Chapter 103: Chapter 105 - Weakness
"You bastard!" Aria's friend yelled as she entered one of the rooms. She noticed Lin already present there, with Amrita seated beside him, prompting her anger to surge, given that, due to Lin's actions, Aria had developed a high fever.
Without a second thought, she dashed towards them, raising her hand as if she were about to hit Lin, but Avendial, noticing this as an opportunity, moved forward and grabbed her hand.
After analyzing Amrita's personality, Avendial was sure that instead of beating Lin in front of Amrita to elicit sympathy for him, he needed to reveal a side of Lin that would ignite disgust in her.
In a cold tone, he stopped Aria's friend while looking at Amrita and said, "Amrita, I have seen your grades, and I know you are a very good student. Your academic scores are also very high, so I hope instead of bullying those who can score well, you should just focus on your own studies."
'!?'
"P-professor?" Amrita was taken aback, suddenly hearing herself referred to like that by the professor. She didn't understand what he meant.
After all, why would she engage in bullying those who had the potential to score higher marks than her?
Wouldn't it be good if everyone performed well?
"What! I knew it was this bitch!" Aria's friend, whose hand was grabbed by the professor, suddenly felt all her anger shift towards Amrita.
Previously directed at Lin, her anger now recognized that it was Amrita who had manipulated Lin into slapping Aria.
There, while maintaining a cold look, a smile passed through Avendial's eyes as he loosened his grip, letting go of Aria's friend.
And the reaction of it?
Smack
"It was all due to you!" Aria's friend slapped Amrita.
"Amrita!!" Lin, who lay on the bed, suddenly saw everything in slow motion as his mind processed the earlier events, thinking about how he should come up with another excuse if the professor revealed everything.
But the moment he saw Aria's friend slap Amrita in front of him, his whole mind snapped.

All the pain from earlier vanished as his eyes widened. His fists clenched as he tried to stand from the bed.
The burning anger inside him swirled even more as he dashed from the bed to confront Aria's friend, who dared to slap Amrita.
'Huh?' Amrita stood looking blankly towards the events happening around her, with a sharp intense heat accompanied by the pain that started to shroud her left cheek while her eyes observed the glare from Aria's friend as she had just slapped Amrita.
Everything seemed to slow down as if the world had halted.
Her hand instinctively lifted to hold her cheek, which was in intense, sharp pain. But at that moment, in her line of sight, she saw Lin standing from the bed.
And in that moment, a sudden spark ignited in her mind, realizing that it was all due to him.
Her mind raced, seeing Aria's state, which seemed completely weak, added to the professor hitting Lin. Everything started to make more sense as her mind realized all the fault belonged to Lin.
He must have once again overreacted and caused another problem for her. This included how yesterday he had done the same in class, which caused her hand to reflexively grab Lin's before he could once again act stupidly and slap Aria's friend.
"Stop it!" Amrita yelled, grabbing Lin's hand, causing him to halt, with eyes widening as he was surprised to hear Amrita's tone directed at him, causing him to turn in her direction.
"Amrita?" His voice stammered the moment he saw tears forming in Amrita's eyes, with her glaring at him intentionally with anger. It was the first time Lin had seen her looking at him so disappointed.
Even yesterday, it was just her not talking to him, but today it seemed she held hatred for him.
"You have already done enough!" Amrita yelled again, a single drop of tear sliding down past her eyes, which wasn't unnoticed by Avendial as an unnoticeable smirk appeared on his face, seeing that teardrop, which was evidence of the messed-up relationship that Lin and Amrita were going to fall into.
"What are you talking about, Amrita?" Lin kept looking towards her face, which soon shattered his heart in an instant.
The moment tears rushed out of her eyes, he visibly noticed a red fingerprint mark near her left cheek, while tears rolled out of her eyes, which always seemed enthusiastic and curious about her future. Now crying.
"Sob...why, why, you idiot, why did you do it!" She welled with pain as she let go of Lin's hand, clasping her face with both hands as she fell back on the table, hunched over, trying to control the pain she was feeling.
It was too messed up for her.
She just wanted to study, provide support for her brother, and get a good job.
She didn't want to become someone's target of hatred.
It was Lin who approached her, always acting naively around her.
She never wanted his attention, nor anyone's.
She just wanted to study and get a good job.
From the start, she had become the target of anger from Aria's side just because of Lin's actions.
Lin, who never once, even after being told by Amrita to console Aria, listened to her.
This only made the situation even more messed up.
Misunderstandings kept piling up, destroying everything.
And when she thought it was limited to Aria and Lin, even now she was getting entangled in these misunderstandings.
Being a good academic student, she never expected a professor to even blame her for things she hadn't committed.
"Amrita? I-I am sorry," Lin flinched the moment he felt that it was all due to him that Amrita was crying, prompting him to stretch his trembling hand towards her, but it was halted by a sudden grab, tight enough to make him halt with his head slowly turning while his pink eyes landed on the bluish ones.
Naturally, at that moment, he felt as if he were looking at an endless ocean, clearly like a wave trying to devour him.
His instincts seemed to warn him for some reason, but before Lin could understand, Avendial, clenching his hand in a cold and firm tone, said, "Amrita, tell me, be honest, was Lin alone the one who took actions on his own accord or did you force him?"
Here, clearly, Avendial wanted to see things through with the clear intent of utilizing the situation to his advantage, his eyes glaring intentionally towards Lin with a clear amusement hidden behind, knowing well that in this life instead of simply killing Lin, using him to his advantage would be much more beneficial due to him acting so idiotically and not even reading the room.
"What?" Lin felt his eyes widen. Given, somehow, he found this whole situation not in his favor. It was as if he was cornered into something he still didn't know.
The major reason for his surprise was a smirk he had noticed on Professor Avendial's face just now, though he was not sure.
"It was Lin's own actions, Professor," Amrita, with her head down, revealed, not wanting to risk her academic life due to Lin's actions.
Given her future was not only about her, but even her younger brother would starve to death if she got herself thrown out of the academy, where she was surviving somehow on scholarships and doing part-time jobs.
'!?'
"A-Amrita? What are you saying?" Lin felt his mind fall into a trance as he heard those words from Amrita, which he had never expected.
He didn't care about her blaming him, given that it was his own fault. But the issue was the way she said those words was completely blank, without any hesitation, as if she were disappointed and angered at him at the same time.
He felt his heart skip a beat, causing him to look at her with trembling eyes as he clenched his jaws in emotional pain.
'A simp...', Avendial couldn't help but judge Lin in a single instance, where his actions solely belonged to idiots in his perspective.
Feeling disheartened and shocked by a woman who, at a critical moment, turned her back on you definitely signified how weak-hearted this man was.
And definitely, in Lin's case, Avendial appreciated it, since it would be much easier to use him in the future.
'Congrats Lin, you have just gotten yourself a chance to live a long life.'
