Chapter 153. Frankenisten & Gira, the Dragon
The bracelet’s specifications indeed look super powerful, a boost of 200% in light element is an instant boost to SS-Grade magician—not to mention, that [Sword of Light] is not a skill to be messed with. It basically gives you a personal Excalibur added with [Saintess Heal] which is super high mana efficient, ultra-grade healing spell that turn you into someone that could solo a Dragon by him/herself.
Even though I didn’t receive anything beneficial to me, having something for Crystal is still best since this would mean she would be able to grow in strength more. To be honest, I wanted the [Yua’s Necklace] drop more since it would be a necklace that will benefit me more, but this isn’t bad. All of the drops from Yua’s quest are one-time use, so I can’t carelessly place it on me.
“In you go,” I mumbled while throwing the ring onto my pocket, ensuring that I could feel it before I stretched my arms a bit. There was little time for me to play around which means I will have to start rushing through the bosses. Not to mention, the fact that Yua didn’t activate [Blood Consumption] must mean that there are certain conditions that the monsters need to meet.
From my guess, it seems like Yua was disqualified from the conditions since he was of holy element, and also the monsters before him were also disqualified because they were of lesser level than me but that’s still a guess. There is no way for me to know other than begging the system which is something I don’t want to do.
“Haa… it’s time to get moving before two days pass by,” I mumbled to myself, materializing my scythe as I spun it a bit before kicking the ground as my body flew forward towards the exit of the boss room where a large wave of zombies awaited.
And like usual, a loud blast exploded throughout the cave as I sliced through all the zombies in one go. Time was chasing after me like a hunter which means I can’t afford to play around, my body kept dashing forward, slicing the zombies like liquid before I soon reached the door to the boss room as the sight of the scythe consuming the blood of the zombies came to view.
[Minimized Blood Consumption] is starting, you may experience minor pain that will last longer but in exchange, the pain won’t be as intense, and the consumption rate will be lower.
I sometimes wonder whether the system is considerate or not but this level of pain which is more like bites from an ant and some minor migraine is endurable to me compared to the gruesome horrific pain that would render me unable to move.
“It’s time to defeat the boss,” I mumbled to myself while kicking the door as a giant zombie with three giant steel roods piercing through his head came into sight. The zombie looked like Frankenstein with both of its eyes flashing bright red.
Without wasting a single moment, I kicked off my body like a jet, flying straight towards the zombie’s head as its head moved a bit, aligning the steel rods towards me. My body reacted by parrying the steel rods with the scythe, knocking the zombie a bit as I quickly condensed footsteps through the air, using them as propellers that propelled me straight towards the Frankenstein-like zombie.
And within a few seconds, my scythe sliced through the zombie’s neck like butter as I soon maneuvered my body in a risky move, narrowly avoiding the wall while using it as a footstep to bounce me towards the other wall. My body went ping pong until my trajectory was right where I wanted it, pointing straight towards the heart of the zombie where I can sense the mana crystal is located.
“[Blood Magic: Spearhead]” I mumbled before blood condensed around me, forming a sharp spear that pointed straight towards the heart of the zombie, and within a split second, my entire body bypassed through the chest of the zombie, raining blood and crystals everywhere as I crashed towards the wall.
The zombie wasn’t even able to fight back as its body fell to the floor, lifeless like a fallen statue. Descending down to the floor, I pointed my scythe towards the pool of blood before it soon started consuming it at a faster rate: “Blood Consumption’s speed will be increased, please expect temporary pain.”
Almost immediately, a heavy amount of pain blasted through my nerves. It was like my brain was about to explode, all the veins on me tightened as my body screamed in pain; a pain far stronger than any other pain I have experienced. It was like my entire body was whipped by a whip of swords, piercing through my head and eyes.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!”
The pain kept on going for ten minutes straight, my fingers dug deep onto my chest, wanting to purge my heart but my consciousness kept preventing it until the very end where I rested on the floor with exhaustion.
You have defeated [Frankenstein Copycat] with 700x [Zombie] and therefore achieved 5 levels, please allocate your skills in the land of memories.
“Frankenstein Copycat… Pfft—” I laughed a bit after listening to that announcement. To think that zombie who couldn’t even fight me gave me five levels, if level three is equivalent to level 75 then at level one was 55, wouldn’t that mean my current level which is around 11 would be around 165 human levels?
I mean, that is a ten-level increase every level my vampiric race earned. Theoretically, I can contend five dragons alone which is already unrankable by the guild—what a surprise, to think that this race is extremely powerful… I knew I made the right choice by picking this race as my evolution.
“Enough talking… time to move to the last three layers,” I stood up with a bit of pain, forcing my body to move as I materialized my scythe once more and dashed towards the exit where a large wave of spiders awaited—which was boring as usual as I completely demolished the wave of spiders in one-go.
After completely annihilating all the spiders within two minutes, my body moved to kick open the door where a giant Arachne awaited. Without wasting a single second, I immediately flew towards the Arachne, slicing off its head in one go which was only possible due to our overwhelming level difference. The Arachne only gave me two levels which were still boosted my level to 185.
The boring process of pain, killing the next wave, and so forth continued as I killed all the monsters of the fifth layer before opening the door to the next layer where an interesting boss awaited. The boss of the fifth layer had giant black wings, eyes of purple, and scales of darkness, releasing fire on its mouth as it breathes.
“The Fifth Layer’s Boss—Gira!” I shouted in excitement as the dragon looked at me with a loud roar that shook the entire room. Feeling danger approaching me, my body immediately dodged to the left before a purple line melted the spot where I was standing.
My eyes widened from seeing the spot I was standing melt, if I stood there, the chances of me blocking it would be little for sure since that was not a high-level spell but an ultra-tier spell, just three levels below the maximum possible spell you can cast.
“I guess it’s time to attack,” I mumbled as the dragon flapped its wings up in the air, not wanting to lose out, I unleashed both of my cute wings allowing me to float up in the air at the same level as the dragon. The two of us stared at each other in the eye before my body moved forward, propelling itself straight towards the dragon.
The dragon also attacked through its arm which looked to contain a tremendous amount of force, feeling danger inside, I immediately cast three kinds of blood magic out of instinct: [Blood Magic: Assimilation], [Blood Magic: Damage Seal], [Blood Magic: Dance of the Night]
All three spells created a triple-layer magic circle of blood in front of me, the top layer being Assimilation, the second layer being Damage Seal and the final layer which was pointing towards me was the Dance of the Night which is technically my strongest spell that I can cast.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
The tri-layer magic circle and the arms of the dragon collided, creating a large shockwave that caused the ground and the walls to crack and even explode. The first layer exploded after three seconds into the collision, passing its results towards the second layer which also exploded after ten seconds into the collision.
“It’s time…” I mumbled while flying straight towards the final layer of spells as the arm of the dragon which was now bleeding heavily also closed in. It was only a matter of seconds before my body touched the final layer together with the arm of the dragon, achieving the result that I wanted as I parried the scythe upwards while shouting, “Dance of the Night.”
In an instant, millions of butterflies made of blood flapped around me as the arm of the dragon was parried, knocking him back while I immediately commanded all the butterflies to attack the dragon which was immediately fulfilled.
Intense amounts of adrenaline exploded inside my body as I dashed forward and danced marvelously, creating sparkling slashes of blood as I endlessly swung my scythe towards the helpless dragon who could only defend itself.
The butterflies attached themselves around the dragon, sucking its blood endlessly before the entire dragon was now engulfed in blood. The blood of the dragon flowed straight towards me, increasing my powers dynamically as I continued to swing before two minutes passed by as all the butterflies vanished.
Seeing the butterflies vanish, I knew it was time for the battle to finish as I flew up above the dragon with my scythe pointing downwards, “[Final Blood Magic: Grimreaper]”
And just like the grim reaper, I swung my scythe downwards as the dragon immediately reacted by firing a giant straight purple line towards me. That wasn’t the end of my barrage though as I quickly cast six different spells to complement the first spell: [Blood Magic: Absorption] [Blood Magic: Contender] [Blood Magic: Amplify Attack] [Blood Magic: Lucid Night] [Blood Magic: Ironic Cries] [Blood Magic: Miracle of the Waters]
All of the spells cast were meant to boost both the defenses and the attack power of the original spell with Contender, Amplify Attack, and Lucid Night being the main booster for attack and the others being defensive spells.
The two powers soon collided, creating large shockwaves around as the entire boss room exploded together with a large cloud of dust that hid the results of the battle. The fact that I was still flying here meant that my attack completely overwhelmed the dragon’s very own attack, and my prediction was immediately proven as the dust cloud dissipated, revealing the dragon on the floor.
All of its scales were melted, its eyes were now white as it laid on the floor lifeless. I descended down towards the dragon, standing on its pool of blood as my scythe immediately activated a higher level of blood consumption, consuming all of the dragon’s blood within a few seconds.
[Greater Blood Consumption] has finished consuming, processing will produce large amounts of pain that will last ten minutes. Please endure!
Almost immediately after, a tremendous amount of pain came crashing down towards me. Almost like my body had exploded a billion times in a second, regenerating after that second then repeating the cycle… I could feel my heart explode from the pain; my entire body screamed as I dug my fingers onto my knees.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!”
My cries kept on going for ten minutes before I fell on the floor, gazing at the top with little will to live. I felt like killing myself at that moment, the pain was too intense—just imagining it brings my body shivering as I held down my head with tears.
[Great Blood Consumption] is complete—You have earned ten levels and all of your health points and blood points are now regenerated back to maximum. You have 158 skill points unallocated, please allocate them on the Land of Memories to utilize your powers at their fullest.
