A Kryptonian in the Marvel Universe

Chapter 127: Chapter 125: Hulk

After the Superhero Association was formed, Zod directed the Black Queen to locate Bruce Banner. With Banner's unique abilities, he'd be a valuable ally. Knowing where to look based on past life experiences helped narrow down the search, sparing them from a worldwide chase.

Despite General Ross no longer hunting him, Banner had taken precautions to avoid those with ulterior motives seeking the Hulk's power. He'd discarded all electronic devices, opting for a quiet life, focusing on researching ways to control the Hulk on his own. He had recently connected with a man known as "Mr. Blue," whose theories on his condition intrigued him. This "Mr. Blue" proposed a unique approach to controlling the Hulk, requesting only a blood sample. Banner, albeit hesitant, eventually mailed the sample.

One night, as Banner returned home, he was startled to find a stranger waiting in his modest apartment.

"Dr. Banner," the man greeted him.

Zod, impeccably dressed in a black suit, didn't need an introduction—Banner recognized him instantly. Zod's reputation and distinguished looks were hard to miss.

"Zod!" Banner blurted out, surprised. He wondered why Zod, a scientist of his stature, would risk approaching him, knowing the dangers of Hulk.

Zod raised a hand reassuringly. "No need to worry, Dr. Banner. I'm here peacefully, and I brought something for you."

He handed Banner a folder, who took it hesitantly. As Banner flipped through the file, he found an evaluation sheet.

Hulk

Bruce Banner

Rating: S-rank hero.

Features: Limitless strength and resilience.

Weaknesses: Prone to losing control.

Evaluation: Invited to join.

"What's this?" Banner asked, puzzled.

Zod didn't waste time explaining. Instead, he played a video showcasing the Superhero Association's recent activities, along with footage shared by other superheroes on a network. Banner was taken aback, noting the advanced smartphone Zod used—a technology he recognized as revolutionary.

Yet, the impact of the Superhero Association itself was even greater.

"So… you want me to be a superhero?" Banner said, almost disbelieving. "Do you know what Hulk is? He's a force of destruction. Every time he appears, it's chaos and casualties. He's a curse!" Banner's voice grew strained, his frustration evident.

"No, Dr. Banner. Hulk's actions aren't inherently destructive. He's like a child—innocent, but uncomprehending. Every time he surfaces, it's either because you're in danger or he's attacked on sight. Hulk has only ever been defending himself," Zod replied calmly.

Banner was unsure whether he or Zod was the crazier one. "You seriously believe you can communicate with the Hulk?"

"Why see him as a monster, Dr. Banner? Strictly speaking, he's like your child," Zod said thoughtfully.

Though initially dismissive, Banner understood Zod's line of reasoning—perhaps an occupational hazard of being a scientist.

"I can't agree to this," Banner said, shaking his head. "Turning Hulk into a superhero is a risk to public safety."

Zod nodded, understanding the hesitation. "The Earth faces mounting threats, Dr. Banner." He showed Banner footage of various monstrous creatures attacking cities and superheroes fighting them. The battles on screen were beyond anything Banner had witnessed.

"These creatures are appearing more frequently and growing stronger. Our resources are stretched thin. If Hulk can't be controlled, maybe he can at least be aimed in the right direction."

Banner watched the footage in disbelief, stunned by the sheer scale and power of the monsters.

Zod waited patiently for his response.

Banner sighed. "I just wanted to find a cure for myself… but it seems the world won't allow that right now.Zod smiled. "Welcome aboard, Dr. Banner."

Banner nodded quietly.

With Banner joining the team, Zod began planning the Hulk's debut. He wanted it to be an unforgettable event, one that would showcase Hulk's strength and ease public fears of the "green giant."

Banner traveled light, following Zod back to the Association's headquarters. When they arrived at the Superhero Association's towering building, Banner couldn't hide his awe. Seeing it in person was a whole new experience.

As they entered, Tony Stark greeted them. "Welcome, Dr. Banner—or should I say, Big Green?"

Banner, already prepared for Stark's teasing, simply ignored him. Zod, having learned Stark's irreverent attitude couldn't be changed, just let it slide.

"So, I'll be living here from now on?" Banner asked, as he was shown to a room.

"Yes," Zod replied. "But first, let's do a physical assessment."
