Chapter 33. Kaleen the Valkyrie.
The night flew by like the wind as we are now slowly walking down towards the guild dressed in different clothing; Flora wore a floral white dress with a straw hat, Mana wore her mage outfit while I am currently dressed in the newly given outfit which could be described with one word, flashy.
I don’t mean to hate on the outfit, but it really is flashy though to compensate, the outfit was super light and all my daggers fitted in a single pocket which was super convenient. Not to mention, I feel a bit more agile and powerful right now, maybe I could punch a boar on its face today.
“Mwama, are we going to fight boars again?” Flora asked as we walked down the street.
“Maybe, do you really want to fight boars today?” Mana questioned Flora as she nodded.
“Boars tastes delicious! I want to eat!” she said with a gluttonous face that I never get bored of. It was the usual glutton Flora; she is one lover of roasted pig apparently since she likes the crispiness and juiciness of it.
“Okay! We’ll get one boar later but first, we need to find a quest soon, don’t run around as always, okay?” I said to Flora as she looked at me and nodded before we continued on walking.
After a short while of walking, the three of us now stood before a giant cement structure that was like an old military base; two large wooden doors stood at the center of the front wall, wide open as people entered and left from the door.
Above the door was a sign that said “Adventurer’s Guild” with twin swords in an X formation and a spear piercing from between them. It was the symbol of protection according to this world’s tradition; the Adventurer’s Guild has the protection symbol because most of the time, it is the adventurers who protect tiny towns, villages and eliminate any potential monsters.
Different from the knights that are stationed mostly against wars and other larger calamities, for example, a rogue Boss monster appearing near the city or perhaps a tsunami of monsters. Those are the only times when knights will be sent.
“Excuse us!” I said as per culture before the men and women who were drinking inside rose their mugs as beer and milk spilled from them.
“If it isn’t Mana and Ayumi, up for a quest again?” a lady with yellow hair dressed in silver armor with a long, yet thin lance sheathed on her back. The lance was being held by a strap that wrapped from her shoulder to her hips.
“Yep. Are you also going for a quest today, Kate?” I asked before she nodded as she looked at a beautiful white-haired lady dressed in a black Valkyrie dress; she had a waist cape that was black in color with golden accents.
Her overall dress had accents of gold, a primary color of black, tertiary of white; she wore a long white glove with an emblem of twin long spears on her chest. It was a flashy armor nonetheless added with her golden spear on her back and her overall luxurious figure.
“Yeah… I am going to be questing with her,” she replied before the lady walked towards us with a nonchalant face.
There was no denying it, she was absolutely stunning like a model. Her eyes were like crystals, it was like my eyes were being dragged to her. I don’t know why.
“Hello, pleased to meet you. I am Kaleen,” she said as I snapped back to reality.
“Pleased to meet you as well, I am Ayumi while these two are my companions, Mana and Flora…” I said before she smiled. Her smile was indescribable but if I were to describe it, it would be beautiful… or wondrous?
“Ehem…” Mana’s voice echoed from beside as a smack blasted through my back, snapping me back once more to reality as she looked at Kate and asked, “What quest are you two taking, it seems like the two of you are heading for combat.”
“Ah yes, the two of us are looking for two more members to join us since this quest requires at least four members that can do combat. Apparently, there was a high Ogre sighted near the forest of the Town of Gesturia which is not far from here,” she answered.
A high Ogre is classified as a Masters tier monster if my memory of Solis still serves me correct. These monsters are otherwise called “Party Bosses” since they require a party to fight against otherwise, for the most part, you’d be doomed.
“A high ogre… wouldn’t you need two strong members to battle against them?” Mana asked as the two of them nodded before looking at us.
“Fighting a high ogre does sound exciting, want to try?” I looked at Mana and suggested as she looked at me shocked. Well, normally people wouldn’t suggest fighting against a high ogre as casual as I would, but I feel confident after seeing this lady… my intuition was telling me she was not ordinary.
“Can we even beat a high ogre?!” Mana shouted as I smiled wryly before a familiar broom-riding orange-haired girl slammed on her back, causing chaos as we looked at the direction where they flew before Estelle and Aurora stood there, patting their heads.
“How heavy are you?!” Estelle looked at Aurora who scratched her head as she looked below her where Mana laid, fuming with anger as Flora looked at them with a dangerous aura. Whoops… it seems like the end of the world has arrived.
“THE TWO OF YOU…!” Mana shouted as both Estelle and Aurora backed off, only to be cornered by Flora who was looking at them with her head tilted to the side before a loud crash exploded inside the Guild as the screams of both Estelle and Aurora echoed throughout the entire Guild followed by two loud slaps.
