thunderbolts struck.
But this wasn’t the end.
The crime of desecrating Mea’s homeland was grave.
“Now, let’s keep going—[Aurora Wave], [Coffin of Darkness].”
The storm and thunderbolts vanished as if they were lies. Instead, something akin to a pseudo sun appeared, and from it, an aurora reminiscent of what one might see in a movie transformed into a thick beam, pouring down to obliterate the creature completely.
And as the creature, battered by the beam, seemed to crumble, the ground suddenly became shrouded in darkness. From that darkness emerged hands of shadows that seized the creature and confined it to a black coffin that appeared out of thin air.
The coffin trembled and rattled, but there was no sign of it opening anytime soon.
And for good reason.
This coffin didn’t have a lid that could be opened in the first place.
If it were to be opened, it would require pouring in mana even greater than mine.
However, even though more than half of my mana had been depleted, I still had an abundant reserve. Moreover, it was far greater than the total mana of that creature, so there was absolutely no risk of it breaking.
“Phew… It really feels great to unleash magic with all my might. But… I should wrap this up soon. I’m starting to miss Mea.”
Using up almost all of my remaining mana, I activated a single spell. All the spells I had used until now had been pre-existing ones. However, the one I was about to use was a magic that only someone with my previous life’s knowledge could perform.
The most powerful magic in this world was the [Cosmic Meteor Torrent], which created a meteor shower. Yet, to me, it had appeared remarkably weak. Despite its flashy appearance, its actual power wasn’t as high as one might think.
That’s why I had decided to create a truly powerful magic. Though I had never used it before, it was completed in theory. This creature was the perfect test subject for it.
Ninety percent of my remaining mana surged out from my body.
“[It is an abyss that devours even light. A symbol of destruction that shatters stars shining at the zenith of the sky. Its name is—]”
The emitted mana condensed rapidly.
This magic was inspired by a famous phenomenon from my previous life’s Earth.
It embodied an absolute power that no living being could defy.
“―――[Black Hole]”
The ultimate magic that devours all things was activated. However, it took a little time for the effects to become apparent.
Given that this magic was still imperfect and I was in danger as well, I activated [Voidbound Dimensional Rift] along with it.
With Jin’s disappearance, the magic he had cast began to unravel. Mea vowed to take revenge upon the individual who had escaped without dealing the decisive blow. And just as she attempted to leave the area, she suddenly spotted a black hole at the center of the space.
Zzzrrrrrrr…
In that instant, everything, including that very entity, was engulfed by the void. The entirety of this space was devoured.
