A unique love

Chapter 2: Chapter 2

Arriving at his private home, Cameron settled into his favorite couch and handed his luggage over to his housekeeper, Maria.

- Welcome back to us. Have a safe trip home, sir.

- Thank you, Maria.

She bowed out.

- I thought your brother would have come to meet you at the airport? Asked his faithful friend James.

- No, he told me he had an important meeting this morning. I imagine she's another one of his conquests.

- Speaking of conquests...

- Don't even mention her name. I left that girl behind a long time ago. She was the worst mistress I've ever had.

He stood up and headed to the counter before seeing the door open abruptly.

- Hello to you too, Trevor, and if the next time you decide to enter my house, you could open this door normally; It will save me from cracking your finger if you hold on to your hand.

- Hello bro and welcome back despite your still so dark humor. So how was it in France?

- The French are boring but their country is interesting.

- And what took you ten years there?

- Trevor, I wouldn't have lasted ten years in France. I did five years for business, two years in Canada to spend time with our parents who also asked that you call them more often to get news of you; and three years in Sicily for business as well.

- Well, you've been busy.

- I'm going to have to leave you, my family is waiting for me at home. James announced as he got up to hug his friend.

- Say hello to her for me, I'm happy to still have you by my side. Thanks James.

- You're welcome, it's completely normal. Come on, I'm going.

After James left, Trevor walked up to his big brother and decided to broach the subject.

- Excuse me for not welcoming you this morning.

- Don't worry, another conquest? You left him on good terms I hope?

Trevor took a deep breath before looking down for a moment before looking back up at his brother. His attitude immediately alerted Cameron who was now looking at him sternly.

- What? What did you do again? Did you fight?

- No, it wasn't a conquest. But someone much more important, at least, to you.

Cam put down his glass while looking at him seriously.

- Tell me everything.

- Before you came, I went to see Violet to tell her you were back here.

Cameron remained impassive but deep down, just hearing that name, he was upset. He hadn't heard it for nine years. Violet Anna Carmen, the love of his life and his first love.

- Hey! I just told you that I saw Violet and you remain motionless without reacting. Don't tell me that you forgot her? I grant you that she has changed a lot but she has remained true to herself especially in terms of character. And I completely understand why you were crazy about her. Even if she is not at all my type, she is a bombshell. As soon as I wanted to talk about you, she became cold and distant as if the mere mention of your name horrified her.

Of course he had not forgotten her. How could he when she was the only woman capable of awakening in him an uncontrollable desire and his heart of stone. As soon as he was in her presence, he could no longer think of anything other than kissing her. He had loved her madly and continued to love her after all these years. But what about her? She probably hated him after all these years of absence without news and without even a message. They had had three years of relationship, three years of passion and love that he had thrown away by going abroad without even telling her for fear of having to continue their long-distance relationship. He was certainly in love but not to the point of inflicting on her a long-distance relationship in which he knew full well that he would not put his all into it just because he did not like long-distance relationships.
