NOVEL NEXT Chapter 9: Parent's Arrival
As Brianna watched him steadily, she recognized him and pulled herself out of his warm embrace. She shot a cold glance at him and turned around walking away. He held her hands when she was taking a turn and pull her back Infront of him. Trying to start a conversation without recognizing her, he asks
''Shouldn't you thank me for helping you, you would have fallen if I didn't hold you'' he said gallantly folding his arms
''But you jerked on me, besides I thought you were taking a turn'' she replies
''Anyway, what's your name''
''Seems like you don't recognize me, I am Brianna''
''What! It can't be, you look so beautiful than the first time I saw you. Ohh I see…. You have too much make up on your face''
'' What's really your problem''
''My problem is y…..''
''Don't you dare spill it out'' she says as she points finger at him
''What did you think I was going to say, that I like you. You're such a sassy' 'he teases
''You're so annoying'' she leaves feeling disgraced
''Don't forget to bring another order for me because you drop ''he shouts to hearing
His secretary Donald was busily scouting for him to inform him of his parent's arrival. He calls out his name from behind
''Mr. Leon Mr. Leon''
He turns back to see his secretary stooped with his head bowed gasping for breath he uses his hand to push some air into his mouth
He goes closer to him and asks
''what's the matter with you?''
''Where have you been?''
''I just came here to get refreshened with carbonated drinks and pastries before I go home''
''What about you?''
''I just came from the office, your parents arrived yesterday. They are requesting to have dinner with you tonight''
''It's already 5:00pm. Get the car; it's at the parking lot. I'll meet you at the entrance''
''Okay sir''
''Umm don't forget to cancel the order''
Donald goes to the counter, cancels the order and drifts to the parking lot and moves the car to the entrance of the club. He opens the door, and Mr. Leon enters in.
They drove on high acceleration and in no time, they had reached their destination
PARENT'S ABODE
His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor, were already seated at the table when he entered. One could tell by his dad's face he wasn't happy with the time he arrived. He greets as he walks towards the table
''Hello, mum and dad''
''My son, how are you'' she gets up and embraces him
''Mum, I miss you so much''
''You've grown so tall and handsome; hope you have a girlfriend''
''No mum, not yet' 'he drags one chair and sits down
''Why not, I can look for one for you''
''No mum, I will find one'' he assured
''hello dad, how was the trip''
''Why did you come late'' he scolded
''I had a little problem, that's why'' he persuaded
His dad watched him as if he was convinced
'' let's dig in'' he said
It's already 8:00, Brianna changes into her casuals and heads out to board a bus. On her way she gets a call from her mom
''hello mum''
''Hello, will you be coming to the hospital''
''No, I am bit dizzy and sleepy so I will come tomorrow''
''Okay, don't forget to bring the money and some cloths for me''
''Take care of yourself, goodnight''
''Goodnight, sleep well. Bye''
Suddenly there a loud ring which wakes Brianna up
''It's the alarm, oh gosh it's already 8:00'' she turns it off and goes back to sleep
The shaking of the curtains paved a way for the rays of the sun to shine so brightly on her eyes that she had no choice than to get up from her sleep.
She goes to the bathroom and gets out feeling fresh and sweet after having a splendid bath. She gets herself dressed up and swiftly dashes into her mom's room and picks up some causals and outgoing clothes and makes her way to the entrance of the main door to buy coffee and donuts for breakfast.
AT THE HOSPITAL
''Hello mum, I brought some food''
''oh, I am starving. What kept you late''
She ravenously gulps the coffee into her mouth
''I woke up a bit late, that's why''
''Oh, okay''
''Here are your clothes''
''Thanks'
I am going to the doctor's office to pay the bills and treatment
