It was late at night, and the Hufflepuff dormitory was quiet save for the soft snores of Kouchi's roommates. The warm, earthy scent of the common room lingered in the air, but Kouchi felt restless. He couldn't shake the feeling that the castle was hiding more secrets than anyone let on.

Carefully, he slipped out of bed, making sure not to disturb his sleeping companions. Happy, his ever-curious feline companion, followed him silently, his golden eyes glinting in the dim light.

"I'll be back soon," Kouchi whispered, giving Happy a reassuring pat on the head. He left the cat nestled comfortably on the bed, then moved toward the door.

The castle was eerily quiet at this hour. Kouchi's footsteps made barely a whisper against the cold stone floor, his shinobi training ensuring his movements were silent and precise. The moonlight streaming through the tall windows cast long, shifting shadows that seemed alive.

As he wandered the corridors, Kouchi focused on his surroundings, noting every sound and shift in the air. He wasn't just exploring for the sake of curiosity; he was mapping the castle in his mind, preparing for any situation that might require quick action.

His musings were interrupted by a low, distant growl. Kouchi froze, his senses sharpening. The sound wasn't close, but it was distinct—deep, guttural, and accompanied by the faint scrape of claws against stone.

Kouchi turned toward the source, his curiosity piqued. The growl was soon joined by faint barking, echoing through the halls. The energy in the air shifted, tinged with something unnatural and foreboding.

Following the sounds, Kouchi moved deeper into the castle. He passed by several paintings, their occupants murmuring disapprovingly as they watched him. One particularly nosy knight in armor leaned out of his frame and called after him, "Up to no good at this hour, are we?"

Kouchi ignored the remark, his focus on the strange energy ahead. It was unlike anything he had felt before—pulsating and heavy, as though the very air was alive.

The barking grew louder, and Kouchi's steps slowed. Ahead, he saw a large, heavy wooden door, slightly ajar. The growling emanated from within, deep and resonant, reverberating through the stone walls.

Kouchi crept closer, pressing himself against the wall. Peeking through the gap, he saw it—a massive three-headed dog.

The creature was unlike anything Kouchi had encountered before. Each head was enormous, its eyes glowing faintly in the darkness. The middle head yawned, revealing rows of sharp teeth, while the other two remained vigilant, ears twitching at every sound.

Kouchi's Sharingan activated instinctively, allowing him to analyze the creature more closely. He noticed the way its movements synchronized, the way its heads communicated silently with each other. This wasn't just a guard dog—it was an intelligent, magical beast, and it was clearly guarding something important.

His gaze shifted downward, and he noticed a trapdoor beneath the beast's massive paws. Whatever lay below, it was well-hidden and heavily protected.

The dog growled, one of its heads sniffing the air. Kouchi tensed, pressing himself further into the shadows. He hadn't made a sound, but the creature's keen senses were impressive.

"Calm down," Kouchi murmured to himself, forcing his breathing to steady. He was confident in his abilities, but this wasn't the time for a confrontation. The dog was too large and too unpredictable, and he didn't want to risk drawing attention to himself.

Kouchi's curiosity burned like a fire. What was the dog guarding? Why was it here, hidden in the depths of the castle? The energy surrounding the area felt ancient and powerful, unlike anything he had encountered in the shinobi world.

His instincts screamed at him to investigate further, to slip past the dog and uncover the truth. But another part of him—the cautious, strategic side—urged restraint. He had no idea what kind of magic was at play here, and rushing in without information could be disastrous.

For now, he decided, it was better to observe and gather more intel. He made a mental note of the location, marking it in his internal map of the castle.

Carefully, Kouchi began to back away, keeping his movements slow and deliberate. The dog's growling softened as he retreated, its attention shifting back to its vigil over the trapdoor.

Once he was far enough away, Kouchi turned and slipped back into the shadows of the corridor. He didn't relax until he was several turns away, the strange energy fading into the background.

As he made his way back to the Hufflepuff dormitory, his mind raced with possibilities. What kind of magic required a three-headed dog as a guardian? And why was it hidden here, away from the prying eyes of students and staff?

Kouchi's shinobi instincts told him that whatever lay beneath the trapdoor was dangerous. But it was also important—important enough to warrant such an elaborate defense.

When he finally returned to his dormitory, the warmth of the room felt almost surreal. Happy looked up from the bed, stretching lazily as Kouchi sat down beside him.

"Something strange is going on here," Kouchi murmured, scratching Happy behind the ears. "But I'll figure it out."

He leaned back, staring at the ceiling. The encounter with the dog had left him with more questions than answers, but one thing was clear: the secrets of Hogwarts ran deeper than he had imagined.

Kouchi closed his eyes, letting his body relax. He would need to approach this carefully, gathering information piece by piece. And when the time was right, he would return to the trapdoor.

For now, though, he would wait.

The next night, Kouchi sat on the edge of his bed, his fingers resting lightly on his knees. The Hufflepuff dormitory was silent, save for the occasional rustle of blankets as his roommates shifted in their sleep.

Happy, perched on the headboard, watched him with curious golden eyes. Kouchi glanced up at his feline companion and gave a small nod. "I'll be fine," he whispered.

He had spent the entire day preparing for this. The encounter with the three-headed dog the previous night had left him with a lingering sense of unease. Whatever the creature was guarding, it was important enough to warrant both secrecy and formidable protection. Tonight, he would find out what it was.

Moving silently, Kouchi slipped out of the dormitory and into the corridors of Hogwarts. His training ensured that his movements were imperceptible, blending seamlessly with the shadows.

He retraced his steps from the night before, his internal map of the castle guiding him back to the room where the three-headed dog waited. As he approached, the air grew heavy with the same strange energy he had felt before.

Kouchi paused outside the door, his Sharingan activating. The crimson glow illuminated the darkness, his enhanced vision piercing through the wooden barrier. He could see the dog inside, its massive heads alert and scanning the room.

He closed his eyes briefly, centering himself. "This time," he murmured, "I'm ready."

Sliding the door open just enough to enter, Kouchi stepped into the room. The dog growled immediately, all three heads turning toward him. Its sharp eyes glinted, and its muscles tensed as if ready to lunge.

Kouchi didn't flinch. Instead, he began weaving hand signs, his chakra flowing steadily. His Sharingan locked onto the creature's middle head, and he channeled his energy into a powerful genjutsu.

The illusion took shape in the dog's mind, manifesting as a tranquil, empty meadow. The growling stopped abruptly as the dog's heads tilted in confusion.

For a moment, the dog resisted, its body trembling as it fought to break free of the illusion. But Kouchi's focus didn't waver. He poured more chakra into the genjutsu, strengthening its hold until the dog relaxed, its heads lowering one by one.

"I'm sorry," Kouchi whispered, stepping past the massive creature. "But I need to see what's down there."

The trapdoor was exactly where he had seen it the night before, hidden beneath the dog's enormous paws. With the creature subdued, Kouchi moved swiftly, lifting the wooden panel to reveal a dark chute leading down into the unknown.

He didn't hesitate. Channeling chakra into his feet, he leapt down, his body moving with the practiced grace of a shinobi. The darkness enveloped him, but his Sharingan allowed him to see every detail of the narrow tunnel.

As he descended, the air grew damp and cold. He could see the faint glimmer of something below—an ominous, writhing mass that seemed alive.

Kouchi landed lightly on the ground, his chakra cushioning the impact. He looked around, his Sharingan analyzing the area. Tendrils of dark green vines writhed around him, reaching out as if sensing his presence.

"Devil's Snare," he muttered, recognizing the plant from his herbology lessons. Its movements became more aggressive the longer he stood still, the vines curling toward him with unnatural speed.

Without missing a beat, Kouchi channeled chakra into his hands, creating a faint blue glow. The energy radiated warmth, causing the Devil's Snare to recoil. He stepped forward cautiously, keeping the chakra flowing to ward off the encroaching vines.

Once he was clear of the plant's reach, he exhaled slowly, letting the chakra dissipate. "Not bad," he murmured, glancing back at the writhing mass. "But I've dealt with worse."

The path ahead was dark and silent, the walls damp with condensation. Kouchi moved cautiously, his senses alert for any signs of danger. The energy in the air was different now—less oppressive, but no less strange.

He passed through a narrow corridor that opened into a larger chamber. The room was empty, save for a set of ornate pillars lining the walls. The architecture was ancient, the stonework etched with unfamiliar runes.

Kouchi studied the runes carefully, his Sharingan memorizing the patterns. They didn't match any magical script he had encountered in his studies so far.

As he moved further into the chamber, he felt a faint pulse beneath his feet. It was rhythmic, like the beating of a heart, and it seemed to emanate from below.

Kouchi knelt, pressing his palm against the cold stone floor. His chakra spread out like a web, probing the area for hidden mechanisms or traps.

"There's something here," he muttered, his eyes narrowing. His chakra detected a faint energy source directly beneath him, but it was buried deep, protected by layers of stone and enchantments.

For now, it was out of reach.

Kouchi stood, his mind racing. Whatever was down here was powerful—powerful enough to warrant the magical defenses he had encountered so far. But the deeper he went, the more questions he had.

Why was this being guarded so carefully? And why did it feel so… familiar?

Reluctantly, Kouchi decided to turn back. He had gathered enough information for one night, and he didn't want to push his luck. The three-headed dog would only remain under the genjutsu for so long, and he had no desire to face it in open combat.

As he retraced his steps, he remained vigilant, his Sharingan scanning for any signs of movement. The Devil's Snare writhed restlessly as he passed, but it didn't attempt to attack.

When he reached the chute, Kouchi channeled chakra into his feet and leapt upward, his body moving with ease as he ascended the narrow tunnel.

The three-headed dog was still under the genjutsu when he emerged, its heads swaying gently as if dreaming. Kouchi closed the trapdoor carefully, making sure to leave no trace of his presence.

Before leaving, he released the genjutsu with a subtle wave of his hand. The dog blinked groggily, its heads shaking as it regained awareness. It growled softly but didn't seem to notice him as he slipped out of the room.

By the time Kouchi returned to his dormitory, the first light of dawn was beginning to creep through the windows. He climbed into bed silently, his mind buzzing with everything he had seen.

Happy curled up beside him, purring softly. Kouchi stroked the cat's fur absentmindedly, his thoughts already planning his next move.

Whatever lay beneath the trapdoor was a mystery he was determined to solve. But for now, he would wait, biding his time until he was ready to venture deeper into the castle's secrets.
