Chapter 8: Chapter 8: Training Regimen
Julius opened his eyes and looked at his hand. In his hand was a small, golden-colored light floating above it.
He could feel energy coming from it, and he used his essence to move it around.
'The light element. Although not one of the stronger ones, it is still a divine element,' he nodded.
When the world still didn't have the darkness curse on it, the users of light elements were some of the most powerful, drawing power from celestial bodies like the sun and various stars.
'Hm... I should plan my growth with this element. If I had awakened darkness like the main character, it wouldn't be hard to grow at all,' Julius couldn't help but smile.
Surely, it would be tough to grow as he would need his own information and other resources.
Julius looked ahead to see two boys in martial outfits talking to each other, their eyes fixed on him.
As they saw him staring back at them, they began to leave the library, scurrying away.
Julius didn't mind them and continued to read his books. Meanwhile, a man standing behind him seemed very surprised at his awakening.
'He doesn't even seem curious or surprised and just went back to studying. What exactly did the queen leave in his room?' the man thought.
It was none other than his personal knight. At this moment, Julius couldn't even sense someone around him.
He was like a ghost, walking out of the library without the prince ever noticing his presence—or it was just part of his power.
...
Julius had to thank his mother after absorbing it, and she was glad that he was happy.
"Prince Julius, the bath is ready," Alexa said to him, and he stood up and closed the grimoire in his hands.
She couldn't help but stare at his hair, which had turned white overnight.
While Julius was in a big circular pool, he couldn't help but think about his plans.
'I still have questions regarding reincarnation, but that'll be for later. The clan that is built around the royal family—the royal clan—has a strict learning system. You have to prove yourself to be worthy of notice from teachers unless the king himself hands his child to a teacher.'
'The clan event is coming up. Since I'm talented now, I'm going to learn how to use a sword,' he smiled.
While he is in this life, it will definitely be great to learn how to fight with a weapon.
In this medieval world of magic and world conquest, where there is no advanced technology, his only path to power is martial arts.
No one would be able to argue with him that swords were the coolest weapons to use. It has its weaknesses, but he has been a fan of swords ever since he found his first fictional novel.
Julius let out a breath as he glanced at himself. He could see a strange marking behind his left palm, and he recognized it as the grimoire he received. Now, he could summon it anytime he liked.
'The plan is simple for now. I need to learn the basics. Since there is a knights' training field, I'll take it up from there, and I might get lucky finding a teacher,' he thought to himself and submerged himself in the water.
After taking a long bath, Julius walked out and got into decent clothes.
Not his usual royal outfit, but a tight black leather jacket and brown pants. He went downstairs, walking past the maids and guards, and most of them were stunned by his appearance, especially his white hair.
"Is... that the fifth prince?"
"It looks like him. But the prince is looking more handsome than usual."
"I think so. The aura around him has changed as well."
Julius shrugged off all of the compliments thrown at him.
'I can't help but wonder what sort of magical reaction could cause my hair to change color,' he sighed as he thought about it.
After coming out of the main castle, a man sitting at a table glanced at him.
The man had short, wavy ash hair, and his long mustache went below his chin.
"Isn't that the fifth prince?" he couldn't help but mumble as he saw Julius.
'Could it be that... he is the one that Margaret used the stone for?' The man's face contorted in disgust, and he stood up from the table.
"Tsk... How useless."
...
Julius had to go around the castle before he was met with a very big field with a lot of people there.
The triplet step-siblings had their own private tutors, and his twin sister got even better training.
'Sasha is allowed to go into the royal family's secret location at just the age of 14. I have to show enough talent to be sponsored to go to Midgard Academy with her. Only then would I be able to do real damage to the plot,' he thought as he walked forward into the training field.
A man standing with a sword, helping him stand straight, noticed the prince and walked toward him.
"Fifth prince?" The man immediately noticed him.
It's a custom for all the knights of the royal family to be accustomed to the members of the main household.
"Yes, it's me."
The coach was taken aback by Julius' response, and he frowned in confusion.
"Ah, I couldn't recognize you because of the hair. Did something happen?" he asked, and Julius shook his head.
"If you're asking about the hair, I awakened my essence yesterday, so that's probably what caused it. And if you're asking why I'm here...
...I have to grow stronger. That clan event is coming soon," he said to the man. The man clasped his hands together and looked at the field.
He was taken aback a bit, but this confirmed a few things he'd been hearing here and there.
'So the queen really bought the Stone of Rebirth at 50,000 platinum just for this useless kid?' he couldn't help but think.
"Everyone! Gather around!" the man shouted, and all the knights began to turn around one by one and came toward him.
"The fifth prince has undergone an awakening and is going to train with us from today. Be nice," the man said to all of them, and they all began to mumble as they looked at Julius.
"Ohhh, he awakened after 12 years old?"
"That's very odd."
"Is he the one that got the legendary stone?"
"Now that you mention it, the queen did buy it from an auction."
The coach, too, couldn't help but glance at Julius, a lot of thoughts roaming his mind. He could also feel envy in his heart, but he shut it out, as they're all loyal to the king.
Julius smiled as he went forward to a box of wooden weapons and picked out a wooden sword from the bunch.
