- And now where is she?

The three men looked at her and Cameron spoke again.

- Still in Sicily why?

Cameron, before leaving made her promise not to continue her work as a prostitute.

- It doesn't change the fact that she is still a hitman. My god, what kind of man would want a woman who spends her time killing innocent people.

Cameron stared at her, surprised to know that that was all she was interested in. He had just told her that his sister was a hitman and all she cared about was whether her sister could get married one day before such a life. That was part of Violet's charms. Cameron stood up and turned his back on them to head towards the kitchen. He poured himself a glass of whiskey and remained silent for a long time before speaking again.

Violet stared at him for a long time before taking her phone from her pocket.

- Can I know what you're doing?

Cameron was surprised to have heard him pick up but refrained from making any comments. She needed to get this straight and he understood that better than anyone. He slipped away into the living room with his brothers.

- That's not Cameron's voice so I guess he didn't keep his promise and told you everything...Violet.

- Yes it's true. I know I haven't become the sister you dreamed of and that's fine with me. Because at least I earn my living.

- How could you do this to me? If you want me to forget you, start by deleting Cameron's number from your phone and not communicating with him anymore. And I will leave you alone like you asked me so well.

- You are no longer together. So it is up to him to decide it I think.

She hung up and put the phone on the counter before bursting into tears.

With cameras everywhere, Cameron had been able to follow a large part of the discussion. When he reappeared in the kitchen, he leaned against the doorframe, staying behind her, wanting to let her express her grief.

- It's my own fault if I'm in this state. You warned her that she wouldn't be the same again. And me, like an idiot, I didn't listen to you. That'll teach me to worry about her.

- Where are your brothers?

- They came home, they preferred to leave us alone. I partly asked them.

She turned completely to face him and gave him back his phone while avoiding touching his fingers. He moved closer to her and stared at her so as to guess her feelings. Even in tears, she was exceptionally beautiful. He suddenly wanted to kiss her.

She walked past him but he stopped her in her tracks by looking at her sideways. His gaze expressed annoyance and at the same time desire.

I love you Violet and I will continue to love you until I die whether you like it or not. So you can always tryyer to resist me, to push me away as many times as you want but never forget one thing; I will never let you go again and you know that I am not joking. You know it as well as I do. I don't care about your sister's opinion, it is you and it has always been you that I wanted. I know that I have had conquests but they are in no way comparable to you.

- And you still think you have a chance of finding me in your life after all this time?

- I am certain of it.

He brought his face closer to hers.

- And if you doubt it, it is because you do not know me that well yet.
