Bright Star City, Bright Star Island, Flowing Stars Archipelago, Earth
Omniscient P.O.V.
Cocking his brow, Pietr asked, his tone perplexed.
"When you mentioned a Force destroyed, you mean...?"
Looking at the younger man, Maksim's expression turned amused as he responded.
"A Tier 6 Force, yes. Even the Transcendent backing it perished because of it. The whole mess started when they covertly slaughtered everyone around the Immortal Seed cultivator, pinning the blame on a weaker Tier 5 Power. They thought that by being discreet enough, the Seed cultivator would never discover the truth behind the event, and as long as they contacted him and offered to destroy the Tier 5 Power, that cultivator would be grateful enough to join them. The result for that Tier 6 Force would be to acquire a future Tier 6 Transcendent while the Force itself was rejuvenated from the Fate Energy's benefits. Fate isn't unchangeable, but that also depends on the situation and how strong you are. That Transcendent thought his cultivation was enough, but it clearly wasn't, and so he and his Force paid the ultimate price for his mistake."
Seeing him shaking his head with a mixed expression, Pietr wondered.
"So, Immortal Seeds are untouchable? Does that mean that as long as the young Mikhailov stays in the Federation, the Frost Beast Palace is bound to be destroyed?"
Turning his gaze toward the younger man with a hopeful expression on his face, Maksim replied.
"If only... No, being favored doesn't mean being invincible. So, what we should do in his case is make him feel welcome, something that, with his current relationship with those two husband and wife prodigies, shouldn't be a problem. The second point is presenting opportunities for him to grow faster. In other words, he needs to go on dangerous missions outside of this Island. After all, carrying the World's favor with him, even those sure-death situations can be turned into massive opportunities for him."
Nodding his head, Pietr declared.
"Since Sergei and Ling are members of the Extinguishing Hall, might as well assign the lad to it once he breaks through to the Foundation Building Rank. I'm sure he'll fit right in."
As the two kept discussing together about the finer aspects of the Supreme Elder's thousand-year plan, in the Fairy Dust shop, Demian was going through the last stretch of his breakthrough, with only a slight trace of Red Dust left on his Consciousness Fog, the latter being now almost perfectly spherical, appearing as a mysterious transparent marble.
As time passed, that last trace vanished completely, followed by the last imperfection on the Seed rectifying itself, now forming a perfectly round sphere.
At that moment, both his body and the phenomenon above his head shook simultaneously, creating an invisible Energy wave that spread all over Bright Star City at a speed that would leave even Tier 6 Transcendent baffled, if they were even able to sense it in the first place.
Only after it reached the city's outskirts did the mysterious Energy stop, with only a small part disappearing somewhere beyond the Island, and even further beyond the Archipelago itself, while the rest was quietly and unknowingly absorbed to differing degrees by most living beings residing inside the City, with only a few exceptions among them.
Although the effect on High-Level cultivators was almost non-existent, its function being at most the straw that broke the camel's back, the rest of the low-level cultivators in the City experienced an unexpected second cultivation spring, with many breaking through their current level, or Rank depending on their circumstances, while others who had previously no hope of further advancement sensed their bottleneck wavering or even crumbling completely, rekindling their hope to tread the Immortal Path.
This effect, though life-changing for those weak cultivators, was merely because of the Immortal seed forming through Demian's heart Rank Breakthrough.
Indeed, the word Immortal was extremely mysterious for Mortals, its meaning being 'Not Mortal', with the word 'Mortal' signifying 'death'.
Immortal, a being beyond death itself.
What means could such a being possess, knowing that even those Tier 6 Transcendent were considered 'Mortals'? Well, the present situation gave a glimpse of how mystical those means actually were, with merely a Low-Grade Seed Formation from a Peak Chi Gathering Rank triggering a wave of cultivation increase in a City of hundreds of millions of cultivators as a mere 'side-effect'.
What then would happen as Demian grew?
That was something that those two observing Void Sapling cultivators, whose senses caught the unexpected surge of breakthroughs erupting all over the City, looked forward to with great expectations.
As for Demian, as soon as the Energy wave left the Lotus, it suddenly began to shrink at great speed before disappearing inside his Soul Space.
It then imprinted itself onto the Dao Seed, triggering some mysterious changes all over his body, although the young man would probably need some time to investigate what they entailed exactly.
In the meantime, with the transformation ending, the massive Energy Vortex around him progressively dissipated, returning the piece of Void where they were located to its previous calmness.
After making sure that everything was well with his body, the young man opened his eyes, and what greeted his clm gaze was a group of people standing around him, with their eyes directed at him and a myriad of expressions painted on their faces.
It went from worries turning to relief for his women, Teacher and Aunt Ling, to utter admiration from those Guards, although the former five's expression also contained a hint of the latter among other things.
Noticing how concerned those people had been for him, risking their lives to protect him from Demon Beasts who could squash them with a random tailsweep, Demian realized that there were people, other than his own women, whom he could rely on, people he could trust.
Remembering an old phrase he read in an old novel, he suddenly made a decision that would have far-reaching consequences for both the people involved and the World itself.
'Repaying kindness with kindness and enmity with enmity... Condensing my Dao Seed, finding my own Path to Immortality, why not bring a few more trustworthy people along? Wouldn't it make for a more interesting journey?'
As that thought traversed his mind, it unknowingly triggered some mystical changes for those people he now trusted, though only Sergei and Ling could sense the shift happening to them because of their cultivation level and their closer emotional proximity to the young man.
However, neither of them had the time to investigate it, instead waiting for Demian to speak while noting how his gaze had gained a depth previously absent a few days prior, reflecting his recent Heart breakthrough.
On Demian's side, seeing everyone waiting for him to say something, his previously impassive expression turned softer as he declared.
"Well, it seems like I succeeded."
Although everyone present could easily tell, those words seemed to completely anchor the result in reality, removing any previous worry still present in their Hearts.
Immediately, Seraphine jumped on him, her upper body crashing into him with enough strength to fold a tank in two, though the only result was Demian's lips twitching slightly before he extended his arms to bring her closer to his body.
Although she tried to hide it, for someone with his cultivation, it was easy to sense the slight shivers wracking her body, let alone the dampness growing on his chest.
Letting out a sigh inwardly, Demian contemplated.
'No matter how strong-willed, a woman will always worry for her man, uh? To be fair, I'd probably react similarly if I were in her shoes and she were in mine. Well, her or...'
As that thought surfaced in his mind, he realized that there were two other women deeply affected by the event, his gaze swiftly moving toward Adeliya's and Brynhild's faces, or more specifically, their beautiful brown and blue eyes, where mist was gathering slowly.
Their own gazes, filled with powerful emotions, he would have to be either blind or a Japanese isekai protagonist not to understand, did not leave his face.
However, their expression, a mix of expectation and the fear of being disappointed, swiftly lit up with joy when they saw the tender smile appearing on his face as he lifted his right arm and a few words left his lips, his tone both gentle and playful.
"What are the two standing around for, Loves? Your prince charming is right here, you know?"
While giggling at his corny joke, the two joined Sera into his embrace, although they were much more gentle in their approach, especially Bryn, whose strength could easily match Demian's own.
She even chose to reduce her own physical size to make it easier for the three women to enjoy Demian's embrace better.
Otherwise, with the City Formation's size-limiting function activated, the almost nonexistent difference between the four's physical size would definitely make it inconvenient for a 'group hug', especially with their extraordinary 'front assets'.
Finally embracing the man they loved, while sensing both his warmth and gentleness, was the last straw for them.
Thus, the mist blurring their vision turned into teardrops, joining Sera's own on the young man's upper vest.
Seeing the three so distraught, Demian felt his Heart ache, prompting him to whisper gently.
"I'm sorry for worrying the three of you."
Although none of them verbally responded, he felt their arms tightening around his waist in sync.
He could tell that they were not blaming him, but would that stop him from compensating them as best as he could?
Clearly not!
'Talk about a terrible first date for them. Well, second date for Sera, but it's the same principle. Granted, the attempt on my life from the Frost Beast Palace wasn't truly my fault, but it's also a fact that if it wasn't for me, they wouldn't have to go through that much shit...'
Letting out a sigh inwardly, he pondered.
'I really owe those three... Well, I already decided to spend the rest of my life loving and cherishing them, so adding a bit more emotional debt on my part won't matter, right? At worst, I'll repay them with my body. They shouldn't be against it...'
While his mind was filled with random thoughts, Demian, who had completely forgotten the presence of others around the four, was suddenly reminded that they were indeed not alone when his gaze caught the amused glint in his teacher's gaze and the exaggeratedly playful expression on his Aunt Ling's face.
Freezing slightly at what was a bit of an embarrassing situation, his heavily-tempered skin allowed him to easily gloss over the embarrassment and act as if nothing happened despite still having three beauties crying in his arms, instead declaring calmly, his tone emitting a strong confidence.
"Thank you all for staying by my side to protect me. I can't do much for now, but I'll be sure to repay the favor as soon as I can."
