Chapter 5: ~ Hecate, Haedes, Planning and Family ~
~ Void, Edge of ASOIAF Universe ~
~ Hecate, Goddess of Magic - POV ~
I took one last glance at the new home universe of The Goddesses' newest mercenary, one who I think will go far, especially with all that infinite potential. That is the reason I exchanged a small part of my knowledge with him for free. I look forward to seeing just how far he takes those few spells I gave him. It looks like the future is going to be fun.
Now then, I really shouldn't keep The Goddess waiting. She'll want a verbal report on Drake; or now Draegon, as soon as possible, even though she could just glance in his general direction and know everything. Anyway, you don't keep a being that has been around before my home universe was even a thing and powerful enough to create and destroy multiversal clusters with a wave of her hand. I wonder if she found out who or whatever made it possible for Draegons' soul to endure and/or even reach the void, without any of the millions upon millions of pantheon's out there noticing something.
"Until next time, my young immortal student. He better not let all my future teachings go to waste now that he has my interest. If he ever goes to that dungeon universe with those gods that descend from their version of heaven, I think I'll ask the Goddess if I can take the place of their version of myself, I have some vacation time saved up to use. Hmm, I think I'm starting to get attached to him... Oh well, I've cared for all my students in one way or another. I guess I just feel like I am going to enjoy teaching this one, especially." I mused to myself as I turned to return to give my report to the boss.
~ Winterfell, Godswoods, sometime later ~
~ Draegon Targaryen Stark - POV ~
Well, that was something, Hecate was a unique messenger for the Goddess to choose to send me. Not that I'm complaining, really. Plus, she told me about some great perks of the job; the protection of the Goddess, not Hecate but the one who gave me my new life who is beyond powerful as I thought. Also, the many unique types of knowledge from across the omniverse that I can attain, for a price of course, and that is on top of my already powerful wishes and immortal lifespan. Plus, Hecate has agreed to teach me more of her magic, for a favor to be named later, of course, and nothing too crazy she assured me. Something I was looking forward to, as she said that she could only teach me to manipulate the shadows and how to make constructs out of any shadows for now, she even gave me a small book explaining the shadow element. She also told me that she would bring me some more magical reading material on the darkness element and other attributed magic, which my new vampiric bloodline is naturally more attuned to, for now.
She also told me about my first assignment in the Harry Potter universe, which the Goddess, of course, knew I wanted to visit as soon as possible, which she said should be before I turn eleven name days old. And that I shouldn't worry about the travel, that she would be taking me herself, that she would return at that time to send me off on my first jump through the omniverse. Also, she told me about the Gods of this, my new home universe, and how they see me. Seeing as I was a soul from outside this universe, a technical invader to Planetos, I thought they would be hostile, but with the protection of The Goddess, it seems it really doesn't matter, I was already powerful enough not to worry about them. "It should be the other way, poor puny gods." she said at the end.
As soon as she left; by sinking into her own shadow, which was visually badass, on her way back to report to the Goddess, the world seemed to be return to normal, unfrozen from that moment in time. As if someone pressed the play button after pausing it so I could finish talking to Hecate. I stood there processing all that had occurred, or more like Raphael processed it in a second. After taking a deep breath, which I didn't need, I calmed my excitement and started planning for the next three years with Raphael. There are a few things I want to collect before I leave for the Harry Potter universe.
The magic of this world, while not as refined as anything I will learn from Hogwarts or Gluttonizing an older and wiser wizard, is still diverse and powerful. The priests and the priestesses of Rh'llor alone and with their god's blessing can resurrect someone. Like how Thoros of Myr was able to resurrect Baric Dondarrion in the show. Or when Melisandre of Asshai, birthed a shadow assassin with Stannis' face to kill Renly. And then there are the other forms that the show was unable to show, for budget reasons and whatnot.
Then there is all the lost knowledge and treasures of Valyria. The reason I asked to be reborn years before the Doom of Valyria, obviously I'm not going to let all that, not yet lost, knowledge and wealth just go to waste. Especially all that Valyrian steel. From the weapons, swords, spears, and other bladed weapons to armor and jewelry, all made of Valyrian steel. Then there's all those dragon eggs, such a waste, which I plan to rectify soon enough.
At that moment, I hear two familiar distinct roars of dragons, bringing a smile to my face. I looked up and with my vampiric vision, I spotted two dragons headed straight for a clearing of the godswoods that my paternal grandfather had cleared for my mothers' dragon, Saeraxes, and my bond, Haedes. Haedes hatched within my crib as soon as I placed my, then, baby hand on his black with purple swirls egg. How I was able to give a Greek god's name, when I had no memory of my past life, let alone the Greek god's, I have no idea. But I'm not going to change it, plus no that I know my handler is also from the Greek pantheon, I'll just call it fate. Or the Goddess having some fun.
As I wonder about the nice coincidences of my new life. I start walking to the clearing to greet my mother and to see Haedes before I start my training with my father.
When I reached the clearing my mother, Daenora Targaryen, was already dismounted from Saeraxes and was giving the she-dragon scratches under her massive jaws. And as soon as I stepped into the clearing I was covered by the shadow of Haedes as he flew to me as soon as he spotted me. He missed me during this morning's flight, I can already feel that from our bond. So when he landed I was already rubbing the spot on his snout that he just loves.
I only stopped when I felt he had forgiven me for missing our morning. But I reassure him anyway in High Valyrian. "Ýdra daor haedes, īlon'll jikagon syt nykeā flight tolī tubī. Sepār ao se issa. Ýdra daor ivestragon aōha muñnykeā, Saeraxes, ziry sȳrī sepār ivestragī ñuhon gīmigon se īlon'll sagon va se syt se hembar." (Don't worry Haedes, we'll go for a flight later today. Just you and me. Don't tell your mother, Saeraxes, she will just let mine know and we'll be stuck on the ground for the next week.)
"Nyke ryptan bona. Ao emagon issare naejot ēdrugī naejot sōvegon bisa tubis lo ao ēdan ēdrutan mōrī bantis." (I heard that. You would've been able to fly this morning if you had slept last night.) I hear behind me from my mother with a chuckle in her voice as she approaches Haedes and I. Nyke istan sepār naejot rhaenagon issa bodmagho rūsīr kepa, ao gīmigon bona. Ziry wasn't va purpose muñnykeā. "Nyke kivio ao ziry'll sagon nykeā adere sovègon se haedes jāhor sagon grumpy tolī lo nyke ȳdra daor sōvegon rūsīr zirȳla." (I was just excited to start my martial training with father, you know that. It wasn't on purpose mother. I promise you it'll be a quick flight and Haedes will be grumpy later if I don't fly with him.)
"Hen rhinka issa zaldrīzes-zokla, sir jikagon, aōha kepa jāhor sagon isse se bodmagho yard tolī nykeā moment. Jikagon prepare syt aōha lessons." (Of course my Dragon-wolf, now go, your father will be in the training yard after a moment. Go prepare for your lessons.) She said as she gave me a strong motherly hug as I turned from Haedes, while kissing my forehead she pushed me toward the way out of the godswoods. She didn't have to tell me twice, I was already running, at a normal human child speed towards the castle's training yard.
On the way there I run into many guards and servants, who stop what they are doing to bow and wish me a good morning. As I reach Winterfell's training yard, I spot the whole Stark family on the balcony above the yard, even my grandsire, who is usually busy, as the King of the North, and my father, who is standing in the center of the training yard awaiting me. My father spots me and....
