A unique love

Chapter 15: Chapter 15.

The next day, arrived in front of the prison gate, Layla inhaled a good blow before turning to her brother with a look of apprehension.

- I know Layla that you don't like prisons but it's Violet. Your best friend and my ex that I hope to get back. So make an effort.

- I'm going to visit the one who beat my best friend three or four years earlier so you'll excuse me if I'm not so delighted to be here.

- I know. But if it was Violet, you know as well as I do that she could have a panic attack in front of him. And he would take great pleasure from it.

- It's true.

They advanced and greeted the caretaker of the reception. As soon as he recognized Cameron, he opened it to him and leaned slightly.

- It's me or you're popular everywhere. Was it like that in Sicily too?

- Yes. I can't help it if I'm handsome.

They were accompanied to an isolated and very dark cell. It wasn't really a cell we could dream of. The bars were rusty and almost sharp while the interior was dilapidated and the walls dotted with incomprehensible black graffiti. On the only bed in the small room, sat a man, not shaved for apparently two weeks. His eyes were dull and as soon as he saw his visitors, he smiled with his yellow teeth and advanced towards them with a nonchalant air. Layla pinched the tip of her nose so as not to exclaim about the smell that reigned in the room.

- So like that, I have visitors, brand visitors in addition. What is this pleasure worth to me?

- It's not a pleasure imagine you, you big pig. Assaulting my best friend once was not enough for you, did you have to do it a second time?!

Cameron calmed his sister with one hand by pushing her back from the bars.

- I didn't come to listen to your nonsense. I will be quick and precise. Let's get straight to the point.

- I'm listening to you Mr. Quincy.

- What is the purpose behind your last attack?

- Why this question? It's not like you know the victim.

- Just answer my question. I don't have time to waste with you.

- My brother had told me to teach a lesson to the last woman with whom he had an appointment. He showed me a picture.

- Ah because in addition, he has a picture of her? Layla replied, surprised to learn.

- How much?

- From what I saw, at least eight.

Layla came forward, furious, with a question in mind.

- But there is a question I ask myself. I made sure he was put in jail so how could he give you instructions?

- It's simple. He was here before he was transferred. We were in the same cell. So I helped him escape once but since he was lazy, I went in his place. And I was sure to scare him since I had already done it once.

Layla tapped her foot and raised her fist furiously.

- Who is the idiot or rather the fool who had the stupid idea of putting them together? In the same cell in addition?

She went to the nearest guard. He looked ashamed and looked down.

- As they are brothers....

- No, swear! I thought they were cousins. It's not because they're brothers that they had to be together. Sometimes, the family bond can also harm others. Sometimes you have to know how to break the fraternal bond when it is necessary. And there it was! She got carried away under the slightly surprised gaze of her brother.

He suspected that even if Violet was more responsive to danger than she was, she would still not have remained motionless during their exchange. He knew his sister well enough to know that when she reacted like that, it was because the subject really touched her. And in this specific case, she was her best friend for 15 years now. But he, after years of experience, had learned to control his emotions and to silence them during a fight. But here, we must admit that it was difficult to control ourselves.

- I can assure you that he is now in a highly secure prison at your brother's request. Announced the guard as he took him out of his dreams.

- You are lucky that my brother intervened as soon as he learned the case otherwise I swear you would already be fired. Layla threatened him by pointing her index finger at him.

- Are they both supervised? Cameron asked, taking her sister by the shoulders to calm her down and stop her from accidentally hitting the guard.

- Yes. Their bars are electrified and his cell now has a surveillance camera.

- Him alone? Layla asked again, still angry.

- Yes....I don't know about the other as I'm not from the staff of the other prison. And I can't ask as I'm a simple employee here.

- Thank you, I'll take of it. Cameron replied. His tone was so calm that it worried his sister who began to wonder the reason for such silence.

- Anyway, I don't want to get out of here anymore, announced the aggressor as he turned around and sat on his bed. I have nothing left to lose and it's not like I have someone waiting for me outside this prison. Even my own brother doesn't care about me since I missed my last attempt.

Layla gave him an unhealthy look before heading towards the exit. While Cameron greeted the goalkeeper one last time before he too took the exit.

He joined his sister in his car then there was a leaming silence.

- How are you? He asked, breaking the silence.

- Excuse me for talking to you like that but....

She exhaled for a moment before speaking again.

- Do you really think it's okay when I just learned that a psychopath has eight photos of my best friend in his phone? The fact that he is in a secure prison reassures me, of course, but he can very well use these photos for something else such as....

- Yes I know Layla. But you know me well enough to know that I will never let such a horror happen.

He gave her an affectionate look. It was the first time in a long time that he saw his sister so sad for someone.

- You know, I always had the impression that it was only in my life that Violet had taken on great importance but since I came back, I realize that I was very wrong. You love him very much and I was able to see him today.

- Would you happen to doubt my very strong and very sincere friendship for her?

- No, I had no doubt about that. I just thought, for a moment, that you were just friends.

- She's like a big sister to me. And I refuse to see her collapse because of a bastard.

- I know little sister and I promise to make this bastard pay for what he did to him.
