A Journey That Changed The World.

Chapter 1612: Resources We're Hoarding

Archer teleported him and Alexa to the Ironfoot compound that Dellah had set up. When the guards at the gate spotted him, they knelt in respect as they passed by and were met by the grey-haired beauty. ''Husband! Sister! It's good to see you both!'' she exclaimed.

Without waiting, he embraced the older woman as he leaned down. Dellah nuzzled into the crook of his neck while he lifted her. The two greeted each other with kisses before she looked at him with a big smile. ''What brings you here, handsome? Not that I'm complaining,'' she continued.

''I got some new plans that you'll love,'' he replied, an excited glint in his eyes.

When Alexa saw that, she smiled as she muttered. ''Please don't stop smiling like this, Arch. It brings me back to that night in the park when I kissed you on the cheek.''

Archer's face went bright red at the words, causing Dellah to burst into a fit of happy giggles. ''Lexi! You must tell me the story over some ale! Who can make the infamous White Dragon blush like this?''

''Let him show you the blueprints,'' the younger woman responded. ''We was working on it for hours.''

Dellah sighed but glanced at Alexa with a knowing smile. ''Well after that, you're telling me everything.''

Archer chuckled at this before the older woman led them into her private office. While walking, he spotted dozens of other Dwarves working on cannons and other machines all across the workshop. They stared at him with wide eyes and slack jaws when realizing who he was.

By the time they reached Dellah's office she was excited when slumping down in the chair. ''Show me the new project, handsome. I want to see what out of this world design you've come up with now.''

''Here you go,'' he said, handing over the blueprints.

As the brilliant Dwarf began examining the papers, he and Alexa took a seat. He pulled out three empty cups, setting them on the desk before filling each one, eliciting a warm smile from Alexa. He handed her a cup, took a sip from his own, and continued while Della remained engrossed in the blueprints.

Just then, the older woman's yellow eyes landed on him, full of curiosity and excitement. ''This can be done, but I'll need to improve the shield, stablizers and a few others things,'' she finally spoke.

Archer's smile grew wider just as Dellah exploded. ''This is brilliant, Arch! We can expand Draconia using these floating settlements!''

''I knew you'd like it,'' he chuckled. ''It will take some work but I think you can do it in a few years.''

''I'd say five if I'm honest,'' the Dwarf responded, a seious expression on her face. ''There's a few challenges that need to be sorted before any tests can be conducted.''

Following that, the three started chatting as Alexa spilled the beans on their childhood stories. Dellah was lapping it up, her eyes lit up with love and excitement until she looked at him. ''Who knew you was so shy when you were younger?'' she teased.

Archer laughed even more as he ignored her words as the two women were staring at him with knowing grins. He shook his head and changed the subject. ''How have things been at the workshop?''

The older woman giggled. ''Good, busy but good,'' she revealed. ''We've been making mana cannons and other weapons for the navy. They keep requesting even more stuff thanks to all the ships being built.''

''Makes sense since we've expanded to the other continents,'' he said, thinking about the plans Aisha told him about. ''We need to guard the merchant fleet, it's how we earn gold for all the resources we're hoarding.''

Dellah's eyes widened in shock as she remembered the warehouses all over Draconia. ''Oh. I'm not complaining mind you, I was just getting bored with making weapons but now you've given me this I can pour my time into it.''

''Good because we don't won't our greatest inventor to get bored,'' he teased, a grin stretching across his face.

''Shut up,'' she retorted, smiling.

Afterward, the three continued chatting until Dellah was called into the workshop by the other workers. Once she was gone, Archer grabbed Alexa's hand and teleported them to the treehouses library. When they materialized in the large room, the young woman's green eyes widened in shock.

''Oh my god,'' she whispered in amazement. ''There are so many books.''

''I told you the others have been collecting them for years,'' he reminded her. ''But many come from destroyed kingdoms and empires. My legions looted every library they found before giving them to me.''

Alexa was too engrossed in going over some of the titles and stopped when reachign one section, her head turned to him, a curious glint in her eyes. ''You like romance books?''

''No, my life is a romance novel,'' he chuckled. ''Why would I read about it? Those belong to some of the girls, they love that sort of stuff.''

''Can I read some, please?'' she suddenly asked.

Archer smiled, he turned to an empty space creating a comfortable chair, some hot chocolate and lit up the fireplace that sent hot air rushing through the library. When Alexa saw this her eyes widened and she moved faster, wrapping her arms around his shoulders in a tight embrace. ''Thank you, my love.''

He returned her smile and gently hugged the navy-haired woman. Then, he gave her a tender kiss before she settled in, grabbing a few books to get comfortable. After that, he returned to the eastern wall on Orientia where Kassandra and Demetra were guarding as the others were resting in the palace.

When he reappeared in their private tower the Demon Shark woman moved in his direction, her blue hair tired into a messy bun, her yellows eyes glowed with happiness as she greeted him. ''Evening husband, it's good to see you.''

''Hello, Demetra,'' Archer responded, wrapping the woman in a hug.

She melted into his arms just as Kassandra stepped back into the tower, shivering in her thick winter clothes. The Kraken Princess pulled off her hood, her eyes widening with delight upon seeing him. Her face lit up as she exclaimed. ''Arch! You're finally here!''

''Sorry I took my time coming,'' he explained, feeling bad at leaving them here. ''A lot of things happened back on Draconia.''

''We know,'' Demetra reassured. ''I'm happy that Aslan was fine and that you're now awake.''

Kassandra eagarly agreed. ''I was worried when Nala sent out the message once you healed him but she said the little guy is okay now, thanks to you, handsome.''

''I'll stay with you two for a couple of days,'' Archer replied.

He then enveloped the Kraken Princess in a warm embrace, her face radiating joy at the heartfelt gesture. The trio then settled comfortably in front of the dwindling fireplace, its embers casting a soft, fading glow across the stone room. Noticing the fire was tiny, he approached the hearth, and exhaled a burst of Dragon Flame.

The flames roared back to life, sending a wave of warm air cascading through the chamber, enveloping them in cozy heat as the crackling fire illuminated their faces, filling the room with a violet light. After that, he joined the women who were now wrapped in blanket's, shivering thanks to the weather.

Moments later, a deafening clap of thunder rattled the walls, shaking the fortress. Archer glanced upward, his expression alert, as Demetra let out a frustrated sigh. "The storm's getting worse," she grumbled. ''One of the commanders warned that the soldiers are growing anxious about a potential landslide hitting the fortress.''

Archer's eyebrow shot up at Demetra's words, a determined glint sparking in his eyes. ''I'll handle it," he said, nodding. ''I'll be right back.''

After speaking, he stepped out of the tower and summoned his wings. He soared above the ramparts, his eyes scanning the fortress walls below. Channeling his mana, he wove layers of protective energy, fortifying the structure. He crafted sheltered alcoves and barricades, ensuring safe havens for the soldiers to take cover from the storm and landslides.

Below, the Draconians peered up from their posts, their anxious faces softening with relief as they witnessed his work. Moments later, the two women emerged from the tower, bundling their cloaks tightly against the biting wind. Kassandra's hair lashed wildly as she shouted up to him, her voice barely carrying over the storm. ''Arch! The western slope's unstable. rocks are already moving!''

Archer's gaze snapped toward the western ridge, where the mountainside loomed, its surface trembling under the storm's relentless assault. He nodded sharply and dove toward the slope, his wings slicing through the air. Landing with a thud, he pressed his hands to the ground, channeling a surge of mana into the earth.

Tendrils of energy snaked through the soil, binding loose rocks and anchoring the unstable terrain. A low hum resonated as the ground stabilized, the threat of a landslide momentarily subdued. He rose, wiping rain from his brow, and turned to see the soldiers cheering from the ramparts, their morale bolstered.
