The girls' hug was so strong that I was even starting to hurt at the waist (which is where their height allowed them to arrive), so I had to politely ask them to hug me a little looser.

Seeing that they were pulling the corner of my shirt, I could understand that they were jealous, so I turned and got at their level, to see them face to face, their masks were very ugly, but I'm sure that behind that mask, behind that ugly skin, hides an unparalleled beauty and I'm sure they're both stunning beauties that are hidden under a disgusting layer of scaly skin.

"Girls, I want you to listen to me carefully because I'm going to tell you something very important" – I said staring at them.

The twins stood completely still, staring at Jacob to see what he was going to say.

"I want you to know that, although I can't kiss you now like I did with Claire, in the future I would can, in the future I will find a way not only to kiss you, but also to help you get your true faces back, right now I can't explain how I'm going to do it, but believe in me, one day, your faces will return to the way they were before you awakened that peculiarity. Believe in me, I will make it" – I said convinced.

The twins remained static in place, like statues that couldn't move. Was Jacob really going to find a way to bring them back to their original faces? Is that what they had dreamed of all these years; since they awakened their peculiarity. It should be said that they were not born that way, but were born normal, like any other child, but their peculiarity began to manifest itself when they were 10 years old, at first, they simply grew scales that could be easily removed, but as time went by, they became like that, causing chaos in the place where they lived, a sad story, very sad, at least until Miss Peregrine saved them and took them to the orphanage, there, they lived happily and without worries.

The twins thought about it for a moment and decided to believe Jacob's words, they didn't know how Jacob could accomplish something so complicated, something they have tried for years, but now they were his girlfriends and as his girlfriends, they must believe in him.

"I promise you and I always keep my promises" – I said.

Then, I brought my lips close to their masks and kissed them both.

"This is the only thing I can do for now, I hope that for the moment you will be satisfied with this" – I said with a smile.

No one could see their expressions, but underneath those masks, they had blushed, because Jacob had kissed them, yes, it had been over their masks, but... He had kissed them!

"Girls, i would really like to continue spending time with you, but I have to go" – I said.

I didn't want to ruin the atmosphere, but I have to come back for today.

"What? Can't you stay a little longer?" – Claire asked dissatisfied.

Now that they were his girlfriends, they wanted to spend time with Jacob. It was normal, right?

"I promise you that tomorrow I will spend more time with you, but my father is a little unwell and I have to go help him" – I explained.
